Velociraptor Suit Better Than Guy With A Rubber Suit Godzilla
No CGI will ever replace this
😅ridiculous
Well, it did😅
@@yeniczekand it looks terrible unfortunately.Maybe another 10 years
@@shoaibmohammed3823you are aware some shots in the original use CGI, right?
A lot of CGI was still used lol. They blended it with the animatronics.
That’s always the best way to do it. If a shot can be achieved practically, then do it using practical effects. Only go with CGI when it’s just not possible to achieve something practically.
“Not so much with the mouth!”
Raptor: :O :I :O
😂
Looks like the raptor took about 5 grams of magic mushrooms 🍄
how do you know the effects of 5 grams of magic mushrooms? D:
@@victorfergnI told him.
"I'm on drugs, bitch I'm geeked up out my body".
well, actors do buy some extravagant things XD
Even dinosaurs have to audition for Spielberg
She responds so well to commands! Such intelligent creatures
What a smart velociraptor, he even learned English
I liked the Velociraptor test for Jurassic Park.
(1993)
Only an unfinished, unpolished suit with basic puppeteering and 30 years on STILL looks better than overdone cgi
I do miss the creativity of the old school model makers from years gone by, before all the computer-generated imaging.
YOURE SO RIGHT
I genuinely can't understand why nowadays they're *still* using overly shiney/obviously fake looking CGI/VFX. My brain can't even process all the moving fake images in most of the action/superhero movies. A "fight" sequence alone is like staring at 10,000 optical illusions that dont actually fascinate me, as optical illusions usually do, but that leave me feeling irrationally angry and stupid.
@@avamasqueradecheaper to do I guess
CGI is expensive and time consuming as hell. Also, because it takes years to do CGI for a full movie, they can't be as creative during the process, they're locked into what they first planned. So projects are planned a long time ahead of production starts and can't be changed, which is why all movies sucks nowadays. Meaning scripts, dialogue, direction can't be changed / modified and improved upon as easily as they used to.

Dude this is 1993!! And looks sooo incredible! I was legit 3 years old.. If i had walked in and saw this at any age in my childhood, you could have convinced me this is a real velociraptor and I'd believe it.. I almost still would as an adult. Thats how you know your studio is talented. Beautiful work
1992, I think. The film was released in 93.
I was 12 at the time. Was privileged enough to see it in theaters.
Except real Velociraptors were more the size of large chickens
@@nocturnalrecluse1216I was 4. I loved dinosaurs so much that my parents let me see it (I was basically a 4 year old Tim and was obsessed) while we were vacationing in Florida. I’m now 34 years old and can take you to the exact seat I sat in because watching it the first time is so etched into my memory. It absolutely blew my balls off. My greatest theater experience I’ll ever have. Heck, just as much as the dinosaurs, I remember the helicopter approaching the island and John Williams’ score cranked to 11. I remember kids crying and women screaming at Mr. Arnold’s arm. You would have needed Dennis Nedry’s winch to pry my scrawny ass out of my seat.
@guccimain89 I still remember after the movie how we laughed about Jerry Seinfeld having a field day over the part where Newman got torn apart and eaten alive.
Good times. 👍
million times better than cgi
You don’t see many raptors this well trained. Insane.
Unbelievable!
I would hv been just born 3 decades ago!!!
Even after atleast a dozen viewings....this is why I still go back to watch it again!!!!
Incredible puppetry.
This is amazing engineering, I love seeing these old bts tests
It's also funny to imagine this as a velociraptor at rehearsal lol
Director: "close your mouth!"
Raptor: :V
God that’s kinda terrifying lol
Not really.
shut up edgelord@@nocturnalrecluse1216
@@nocturnalrecluse1216nah, it kinda is.

It's amazing how awesome these look.
Beautiful they did they’re best work on that movie
AMAZING work. I never tire of seeing this footage ❤❤👍👏👏👏👏👏
I wish I could have worked for Stan Winston Studio this stuff looks so Cool must of been so much fun working in a studio with all these amazing animatronics and puppets
It’s incredible that’s an entire animatronic
This is what I have wanted to steal from the studio my whole life
That is awesome!! I want their job!
"Close it!"
* opens it more *
No green screen, no motion capture suits!! See, Jurassic World, this is how it SHOULD BE DONE!!! 30 years later, and it still looks awesome as ever!! Practical effects rule!!!!
Yeah man I agree!
@Dinosaurs-active-boy Thanks, man! I think that if you have actual physical creatures on set, it adds to the actors' performances! Plus, it's in camera, it has presence and weight behind it! With CGI, you don't get that, plus the Animatronics are works of art! A bunch of guys in motion capture suits getting animated in later is just lazy! They can't add that kind of intensity in post-production! I'll never forget kids and adults hauling ass out of the cinema during the T-Rex attack in Jurassic Park and the screams of the audience! The Jurassic World films just lacked that sheer, visceral fear!
This is the kind of job I want, dinosaur actor
We need more love action dinosaurs
Wish I could get one of these
Same, I would walk all around New York City, London, Paris, Miami, and Orlando wearing this.
I'm confused. How'd they teach a dinosaur to understand english. Just amazing 😍
Did the raptor get the job?
Of course!
It looks so real.
Raptor 😮
Omg is big one🦖🦕
Tried to build one of these a couple years ago. Great film and no cgi or modern editing can beat good old puppets ,miniatures and stop motion rear projection. 👍
How did the one you were building turn out?
@@Blinky_B built the main frame of it and jaw mechanism but never managed to find something to be used for the skin .
@@Theampstak oh ok
By the way if you don’t mind me asking, what did you build the frame out of? Lol I know it’s kinda random but I’m thinking of trying to make one
I wish I had that
Ah the movie magic of yesteryear.
When the movie was finished, Sam Neil kept one velcorapator animitronic, and Laura Dern kept the other one, but she had to hide it from her kids because they were scared of it.
@@higorgie9050 yessir
This looks better then all the cgi stuff
I like how we don't see the human legs like with most modern dinosaur suites.
Looks better than an animatronics from Jurassic World Dominion!
Pure nightmare fuel
that head design just looks so good
*director gives directions*
Velociraptor: "am i a joke to you?!"
That looks like fun.
I bet that would be a perfect halloween costume
I can't believe they got a real velociraptor on set!
AWESOME DINOSAURS THIS IS SO COOL
Best costume ever!
Um it’s a animatronic
Old school 🔥🔥🔥
That’s crazy that Footage still exist
"This is what they execpted this is what they found"
Absolutely amazing! 😍
This is still so fucking awesome 😍😮💨
Childhood unlocked 🔓
As a dinosaur, I wouldn't let him talk to me in that tone.
His high ass ate the whole batch of edibles 😭
Physical props will always beat CGI
Can you imagine using what we have in 2023 into making this suit, the tech and all? 30 years is a LOT of time for developing the next gen creature suit.
Perfeito
Raptors in the original Jurassic Park were the best and scariest hands down
It's a really awesome animatronic for the movie jurassic park and I really love dinosaurs so much !!!!❤
imagine if modern JP was created using this suits with cgi removing unnecessary things
Nah they had real raptors on set💀💀
Bro really got revived just for the movie💀💀💀💀
That's a good pet. Where can i get one?
The performer had to be braced to the floor? Those digitigrade feet must be a pain to balance.
this right here is movie magic. not the fake digital crap they put in movies now.
You do realize that the “fake digital crap” was in Jurassic Park, right? A lot of it…lol. Some things are impossible to pull off practically and require CGI.
When will Hollywood and executives realize that we want more of this unless CGI...
So many people discredit suit-mation without ever knowing just how much work and acting, honest to Godzilla acting, goes into the craft of being the one in the rubber monster suit.
Alien played by Bolaji Badejo, was a Nigerian visual artist and actor.
He was known for playing the Alien in Ridley Scott's 1979 film Alien.[
He was 6-foot-10-inch tall, a height which convinced Scott to cast him in the role. It is his sole acting credit.
(Wikipedia)
I plan to recreate this suit. Top 10 of my missions 🧑🔧🧑🎨🦖
@clcg1800 7 months later.
How's it coming along?😁
Wish I had one of these, would scare my sisters shitless
I’ll take this over CGI
Ohhhh😂😢😮😅😊😂
Clever girl
I wonder how dangerous these actually are to be around
Is that a velocirapter suit?
Fun Fact: The hardest part of making Jurassic Park were putting down the clones at the end of production and tricking everyone into thinking they were just animatronics.
I can’t believe they let them use real dinosaurs
i didnt expect it to be only almost bigger than a Human
How did you not expect that…? Lol. It’s been established in the movies that Velociraptors are about 2 meters tall. That’s over 6 feet.
They're 2 meters tall. Maybe even taller. They're definitely not human sized.
Damn that thing looked creepy as hell. Definitely sucks how they turned these demons into the "heroes". Pretty dumb
They aren't demons. They're freaks of nature, and they're fucking terrifying
Clever girl..
If only they brought these puppets back for the new movies without the CGI assistance. It would have looked so much better.
It seems my mother in law
Acho que o carinha que aparece do lado do velociraptor é o guitarrista do Tool.
Sim ele é! :) - Adrienn
My god, the things which can be done with practical effects are absolutely beautiful. Knowing there is a man inside there on stilts and contorting his body inside that beautifully sculpted suit, coupled with the animatronics in the head. Amazing. And then there's the full size animatronic T Rex and Triceratops!!! Those things were there! Those were real tangible things. Something the actors could see and touch. CG is great tool, but its overuse is a distraction to both the actors and the audience. It's all become the flea circus.
I was right it’s real dinosaurs
this was 1993 the fnaf movie has NO excuses
🎉👍👍👏😎🎖💪
melhor raptor de todos os tempos!
os de hoje são horríveis 😢
Don’t tell me your scrap this piece of art years ago and if you did shame on you this raptor, animatronic puppet is awesome. It would suck if you scrap such a huge piece of history.
These things disintegrate after a few years, look up what happened to Jaws or Yoda
Awesome,
How come the ones at Universal Studios appear so cheesy and lame?

Wow that's expensive
“Close it.” No!
The technophobes saying this is better than high end cgi are delusional. This is jerky and robotic. They had to use cgi for the realistic scenes.
