Seth always crushes it on the mic when he’s in the ring with Punk. I don’t know if it’s because he’s more serious or because Punk’s mic skills make him feel the need to elevate his game, but he’s been excellent promo wise in this feud. Genuinely some of the best mic work of his career.
When he’s serious he’s great. But the incessant cackling is unbearable.

It's really funny how the entire drama in AEW made Punk look even more special, because every confrontation on the mic that he have, looks like a shoot promo.
That’s the hilarity of the whole thing. The Elite and their buddies in the dirt sheets basically tried to smear Punk’s reputation and ruin his career. But instead, because of their incompetence, it backfired. 😂 It made Punk an even BIGGER star, so hot that WWE called HIM. And now that he’s finally back in the biggest wrestling company in the world, Punk has officially transcended into full-fledged MEGASTAR status.
Damn Jeff, get a grip. Punk isn't a megastar. He's only known to wrestling/MMA fans and the people around us who have to put up with us. I see Punk as a modern day Bret Hart mixed with Shawn, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

Meanwhile, in Jacksonville, Tony starts feuds with blowoff gimmick matches, only for them to peter out because--despite being told how multiple times--Tony doesn't know how to book a linear story.
Punk really does elevate everyone around him, especially on the mic.
Amazing when there's actually something for them to talk about that isn't based around a wrestling comedy gimmick sketch or self-indulgent self-congratulation for their 10 year indie career that nobody cares about.

@@RajR96Yes he does. He needs to learn how to carry a feud without killing the believability and respect of his opponent, and how to make it an ongoing story people care to see for months on end. Nothing MJF has done compares to this BUT his feud with CM Punk himself. If MJF was as good as believed for a while, he’d have multiple big money feuds rather than one.

Ever since punk came back to the wwe he looks a lot better more mentally than anything it seems like AEW was very draining to him but as soon as he got back it’s like he’s all better
Even those who have said they dont like Punk or have some unsettled beef are able to work with him because they know whats good for business and they are professional and Im sure Triple H is a boss to ensure that its a professional environment where they can make money

@@1fulsniperlegend What needs to change is the Elite need to be GONE. They started all of this because they saw Punk arriving and his influence on Tony as a threat to their own interests. And they didn’t care that the company suffered huge financial losses while doing it so long as Punk was gone. Yet the proof is in the numbers: the Elite style of wrestling is not working. Numbers are down across the board. Until Tony grows up and stops catering to the niche indy-loving audience that the Elite cater to, AEW will not only never grow, but they are in danger of eventually going extinct. I don’t care how much money you have, a losing business can only bleed money for so long before you have to shut it down.

Replanting seeds of a future fued between Rollins and Punk which was actually the scheduled match at WM 40 before punk got hurt.
I can see Punk and Rollins at Wrestlemania 41 in Vegas for the World Title to make up for losing this years match
The WWE universe is course correcting itself. Drew had his fun on his free ride to success, but soon that will be over and it will be time for Punk and Rollins to get the WrestleMania main event that they were on course to have.
This makes me wanna see a back and forth between Roman and Punk on the mic now. Roman couldn't even hang with Cena back in the day but he's improved a lot since then.
roman was shoved down everyones throat when no one wanted him and fed wins and title reigns and main events until the perception is reality hypnosis kicked in and then people started looking at him as a big deal. now his promos really are just "I was champ for 1300 days!!" as if this stuff isnt scripted and he wasnt handed that even though he failed to grab a single brass ring back then and had 9000 million second chances. dude could literally never hang with punk on the mic even in his wildest dreams - all he can do is mention his handed accolades to make himself seem like a bigger deal than the other guy. lol now obviously punk would try to work with him and adjust his promo so roman isnt completely emberassed, but yeah. thats him adjusting - not roman winning.

When Roman mentioned Seth in a promo to a complete silence from the fans, and he said "that's right, no pop", that made me burst out laughing. Him referring to Seth as lil bro, all those segments with Sami the honorary Uce. I loved all that shit. And he didn't use to have any of it when he was first pushed.
I'm not saying he will win against Punk and frankly I don't care who wins. I just want a good back and forth that's entertaining to watch.
Roman is miles ahead on the mic compared to a few years ago
@@rshirley23it’s a whole different guy on the mic. It’s like a boy/teenager turned into a man. It’s like he’s on god mode son.
I mean, very few people could hang with Cena on the mic. Punk was one, Rock was another, and to a lesser extent, Daniel Bryan in 2013. But that’s it. Cena shreds most people when they go against him on the mic. Roman did a much better job hanging with Cena when he became “The Tribal Chief.” But as the Big Dog? He was dog chow.
I love how Punk brings the best out of wrestlers especially Rollins on the mic , it’s the only time Rollins doesn’t act goofy on the mic and is serious.

Even though Punk & Seth don’t like one another for whatever reason, they seem to having a hell of a time with this simmering feud.
And yeah, Punk looks to be in the best shape of his life and he looks a LOT healthier now in WWE, probably because WWE makes sure to keep him healthy and on track to being cleared unlike AEW if what Punk says is irrefutably accurate
Seth is amazing when he's not acting like a clown. The crowd singing his entrance song when his entrance is over is super annoying tbh
I like it when they sing it during matches. Especially when he’s a heel. It reminds me of when the Gangsta’s used to come out to Natural Born Killaz and it would play the entire time they were in the ring. When he was stomping Riddle as they sang it; that was really cool.
I wish he'd go back to his older theme and be more serious.

This angle reminded everyone of whats in store for the fans once Punk is done with the Drew feud. Also….i can see Seth attacking Punk at the end of his match with Drew at Bad Blood and that leading into the road to WM
It’s the CM Punk Effect. Any time Punk gets involved with something or someone, they look better than they usually are. It’s what Austin used to do, it’s what Rock used to do in his prime, it’s what Bret Hart did in his run on top, it’s what Kurt Angle did in everything he was involved with, it’s what Ric Flair did all the time when he was world champion in the NWA/WCW days in the 80s. The greats not only make themselves look great, they make everyone around them look great.

I don't know WHY everyone is praising this booking where Seth Rollins is "mad at Punk" for screwing him, when in reality...
1) Drew comes out to cash-in, Seth clearly was OK with it giving referee a wave that he is READY for this.
2) Drew kicks Seth on the head, Priest throws him OUT of the Ring and we don't see him for next FOUR MINS.
3) Seth slept outside the Ring well before Punk even came and stayed there till the bell rang for entire TWO MINS!
4) Punk screws Drew, Priest pins him and wins. Seth still slept outside the Ring for ANOTHER TWO MINS (Four in total) while Punk sat on the table.
5) Seth, who apparently couldn't actually capitalize on Punk screwing Drew to provide him extra time to save this match, gets up and blames Punk?
Really wished Punk brought up the referee screwing Seth, not him.

I heard there's plans for Rollins to get involved in the match but not an official triple threat. So like a run in. But then again I'm just some guy quoting what I read somewhere lol
In my opinion punk and drew will have a series of matches and not one rubber match at SS. Rollins involvement would be a bit rushed if he interferes right now as no title is involved in Drew-Punk fued. Priest will lose the title to Gunther so Rollins interfering in Drew's & Punk's match looks highly unlikely. May be something in future once their story is about to end, and Punk & Drew are scheduled to go different ways.

@@rajakghosh6602 as a big fan of Damian Priest, i hope he retains. i think Gunther doesnt really need the title right now, hes very over as he is. and Priest is getting better every week, i think its worth it to keep the title on Priest and keep building him up as another star so they got more people to play around with in the future. Gunther just came off of a 666 day IC Title reign, whereas Priest held that briefcase for almost a Year - would be a shame to now lose the title so soon. Plus, I dont think they want one of their top guys to be a champion who Only defended his championship thanks to unwanted Assists from Punk. thatd be kind of disrespectful to the belt itself honestly.
and it would be a bigger Win for Gunther in the future if he beats Priest who held it for longer and actually got Clean victories by then. also - Gunther and Priest have a really cool rivalry going on right now. the kid from the streets vs the privildged kid. thats like the contrast of CM Punk being Straight Edge vs Jeff Hardy doing Drugs. they have something amazing on their hands. this could be a multi-ppv feud with Priest and Gunther, just cuz of their backstories alone.

The problem is, Seth no longer has a reason to be mad at Punk because Priest already said the "no more title matches" stipulation is called off and he'll defend against him again.
@jaylenjeongpark Ok...I know that people don't use their brains anymore so let me spell it out. Seth and Punk in the ring, Seth crying and mad because (at that moment) can't get another shot at the title while Priest is still champ. It's literally the entire basis for his current anger at Punk. THEN....in the back later Priest says "hey man, don't worry about the stipulation, I'll defend against you again". That means Seth's entire reason for being mad in the first segment is now GONE!!! So now Seth has no reason to be mad because he can still get a title shot. Why is that so hard to understand??????

Seth made no sense to me. Punk did nothing to him. He's trying to get involved in Punk's business even when Punk wasn't really in his. It's not like Punk attacked Seth or caused the ref to not properly count to 3 when Priest wouldn't kick out. If anything, Seth was going to lose either way after Drew got involved based on what was presented. If he should be mad at anyone it's Drew. Punk has good reasons to go after Drew. Seth just feels forced when it comes to him going after Punk and doesn't sound anywhere near as threatening or believable to me.
Yeah I thought Punk wanna gonna tell him he was gonna lose anyway, but I guess because Seth and Damian made that weird deal he'd rather Drew win which still sort of makes Seth seem kinda heelish.
When Punk gets sent to WWE Hall of Fame, Cornette better induct him.

I can;t believe the amount of class Punk brings to this thing. I never watched him back in the day so I didn't get the hype but I really feel it now. And kudos to Seth for killing it on the mic!

In storyline Punk knocked Drew out with the belt . Drew had been in control of the match. Seth could have pinned him when he was knocked out, so how exactly did Punk screw Seth ?
I wanna see them give it to us on raw, only for it to end in chaos. This then leads to a tag, potential heel turn. THEN WE GET OUR Punk Vs. Rollins at one of big four.
I wonder how Jim feel about "Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington. The way he hit the ropes and how smooth he moves made me an instant fan!
Punk really brings out the best of Seth. You can tell he genuinely despises this guy deep down and it makes the confrontations so much more passionate for it.
This past Monday felt like them maybe trying to push the match even further out than Summerslam….it really made it seem like Punk isn’t cleared yet. Hopefully I’m wrong
The only thing I didn’t like about this promo was that Rollins forgives the referee for practically screwing him over, but has hatred for a dude that didn’t even touch him that night
The ref didn't directly or intentionally help Priest win the match. It's not hard to see why Seth didn't blame the ref. On the other hand, Punk had no business being involved in the match, and he intentionally helped Priest win for the 2nd time straight. Again, it's not complicated.

Punk had every right to interfere in the match once Drew got involved. The man attacked Punk and has now brought Punk’s family into this. Once he did that, it was war. And all is fair in war. Seth was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time, and wasn’t even conscious or in the ring when Drew was clobbered with the title. So He wasn’t going to win anyway.

dont forget Drew started all of this. in storyline he targetted and injured Punk - then prayed for him to actually be injured - and then stomped on his injured arm. everything bad thats happening to Drew now, is just revenge. payback. karma. Punk did nothing to him to cause him to stomp on his injured arm back then. Drew started it and picked on an injured man. soo. Drew really is the Heel lol. maybe you just forgot how it started and only remember how recently Punk has been interfering in his matches. but thats Drews fault for stomping on his arm.

Babyfaces don’t injure people and then try to profit off of it. Babyfaces don’t say they’re glad they hurt someone and then brag about it. Babyfaces don’t throw stones and then get upset when the guy they hit with rocks decided to break their leg with a bat.
And babyfaces don’t bring another man’s wife and family into their beef.
Drew’s irrational obsession with Punk has caused his own failures. He picked a petty fight with the pettiest man in the industry and he underestimated the craftiness of his opponent. Punk once waited THREE WHOLE YEARS to get even with Randy Orton for costing him his first world title; does that seem like the kind of guy who you’d want to make an enemy out of, a man who never forgets or forgives and will patiently wait for the perfect revenge?
For those reasons, Drew is the heel. And for those reasons, he is doomed to fail until he admits that he has caused his own problems for years and focuses on himself.

It’s very likely that it’ll be a Triple Threat Match at some point unless they save it for WrestleMania and with the Title on the line
As much as I like Gunther, I'd rather Priest keep the title longer. That said, I still want Gunther to not look weak in defeat(should that occur). That said, Gunther has to become World Champion down the line, don't get me wrong.
WWE wants to get Damian to at least 100 days or more as Champion so it's viable they have Gunther beat him at SS, then Damian starts feuding with Finn given all the JD drama.
WWE is also doing a PLE at the end of August in Germany (where Gunther began wrestling) so perhaps Damian does retain at SS then loses in a rematch to Gunther their.

That being said, I'm not a fan of Gunther losing either but if they can give him an out, maybe interference or something, they can keep him hot until the next PLE to dethrone Damian.
this was a great segment WWE has been killing it with CM punk it's a lot better than he was in AEW it wasn't his fault it was tony khan's piss poor management skills and that's biting him in the ass CM punk is involved in two feuds one with drew McIntyre that's been building since the Men's royal rumble match and another with seth that's been building since punk returned at survivor series AEW fumbled punk so bad that they repaired CM Punk's relationship with WWE this was very entertaining.
AEW also tried to drag his name through the mud, but now people know the truth and AEW got its karma - their name is now Rightfully in the Mud and nobody attends or watches their mudshow anymore. All Empty-Arenas Wrestling.
@DaggerPrince exactly lol how can tony khan say that everything's great if that's the case why are people watching WWE instead of AEW vince mcmahon being removed from WWE is the single worst thing to ever happen to AEW because their product was great with punk there but it's gone downhill after tony fired him in September plus WWE is doing a much better job with punk then AEW did.

I could see why they would do a 3-way match, but I really hope they don't. Those 2 separate feuds could easily last a year.
It's satisfying to see Seth Rollins cutting realistic intelligible promos after years of weirdo messiah gimmick. Now he is involved in a feud that makes sense and is interesting to watch.

I've not been into Seth's gimmick lately at all. But when he's not laughing like an idiot or wearing his wife's clothes, he can put on a solid promo. I'm really looking forward to his program with Punk and his program with Roman. I think those have potential to be the hottest feuds in the company.
Seth is gonna screw punk vs drew and possibly turn heel . They are basically gonna rotate between the three till the rumble because I don’t see what else there is for Seth to do outside of punk .

Jim and Brian saying they dont think theres any reason to keep the belt on Priest makes me a little sad. I like Gunther aswell buuut... as a big fan of Damian Priest, i hope he retains. i think Gunther doesnt really need the title right now, hes very over as he is. and Priest is getting better every week, i think its worth it to keep the title on Priest and keep building him up as another star so they got more people to play around with in the future. Gunther just came off of a 666 day IC Title reign, whereas Priest held that briefcase for almost a Year - would be a shame to now lose the title so soon. Plus, I dont think they want one of their top guys to be a champion who Only defended his championship thanks to unwanted Assists from Punk. thatd be kind of disrespectful to the belt itself honestly.
and it would be a bigger Win for Gunther in the future if he beats Priest who held it for longer and actually got Clean victories by then. also - Gunther and Priest have a really cool rivalry going on right now. the kid from the streets vs the privildged kid. thats like the contrast of CM Punk being Straight Edge vs Jeff Hardy doing Drugs. they have something amazing on their hands. this could be a multi-ppv feud with Priest and Gunther, just cuz of their backstories alone.
plus, Gunther asked Priest to just hand him the title rather than having the match - sooo.. story-telling says itd be fitting for Gunther to lose at Summerslam. to like show he had too much ego going into it.
Plus: Priest is also set up for storylines with the 3 guys, Punk, Drew and Seth. Punk keeps intervening in his matches and Priest's whole thing right now is that he wants to prove himself. So he could be angry at Punk for taking away his chance to prove himself - so there you can have a match. He promised a re-match to Seth Rollins, so theres another match. And Drew could be angry at him cuz their match ended with a intervention from Punk, so yet another storyline/rematch with one of the big 3 contenders for Damian's title. whereas Gunther doesnt really have anything personal going on with them right now I think - but he Does have a really good feud with Priest, though i dont know where he would go from there if he won. Id say Priest is setup for way more feuds with that belt at the moment. maybe if Priest retains you could start a Main Roster feud between Gunther and Ilja Dragunov.

I do love me some Punk. Mad that his treatment in AEW was actually what thawed me initially, and he is an asset for any show he is part of. Certainly a better speaker than wrestler imo, but it only took abput fifteen years!
And no, it isn't on account of hating AEW, I just hated what the EVP's and the empty headed f*ck were doing.
That never sat right with me. Punk was a huge asset for AEW-their biggest asset in the locker room. He got them a lot of buzz, he moved numbers, he made them money hand over fist and for the first six months, it was all good. How “executives” decided to smear the reputation of a guy actually helping the company’s growth was a good idea for their own petty agendas was a disgrace to me.
I loved the segment, but how did Punk actually screw over Rollins? Rollins still had every opportunity to win the match even with what Punk did to Drew

These sort of promos prove what knew about Rollins, he could probably pull off similar to what Brett managed to, the serious workhorse babyface. But instead he tries to crack jokes and be goofy for the crowd all the time. Roman was right to treat the current character like a joke in the lead up to WM

Pretty sure we'll end up with an unsanctioned match with Seth as special guest referee. Seths got nothing goin on, he's involved with both guys so the story can go in a few directions which is good insurance with punks risk of injury
