Ima give another tip. Dont underestimate the wood spike traps. They are cheap, easy, default, and when you surround a base with them the irritation is bliss.
Once I made a toxic trio rage quit the entire server as a naked with some HQM and a hammer. They were raiding their neighbours right outside their compound, and I watched from a distance. They went through two layers of sheet metal honeycomb and got to armored walls, and blew enough rockets and c4 at them to get them to about 60 hp each, but then ran out, so they sprinted back to their compound to smelt more sulfur to finish the job. I then snuck out from the bush I was hiding in and went up to the armored doors, and was astonished to find out you can actually repair another base's walls with a hammer, you don't need TC! I repaired both walls to full and snuck back to my base close by, where from the roof I watched them come back after about 30 minutes of farming and smelting. They shot a few more rockets at the walls, but then paused - as to ponder why the walls wasn't breaking - before going in closer and likely seeing the full health of both walls. One of them then shot a full ak mag at the base (non explosive) while the others ran to their compound, and after that, they left and their base decayed while their neighbours continued their wipe, blissfully unaware of how close they came to doom.
one thing i do, which i highly reccomend. Is as a solo, i will raid one of their tc's when they areny near. Then make a triangle walled in tc. then honecomb the sides and top. And upgrade it ALL to HQM. Their external and the part of their base that is built up off their extnernal wont be made of HQM. i dont even put hqm in my tc to upkeep it. Since hqm lasts way longer. And they WILL raid it or just fucking quit. a whole fucking chunk of their base will decay lol
I like this… btw you’re probably aware but if you want to find main tc… go around hitting each tc, F1 combat log, look for which was built first and BINGO.
About a year ago a Vietnamese duo moved into a swamp I was trying to build in. They doorcamped my little 2x2, so in response I placed 20ish bags around their base and spent 6 hours breaking their large furnaces, windows, refineries, and water pumps with rocks.
You missed a real opportunity to pair the siren that beeps real loud with the flashing light, also I prefer to use stone walls for the compounding, wooden walls take 2 people 5 minutes with a sword to break, stone are more expensive but im the type that if im in for a penny im in for a pound, 4 diesel in the stone quarry gets you a inventory of stone so it's not hard to get the walls
So I pretty much do this type of greifing for a living. I got two more you can add. 1. Destroy any deployables that you see/get access to. I would just jump compound to destroy furnaces/electrical/lights. Pretty much anything. 2. My favorite thing to do is taking over externals. I would raid it then enclose it off with HQM so they can’t easily take it over. I usually reserve this type of treatment for my enemy’s/cheaters.
@@ChazzeyRust land mines around the base or where they often roam very good aswell. If they have cars in compound or outside like 10 grenades fully destroy it
Thank you for this. My buddy and I spent like 2 hours roaming the map grubbing some monuments with bows for some easy scrap. Just to go boat home and get chased by two kids with m2’s on a heli. Needed this.
You missed the best grief of them all, the watch tower grief, place 10+ (I've done as many as 40) directly outside of thier base, place a couple TCS for upkeep and they are so cheap to craft. The groups roof will nolonger be able to see anything outside of the base, and if they don't have a shooting floor that is 4 stories+ lots of thier peaks will become completely useless
I enjoy compound bowing out turrets when people do obnoxious turret placements near roads. Screw them. They get really mad. I had a guy put walls in front of his turrets to stop me. I came back later and destroyed a bunch of bolty turrets.
I just use regular arrows but I should try out fire arrows. Regular arrows do about 10hp damage per shot, and about 8hp through one layer of chain link fence. I find most people don't realize you need 2 layers of chain link fence to protect turrets. I like making heaps of compound bows in a cheap 2x1 and then listening to music or a podcast while I bow out a big compounds turrets. If they kill me I just wait 30-60 minutes and come back. Repeatedly doing this really stresses them out. They can try to place more turrets to stop me but that doesn't work.@@MrWEST1
after the silencer nerf the sound produced by the explosion of the actual bullet will travel further than the sound produced by the gun, so silenced explo is still just as loud as unsilenced explo if you're a grid out. (the closer you are to the gun itself the louder the gun is in relation to the explo, as the gun IS louder, just the sound falls off at a much shorter distance, this really only applies to situations where you're close enough to physically see the gun)
This is a really good point, but there may still be some benefit if you have an extra silencer lying around. For example, if you want to shoot out a windmill with the clan online then the silencer can still keep you a bit more hidden by hiding the muzzle flash and the bullet trail ( probably best for night time use).
good content. I once raided a huge clan base's external tc, upgraded it to hqm and watched the outside layer of the base crumble from decay in 1.5 days. Having the core completely exposed and being an easy raid target the clan quit shortly after
I used to play duo and we used to always do the fridu wolf raid tower which is just a tower with like 50 metal doors all the way up but we would only go with customs and shotguns and we would just snowball off them until they spend 16-20 rockets when we walled ourselves to in and if you place a bunch of outside bags it encourages them to raid/grief every door because they don’t want you to come back
dont use silencers when you explo their windmills or anything else it just wastes the durability and still makes the explosion noise able to be heard from like 3 grids away
shooting out windmills is the stupidest thing you can do as they cost nothing to replace and so much to break, if u dont tc a base when walling it in the walls will instantly decay. The fact that external tc raiding and griefing isnt even on here is crazy
seriously, external tc griefing needs to be more prevalent. With how cheap it is to make and how expensive it is to raid, one of my favorite things to do when i played years ago was build permanent jump-ins to clan bases.
feel like compounding a clan with wooden walls isn't worth it, if they are loaded which they usually are Molotovs are super cheap and if they only bust one wall they can gate it and get an extra compound layer at the cost of some cloth fuel and wood. You gotta add a TC grief to that compound wall grief
I just code raid and despawn some of their loot not all of it, wait a couple days days and than do it again and start putting up armored key lock doors that have empty boxes behind them.
you can have a reciever and a pager and hide it a single grief tc and make it beep constantly, they cannot disable the sound because it is actuall game sound and if they want to get rid of it they must lower they master.volume otherwise this shit is really annoying.
Does this person actually play rust? (Spoiler, no chance.) In this video I learned how to use ladders to go on top of a clan's base where there are no turrets and they leave their minicopter unguarded. Then he taught us how to use the equivalent of one C4 worth of sulfur to break a windmill, which they can replace easily even before their large battery runs out of power. After he taught us how to farm for the clan and build a new layer of high externals for them, which they will be thankful for once they raid out an opening. And best of all he taught us how to make the clans base look awesome by shining blinking search lights on it. If you are new to rust don't do anything suggested in this video except destroying their SAM sites with fire arrows.
