    this is one monster layout. mere mortals can only dream of having your skills and dedication, Peter. This has to be one of your most expensive projects overall? i can't even imagine breaking it down and shipping it. How do you quote for such huge jobs? can you judge your timeframe pretty well? and electrical work, one of my biggest roadblocks in the hobby.

    11 switch machines per hour is more than alright!

    Well the blue servo's looked like Peco ones which are the ones I've never had any luck with. So I will be interested to see the new ones. Fantastic job.

      The new ones are white.

    Amazing work! This is all removable as well? Mind boggling!
    Do you add landscape or stop at track work?

    I was going to ask you how the change in design of Peco points will affect you going forward, but you sort of answered that when you said you were changing makes. Maybe you could show us exactly the difference and how the new ones will work at some point ?

    Massive layoff with great quality woodwork.
    How do I wire a bi-direction reversing loop with 3 block detection sections on it. Will the block detector still work if the current is reversed ? Many thanks 🙏.

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  День назад

      I generally use TVD dual frog-juicers for reversing loops. If you want three detection blocks within the same reversing section, then one group on a Digitrax BDL168 should be just the ticket. Do yourself a favor and buy the break-out board for it as this saves soldering.

    Any chance on how you install/secure your servos, and a little more on the news servos you plan on using?

    Did you say Lowe's? To get more plywood.... I haven't seen wood that nice in any Lowe's...

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  День назад

      Not the main benchwork plywood - that is Baltic birch that I have to order from a local cabinet shop. I'm referring to the thin plywood that I use for guardrails. That is their 3/16" door-skin plywood.

    Does Australia operate on the same current as the US?

    • @jamesmatthews5644
      @jamesmatthews5644 День назад +2

      No. 240volts at 50 to 60Hz

    • @mpeterll
      @mpeterll  День назад +2

      No, they run on 250V (officially 240, but in practice usually closer to 250). The Digitrax command station, boosters and main power supply all handle this voltage (I checked before buying them). We will need to replace the outlet strips and all the small power supplies for the miscellaneous circuit boards when the railroad is moved.

    G'day Peter. You know, it's better to have an empty house than a bad tennant. We'll forgive you. LOL. Mate its looking pretty healthy now, what an effort. At some point before you pack it all up could you give a run down on the electronics please? Top stuff mate.
