That’s hysterical!😂 We have adopted retired racing greyhounds for over 23 years. Only one was a picky eater. I tried everything! Our greyhound now, Daisy, a black greyhound whose racing name was “Legally Blonde”, eats anything, that dogs can have to eat. Fruits, vegs, different meats. Her favorite are mangoes! When we adopted her in 2020, she weighed 60 lbs. and was afraid of everything. It took two months for her to trust us. She weighs 74 lbs. now and is our Velcro baby! I’m so glad she tried different foods because we had to get some wt. on her. You and your puppy dog are so adorable 🥰 😊
@ Where do you live? I understand there are still 4 or 5 tracks opened in the U.S. I live in Florida, but we voted in 2018 to shut the tracks down. You could also look into adopting a Galgo, Spanish greyhound. They bring many of them in the US every week. These greyhounds are usually more traumatized and need extra care to bond with their humans. They can jump a bit higher than American greyhounds. I hope I’m giving you the correct info because I know things change. I had two Irish greyhounds, sisters, littermates that were pretty wild compared to American greyhounds. But loving and so much fun! They chased and played about 12 hours a day! They loved going different places and loved the water. Well, I hope all this helped if you are interested in adopting a greyhound. They really are the most loving wonderful animals! As you can tell I could talk all day about them. People have valid reasons. In addition to my cats being barn and garage cats who aren't picky like most outdoor cats aren't, I'm vegetarian and have moral issues with buying meat. I think of commercial pet food as being byproducts of the meat industry, so my money isn't going to the meat industry when I buy commercial cat food like Friskies or 9 Lives. One "regular food" vegetarian treat that I can share with my cats is cheese which they love, and I sometimes cook them scrambled eggs.
Thank goodness our fanily dog Sugar could not talk, her eyes and sighs said a lot. Sugs gave her famous to me, eye roll ear flop head tilt. She was not big on barking or talking, she gave looks.. Aww, R.I.P. Sugs.

I've recently learned that greens help cats kidney function so I try to give them at least some food with greens. A lot of commercial cat food is including vegetables now.

Tip: here in Ecuador, kibble dog food is super expensive for just crap kibbles. I cook brown rice and add chicken. A few kibbles on top for added vitamins. Or, butcher’s beef trash, boiled into soup, over brown rice and a few kibbles. Very healthy. I use roasted chicken because I don’t like the greasy mess with beef

Could you ask Zoe if she thinks raw food is better? I've been cooking my dog's food since he turned 1, but I do still wonder whether raw food is more nutritious for dogs. Zoe knows what's good for her! Dogs will tell you a lot! And not just dogs. I got yelled at by one of my rose-bushes. I'd started to put water on them at the end of a very hot week and my big "Peace" rose (!!!😂)literally shouted in my face : "ABOUT TIME!!!!!". I got the fright of my life.

So say you have an indoor spider plant that got too big, and you want to divide it. If you just divide it without warning, it's hard to cut through the root ball. If you give it a day's notice, explaining what you're going to do (and why you're doing it, I guess), the root ball separates easily. So maybe you can tell the rose bushes in advance what you want to do, and say that you're going to prune them to keep them strong and healthy, and then they won't mind. (They probably don't mind already, because they know you and know that you're a good caretaker -- but it couldn't hurt to let them know, anyway.)
I want rare or raw steak . I have a dog that is picky too. If i preparing a steak she is right there...wanting it raw. She will eat it cooked but the rarer it is the more she wants it. I always share but i seldom cook my self steak !
Susan , have you ever made her food instead of opening a can? I've been trying to extend her life giving the healthiest food I can come up with. It takes me 5hrs in the kitchen to cook & prep. My Frenchie will be 9 in Dec. Frenchies have a life expectancy of 10 yrs.😢 She is a healthy baby.

I used to dog sit for 3 Pugs, before there were human grade food dog food companies (Farmers Dog, Badlands Ranch, Sundays) you could order from. They really liked when I threw some blueberries, chopped cooked ckn(fried in coconut oil) , broccoli, whatever other veggies I had. I know that wasnt 100% of what they need on a daily basis, but it was only a few hours a week.
Wish I could do that to my two old dogs because they don't eat much. Poor babies are losing their teeth. But I do cook for mine s few times a week. So Susan at least she didn't ask for steak and eggs
Haha, I also use Merrick's, and my dog loves the lamb and brown rice! It's got whole grains, and I add some warmed up green beans, and she seems to like it. Either that or she has no choice 🤣🤣
My friend is an animal communicator,and the stuff my horses say is often hilarious. I had a racehorse we called Joker. He acted like one,rearing in the starting gates and saying, "Hi ho, Silver!" She told me to change his barn name and told him to save the rearing for his stall. It worked. Thank God. So,guys, be careful what you name your critter!😂
That is just hysterical. My dog is just as picky as yours. You have to learn as you go. You can’t give him anything that has onion in it garlic in it and then plus how picky they are. It’s amazing they eat anything. Sometimes I cook him chicken thighs. He’ll eat them one day the next day turn up his nose at them, steak one day it works the next day. It doesn’t in addition to some expensive dog food that he mostly ignores in the Bowl….sigh… I think we like most people are dog whipped

I was searching for a greyhound last year and couldn’t find one. Greyhound rescues have done a great job finding them homes! ❤❤
