tbh this is any showcase should be done, no kazuha/mona/bennet or full food buff, people looking for comparison showcase not for the big pp dmg, this helps people to decide
I mean, Gebshin is not 1 character Game is a team game, i appreciate who use Baal, Kujou, Kazuha, Bennett at the showcase because it;s pretty realistic team, you can also use it on Abyss and it's very very strong, Some character need to showcase with team in order to pull out their maximum potential
No matter what artifacts are used Engulfing will be better for Baal. It feeds into her kit and because it has higher ER and base dmg than the catch. Changing the sands and cup don’t matter when Baal gets more electro dmg bonus from ER and Engulfing gives ATK based on ER, so it surpassed in both aspects
Tbh, it's not a question of whether Engulfing Lightning is better (of course it is). It's more about seeing exactly how much better it is compared to f2p options, which makes it easier for players to decide whether that amount of improvement is worth their primos.

the vid is not meant to show how good his shogun is, its to show a damage comparison of the 5 star and the f2p option, the build doesnt matter, and also the emblem sets only been out for a couple months so people who dont refresh arent going to have god artifacts
Having 200 crit damage or 50 crit damage does make a huge difference, so build does definitely matter. EDIT: In this case her showcase is perfectly fine, since Raiden shogun has pretty much the same stats with both polearms
Bruh I used up the daily resin and got all 4 piece set of Raiden with crit rate and crit damage and er stats on all of the 4 emblem sets in one day lol and all upgrade gone perfectly to crit damage and rate so you can get godly artifact's without refreshing too.
WRONG. This should be done with supports since we need to use supports in Spiral Abyss. Doing it solo without support buffers would NOT bring out the full potential of a character. Also, just accept that Engulfing Lightning is just way better than The Catch, whether with or without support buffers.
The attack is less by almost 550. So that should be taken into consideration. Obviously engulfing lightning is made specifically for her. But the numbers on catch are not bad either.
@@poofyfish9436 Raiden actually only needs energy recharge alot. I don't have her but when I used her in trails she was dealing insane DMG. And I think in her 1st story quest she uses catch and with that she was putting 65-80k on her burst.
My max damage without buffs whatsoever was closely 105k. 29/200 for higher dmg. ATK sands and electro goblet with Engulfing. And I agree, Engulfing is like that one piece that makes the puzzle whole for Raiden.
Only downside of The Catch over Engulfing Lightning is losing the 12% extra CR, so if anyone plans on getting EL might want to make up for that 12% if necessary. The 32% Burst Bonus will not be an issue thanks to EL's passive of converting ER into ATK, add to that, that EL has 10+ more ER. The Catch is extremely good, but Engulfing Lightning makes Raiden cracked.
I got the engulfing lightning after saving for a few months and spending about 45$ cause I knew I could always get her at C2 later but I wanted to have her full aesthetic from day 1! It’s so fitting for her attack animations and she is my favorite character of all time so ofc I have to get her weapon. As a low spender she is the only 5 star I will probably ever go for multiple constellations of

You should use and atk goblet because my lvl 80 Primordial did 59k with full stack,you can easily reach over 65k with engulfing lightning I think,overall great showcase man 👌
I think for Engulfing still better electro dmg since it already have atk addition. Plus if use Bennet = too much atk Just speculation, I tragically lose to Unforged, so I never test it nor use the tools to calculate. That being said, but I agree using atk% for The Catch
Ignore the comments saying sand should be attack, my baal with the catch, ER sand and atk gublet, deals similar and even higher dmg than your baal with engulfing lightning, ignore the comments and just keep your stats balanced
I think she just need a little push for being a top tier DPS I mean when you stop doing rotations her ult is ready to use maybe the little push is a GOOD electro buff not that crap they gave us first xD

That's how showcase video should be madd .No food buffs , no bennet and Kujou buff .Pure damage test . It helps people to decide whether to pull or not
if u change the electro goblet to atk% the dmg diffrence will decrease, since the catch already gives u dmg bonus + emblem + the goblet , the dmg bonus for the catch is too much compared to atk% , while engulfing gives u atk% and removes catch dmg bonus which make it more balanced therefore gives u more dmg , my catch raiden c0 does way more dmg than the engulfing one here btw and artifacts are just fine not perfect

Pretty good. Although it depends on stats mainly, nice comparison :) Me personally I think catch is basically just a step back from engulfing not even half bad, if you have better luck on artifacts then the catch should be best for you. But if you don’t have much luck on artifacts or if you aren’t bothered to farm often then engulfing may be of more value to you x my raiden does around 60k no buffs with a regular r5 catch x so it just goes to show that either way it does depend on how you build your raiden

there were some flaws on the build, dont think it was the weapons. try using atk% sands and then try it out. my r2 the catch can do 49k with it :) hope i see a video with atk% your video was great overall . . . update, just upgraded the catch to lvl 80 and i can suddenly do 56k with the initial burst, the catch is actually pretty good at R2. imagine how good it'll be at R5

My c0 baal with catch at 60 stacks with no buffs and supports hits 60k and 10k normals. Edit: now she's at talent lvl 10 and hits for 80k with no buffs or anything.
I have a F2P Raiden, when I unleash the ult she deals around 5k-13k per slash, I bet If I get better substats on crit dmg and crit rate I can reach 18k easily without buffs. Even tho, I'm looking foward to get the engulfing lightning for her rerun to complete her.
People need to know damage multiplier in genshin is not linear. If u did such a simple damage like this, engulfing has 54% better output than the catch, but with full team scale for ex hypercarry that involve alot more unique multiplier, the dps difference between engul and the catch is just 20%. See how large the difference is. Yet people here overglorify the engul did alot better when its not that much of different, please learn first.
People should be aware that using The Catch would change her recommended build. From what Ive seen Attack - Electro or Attack Attack is the best for The Catch (deals more damage)
Sooo basicaly what do you want Constant crit: catch High damage which is basically akin to having a ratio of 1:10 crit rate to crit dmg: EL But if you already have high crit like 62+ without catch then go for EL, if not go for catch cuz no matter how stacked your crit dmg is, it wont do shit if you never crit.
If u are a f2p and don't have baal's weapon, it's fine to use "the catch". This vid is not a comparison between the two weapons...engulfing always will be the best for Baal, everyone knows.

I say the catch even though its obviously is going to be worse is actually the best for an average player who isnt luckyor rich, and extra 10 burst crit rate, thanks and dmg for burst isnt bad for her
Stats, talents, level and all that matter in a build even support characters it's part of the game but i do get it if you want just weapons and her potential thats fine
when you cant get engulfing lightning because you dont want to spend your primos and you cant get the catch bc youre stuck on ar25 and just started liyue story line👁👄👁
At least the catch is permanent, favonius also a good choice but it doesn't effect your damage but it is good if you want build your raiden to be a battery
Hmm I feel I need to try this myself again. I tried it and found the catch did way more overall damage. Came to the internet to see if anyone else found the same, so this is interesting. Maybe I just happen to hit more crits 🤔🤔
It's no surprise that EL is better than Catch But Catch is pretty good for a 4*, it's honestly better than many 5* weapons in the game But is r5 catch better than r1 Skyward spine?
Ye its obvious that Engulfing Lightning outperforms the Catch even at R1, btw lil tip: do charged attacks while the musou no isshin state, deals way more dmg faster
Actually I only gambled on getting the weapon because reaching the pity on weapon banner is easier for me than c1. I can only go far and if Baal is not guaranteed and so does Engulfing lightning, I'd take my chances on the weapon banner. 15 more pulls til pity. I hope it is EL.
What's the best way to maximise raidens burst damage, normal I use charged attacks as if it was hutao(without jump cancel tho) but every video I've seen uses just the normal attack combi
Charged attacks if you can, but the dps loss in just NAs is not as huge as Hu Tao’s. Also make sure to try and get a final CA right as the burst expires to get in a little extra damage uptime due to hit lag.
I‘ve been testing around and I‘ve come to the conclusion that my Raiden deals more damage with PJWS than with Skyward Spine so the Catch can wait, really.
Code0101 If you play her with Bennett (Not Sara, her ATK buff isn't high enough) The Catch can outperform the PJWS. You still have to keep in mind that farming the catch is a pain so ist might not be worth enough

Get her C2 and everything will be on easy mode. Her c1 only makes her halo charge faster while the C2 is like totally broken def ignoring while she's in burst mode. Her weapon in good but if you have R5 The catch then it not the biggest dmg difference.
My C0 R1 Shogun does 82K No buffs whatsoever. Yoimiya and Yelan skills are used after shogun skill followed by bursts then shogun burst. With Bennett she does 120k. Talent levels are as follow: 3/6/10.
tbh skyward spine maybe better, the 7 second tachi can do more combo by bonus attack speed from skyward bonus stat Literally the best weapon among the skyward
Nope, she's not weak. Just a little harder to build, because the stats of her Goblet and Sands vary from what weapon you got/her team mates. I'd definitely recommend pulling for her next rerun she gets; she changes your account in my honest opinion, even at C0.
It was the same artifacts dummy lmao 65CR and 121CD. It’s shows 71 when you inspect stats thru the artifact page because that’s how much he’s getting thru artifacts, then when you go to the character stat page it shows the final stats. The only difference is the ER and ATK because engulfing has higher stats than the catch
There is a big difference of damage obviously her weapon is 5 Star so for f2p people the catch is still a good option btw u have a lot to improve with ur Shogun.
If you are an F2P, a goldfish, or a dolphin, then don't. If you are a whale. Then go, you can buy another anyways. Zhongli is a good option but I suggest to give the other engulfing to Xiangling instead.

The amount of videos I've seen making Raiden as a main DPS tell me the obvious.... Nobody wanted her to be a supp xD
her ult is soo statisfying to play xD
She is a sub dps, but her ult recharges so fucking quick she's almost next off field for me except when I'm using other characters ults.

If u did such a simple damage like this, engulfing has 54% better output than the catch, but with full team scale for ex hypercarry that involve alot more unique multiplier, the dps difference between engul and the catch is just 20%. See how large the difference is. Yet people here overglorify the engul did alot better when its not that much of different, please learn first.

If you give raiden a crit damage circlet then you can deal around 80000 with 300 ER as minimum
People should be aware that using The Catch would change her recommended build. From what Ive seen Attack - Electro or Attack Attack is the best for The Catch (deals more damage)

But if you already have high crit like 62+ without catch then go for EL, if not go for catch cuz no matter how stacked your crit dmg is, it wont do shit if you never crit.
If u are a f2p and don't have baal's weapon, it's fine to use "the catch". This vid is not a comparison between the two weapons...engulfing always will be the best for Baal, everyone knows.

Raiden is not full resolve when with The Engulfing Lighting, maybe with full resolve The Engulfing will deal much more damage
I really miss how bright her chakra used to be, shame they dulled it down cuz of the issues with the bows.

You should have tested the catch weapon with attack % goblet. Imo there's too much electo damage and the attack is too low.

Actually I only gambled on getting the weapon because reaching the pity on weapon banner is easier for me than c1. I can only go far and if Baal is not guaranteed and so does Engulfing lightning, I'd take my chances on the weapon banner.

What's the best way to maximise raidens burst damage, normal I use charged attacks as if it was hutao(without jump cancel tho) but every video I've seen uses just the normal attack combi
Charged attacks if you can, but the dps loss in just NAs is not as huge as Hu Tao’s. Also make sure to try and get a final CA right as the burst expires to get in a little extra damage uptime due to hit lag.
The amount of er gives you some electro dog bonus so you don’t need an electro goblet

For a F2P the catch is free and actually easy to farm it just takes time, when engulfing is more high risk high reward

Code0101 If you play her with Bennett (Not Sara, her ATK buff isn't high enough) The Catch can outperform the PJWS. You still have to keep in mind that farming the catch is a pain so ist might not be worth enough

My C0 R1 Shogun does 82K No buffs whatsoever. Yoimiya and Yelan skills are used after shogun skill followed by bursts then shogun burst. With Bennett she does 120k. Talent levels are as follow: 3/6/10.

Nope, she's not weak. Just a little harder to build, because the stats of her Goblet and Sands vary from what weapon you got/her team mates. I'd definitely recommend pulling for her next rerun she gets; she changes your account in my honest opinion, even at C0.

It was the same artifacts dummy lmao 65CR and 121CD. It’s shows 71 when you inspect stats thru the artifact page because that’s how much he’s getting thru artifacts, then when you go to the character stat page it shows the final stats. The only difference is the ER and ATK because engulfing has higher stats than the catch

There is a big difference of damage obviously her weapon is 5 Star so for f2p people the catch is still a good option btw u have a lot to improve with ur Shogun.

If you are an F2P, a goldfish, or a dolphin, then don't. If you are a whale. Then go, you can buy another anyways. Zhongli is a good option but I suggest to give the other engulfing to Xiangling instead.
