Pretty good video. I've lived here in Mesquite for 37 years now and unfortunately we have been going down hill sense 2005. We're not the city we used to be. Although my one gripe is Mesquite got its name from all the Mesquite trees in the area, the creek came later.

Great video. I just purchased a brand new build in the Iron Horse Village near the Mesquite rodeo. About 2,100 sq feet for around $360k. Great value for its proximity to downtown Dallas. Plus they are trying to build the area and modernize it supposedly.

Thanks @dmavs4131 for watching and the feedback. Congratulations on your recent purchase. Mesquite is a pretty good balance for the value, good location to downtown, lake, arboretum and other cities around it.

@@whymovetodallas thank you! And agreed! I’m 31 with no kids so if and when I start a family I’ll likely move somewhere else for better schools but for now I plan to enjoy the proximity to downtown. thanks again for the great videos.

I grew up in Mesquite and seeing it now is heartbreaking. The Toys R Us is now an Outlet store, The Lubys is now a meat market and the streets need to be repaved in many parts of it. .
If you live in Shands Estates the nearest grocery store is further out since the Minyards closed.

Mesquite also has the original highway Dallas first had. The highway that goes through fair park is military. Same street that goes from the newly built suburbs to downtown, never have to take the highway and deal with traffic.

Just move to Forney or Royce City. Way better living without all the crime.

@livingindfw I think it's a nice and upcoming area. The suburbs creek crossing estates are very nice and so are the one's close to Samuel Farm 🚜 There's lots of fast food companies that are up and running, as well as shopping 🛍 centers that are very convenient for those that like to go shopping outside of the hustle and buzzel of the city of Dallas. I've been here 5 years, and it's getting better and better with population growth.
