Thank you !
how tight do you go with the resonant head on the snare? i can't seem to get my snare wires in a spot where I don't get cross interference from the toms which also have lv mesh heads on them... everything is triggering the snare wires! even the heavy bass from the song that I'd playing to makes them buzz.
To reduce the sympathetic vibration of your snare wires by other drums, try your best to tension the resonant side of your snare head (and the rest of your drums) evenly so that the head is in tune with itself. This will help reduce the amount of overtone creating the excess ringing of your head.
@@RTOMCorporation thanks for the quick reply, but i didn't make any progress... ugh! i don't have the reso heads tight on the toms. just enough to get the wrinkles out. they sound "even". anything but a super tight reso on the snare sounds like garbage and the lv has to be cranked up too. still way too much ringing. moon gel helps a little but doesn't stick well to the lv's... its a all a hot mess at the moment.
@@hibr1d I had the same issue with the snare. I had to tune the head using tension from low / medium to medium. I found if I had the batter head tension too tight I would get a buzz and rattle no matter how I tuned the toms. I also found the snare wires had to be a bit looser as well. But, I'm constantly playing with the tuning...the snare always drives me nuts...I just can't get that sound I like, but at least I have the buzz minimized. It's only my high tom that is the issue now, but minimal and something I can live with.
I can't seem to get my snare wire to react normally when it's tight. Any suggestions to make snare wire work better?
What's best for the reso head? I seem to be having issues getting the snare wire to react with this batter head on... thinking too much air releasing

Did you solve this? I think I'm getting the same issue - snare sounds awful (paper like) with a thick fuzz/buzz to it. Have tried tuning reso head and mesh head but cant get a nice sound out of the snare at all.
@@surlybusdriver i tuned the reso head tight but even and put 2 or 3? pieces of gaffa tape on the reso head. sounds better. its not really a real nice snare drum sound but the buzz is short . wich for practice purpose is ok
What cymbals are those? And did you have a mesh head on the kick too?
Kenny is using Kasha quiet cymbals.
