As a latino doing concept art or trying to get into the industry, you made me cry like 3 times out of frustration, so much hits home.
thanks a lot for the honesty guys!

I really felt this interview and could relate so much to all the frustrations through out the years as a professional artist. Thank you so much for this!

What I learned this afternoon: If someone with a shotgun showed up at Adam's house, he'd save the cats first. #priorities #bestboyfriendawardgoesto #runadam #someonesavegenandthekids
But all jokes aside - That's an awesome talk. It brings some sort of relief to see that pro artists have a very rocky path too, sometimes and that there's nothing wrong with taking the time to figure stuff out and change plans. Seems to be part of the journey for almost everyone. That was a Sunday afternoon very well spent.

This was probably one of my favourite talks, Fred is such a cool guy and I feel like I'm very much like him in many ways, especially when it comes to social media. Please do more videos like this, they're very insightful, especially when talking to industry veterans.

Wow about 2 hours in Adam talking about the person you are and the person you are as an artist being two separate identities within a person is fascinating. I relate to it a lot.

Thanks for this! It was encouraging to listen to. I think Fred’s decision to stay in one place for his kid is really good. I also had that life of moving around two different countries every 2 years and it messed me up in a lot of ways. Best to avoid it and travel when in your 20s instead.

This has been honestly cathartic to listen to. I've never felt as seen as now when I hear about Freds experience as the 20 something just getting his portfolio together. "It will be this year guys I swear" haha. Thanks to you both for sharing this insightful conversation!

36:39 Apparently the age limit for Gobelins doesn't exist anymore or it has shifted, for anyone who is curious. Someone I've met graduated in their 30s already, they got in at the age of 29 apparently

Man, I related to this one so hard. So good to hear someone else venting about how Sisyphean the process of working in the games industry feels sometimes, my burnouts usually don't come from the work being hard, but the feeling of pointlessness induced by management style. After jumping form what feels like one sinking ship straight to another the arms start feeling real heavy. Maybe I'm not going crazy after all. Thanks Fred and Adam!

Hearing Adam compare the struggles of artists to the Dung Eater was very funny. The discussion on cool factor was insightful; sometimes I get too stuck in the logic of designs and forget the value of going FUCK IT WE BALL in the design process.
