I absolutely love that truck those are real tow trucks im 45 years old and grew up in towtrucks with my father we had 1 ton cab and chassis but they were strong there was no hydraulics to worry about your PTO was driven by a chain and a gear with a keyway in it and beds called wreckmaster weldbuilt and holmes 440 and a hot shot box mounted to the back of the cab to jump start anything man when i got my hands on that it would start anything u hook those jumper cables up to a dead as a door nail tractor the jumpers were 25ft and the the toggle was 25ft long also as soon as u hit that toggle and hold it the customer's car truck would be spinning faster than ever that was a fun toy and your chain box mainly for the J hooks went in the tool box on top of the bed in between the wheel wells and u had to have a good long 4 by 4 or 6 by 6 to lay on those chains so the straps wouldn't hit those rubber bumpers and tow guys back then remember when the 87 ford mustang GT came out guys wouldn't use there sling trucks and started investing in the cable driven wheellift me i just got the 6 by 6 a took my time luckily never had a problem but im sure this truck is sold and im sure its a mercury thats so rare and the ad ons i love tach in the dash id be so interested if it is still for sale that big back window wow thanks for the find i love thinking back on those times as a kid i loved towing back then i wish i seen this sooner i definitely be a buyer thanks again

@@samspace81 i tell you what to do, first get in RUclips, or in google and to start with: chivas colombianas. That will knock you out!! Those cars are colombian patrimony, ( heritage)
It was in Northeast Texas, I don't know where it ended up today. Was in California when it was used in the 60s, 70s ... Would be cool to know though. Thanks for watching - SAM
+Classic Gamer Yeah it was used for roadside repair work in the 60s and 70s too, lot more broke down cars back then. Alternators, starters, fuel pumps, you could change that stuff on the side of the road with these old cars.
No, she is the real deal, these were produced in Canada. It was originally a dump truck, converted with this custom Holmes setup. Thanks for checking it out! Enjoy the channel.

Gee, it has been 5 yrs since I commented here. My English was pretty bad at that time. XD
Nice truck, nice video, still for sale, if not, what did it sell for?
No it sold, between buyer and seller
Is a small v8 too big to fit that truck?
No, it has a factory V8 in it, 312 or 292. Watch the video again, I detail it all. Thanks for your comment - SAM
samspace81 oh yeah you did give the details, I meant to say was a modern v8 engine swap inside that truck. Would it fit?
Yes with proper engine mounts, trans mount fabrication, custom wiring harness
Awesome video mate was it just a Ford F-350 rebadged Mercury

They were only built for the Canadian market, as were many Canadian versions of American cars.
retroolschool I really like Canadian versions, they have great exterior trim!
They make me proud to be Canadian!
not an F350, I believe it is an F600
