I've been friends with Glenn since 1977. Drove him to his first bar band audition and have followed him ever since. He's a great drummer, who's come a long way from the bar days. He was always a beast, beating the hell out of his drums with all his might. He spent a fortune on sticks, heads, and cymbals, because he broke them all the time! Only one drumsticks he didn't break were Teflon! He bent the shit out of them!! I've been so proud to call him friend.
Glenn is my aunts next door neighbor, several times i have talked to him out on his driveway. He is such a nice guy you would never known hes a drummer for a metal band...
He is a cool dude, he sat and had a beer with me, after a show I saw them on, during handle with care at the 9:30 club in D.C, and he gave me his broken drum stick, which I had Dan sign. Lol
One of the best drum interviews ever! I became a fan of these guys back in 1987. Saw them on April 13th 1990 while in support of Handle With Care with Testament & Savatage. They put on an amazing show!
Yea killer tune and I just was gonna post another drummer cover of that today! My buddy Mike Bogush used to play in Nuclear Assault back in 84 and 85 and we collaborate some stuff together and Glenn is friends with him on Facebook but yea growing up Glenn was in like my top 10 or 15 favorite metal drummers and just drummers period plus I mostly listened to Metal classic rock too.Its all rock though just metal is rock on steroids I guess!!haha
When i see Glenn Evans now, just reminds me of 80s thrash. The first thrash metal band i ever listened to (Nuclear Assault). One of the very best in his game.
Fantastic! I was born in 1970 and loved Nuclear Assault (we always supported the "smaller" bands, also) and the sound of that band really is outstanding and unique!!! (especially the albom "Game Over" - it's a classic, try it out! BD
I was in a band called Minddrive in the early to mid 90s. We had the honor of opening for Nuclear Assault in Syracuse NY. Glenn was totally cool, down to earth and brought the house down with his playing. He hit everything with such brute force and authority to where my deaf aunt in Omaha heard him!
It's so cool finding this on RUclips he used to live in my tiny town Warren Grove. I was young then probably around 10 but I remember going canoeing with him. He's definitely a good dude he was always happy. I wish I still had the nuclear assault shirt he gave me
Always loved Nuclear Assault. Brain Death is one of the best composed great metal songs ever. .... but I was always shocked that Glenn was never sniped away by a "bigger" act, Shannon Larkin or Trujillo. He's brilliantly efficient as a drummer.
Nuclear Assault is one of my fave Thrash Metal bands ever, when i was 16 i've got the "Pounder" ep by the hand of Dan Liker, they're performing here in Chile and i was so glad to saw them live.
I love this guy's approach to playing drums! He's a beast of a drummer! I play drums on occasion, and I'm learning that you can never be too old to find new influences. Thanks, Glen!
I love Nuclear Assault ever since hearing them on a live show broadcast on the radio in England at the Hammersmith Odeon circa 1986, it was just a pure wall of thick noise, I immediately thought they were great. I was right, the albums were full of excellent songs, I think of them as the Ramones of heavy metal
Love his no nonsense style... straight forward beefy beats. Met him once on the a staircase at the Palladium when they played with Agnostic Front, Lunachicks, Leeway and Murphy's Law.
i gotta say when I heard the intro to something wicked this way comes blew me away that song is my goto goto song on a bad day (2017-til today )man that song is powerful
Saw them at their first ever uk gig back in the day supporting agent steel at hammersmith odeon as it was called then..john Connelly stage diving not realising their was seats was a classic memory...and yes we went for nuclear assault not ageing steel as did nearly everyone in crowd it seemed...happy days
Funny guy. Lol. Met him several times back in the day. Very cool guy. And also very underated drummer. He is so badass. One of my favorite thrash drummers
Don't make long demo brother need a rest.. u been smashing the war drums for decades... thx for the great service to global metal legion... big respect to u sir
If someone asked me name some of the greatest drummers in thrash metal. The first two names to come to mind would be Glenn and Perry Strickland of Vio-lence. Very cool of you to do this interview and the one with Donald Tardy. An interview with Perry would be kickass!
This a great format for a drummer interview; he doesn't tell drumming influence but plays the beat and sings with it to tell you which part of the song he's at. He's cool and chill as fuck, and a great, hard player. All drum interviews should be done like this.
Proof that people do not have to be young to keep playing fast and hard. I really hate when people make excuses for metallicas slowing down and decline in this way.
At this day... I still listen to Nuclear Assault! "Brainstorm"... I think Is called... Is my favorite song of choice... Such a underated band but still reigns kings of Thrash/Crossover Metal!!!🎼🤘🥁🍻🤜🤛😎🎶🎵
you can tell Glen is a super cool old school trash metalhead! I found this 4 minute video the most amusing from a drummer in ages, was not about drumming , was about being a drummer to the crowd! the guy is laid back and unpretentious - "Lars ulrich should come and learn how not to be a Diva"

Glen is a legend. I'm forty nine and I grew up listening to them. Good Times, Bad Times.
Glenn is a pure legend and Nuclear Assault one of the most underrated bands ever
Survive album was nothing short of a masterpiece of speed metal
The Plague, Game Over, Survive, Handle with Care, all taken for a spin regularly on 1st pressing vinyl. Fabulous sound!!
Glenn is my aunts next door neighbor, several times i have talked to him out on his driveway. He is such a nice guy you would never known hes a drummer for a metal band...
Love little trivia like this
Did you smoke a doobie with him?
He is a cool dude, he sat and had a beer with me, after a show I saw them on, during handle with care at the 9:30 club in D.C, and he gave me his broken drum stick, which I had Dan sign. Lol
Why so? By your rationale, in order to be a metal drummer one must be a dickhead? !😆
I loooooove these guys! Saw em in Liverpool, UK in 89, got on stage and got my hair caught in John 's head stock before he fucked me off stage!😆
Legend. So underrated as a drummer IMO.
One of the best drum interviews ever! I became a fan of these guys back in 1987. Saw them on April 13th 1990 while in support of Handle With Care with Testament & Savatage. They put on an amazing show!
me too, ears still ringing
damn thats a sick line up, i was a toddler at the time lol
Один из лучших барабанщиков в ТРЭШЕ! ❤😊
My all time favorite drummer. He is a musician! Today, the metaldrummers are boring drummachines without soul. Sorry to say.
Dave Witte and Mario Duplantier...
They are, no one stands out to me today
such an underrated drummer , LOVE THIS GUY
great drummer, great attitude, love Nuclear Assault
He looks so sad in the thumbnail. He's a beast on the drums though and he always had really unique, fun fills in his playing imo
great Drummer one of my fav !!! and nuclear Assault is one of the best band for me forever
His drumming in the song brainwashed is magnificent. Some of the best I've ever heard.

I think so too. Such a powerful song and the drumming is class A!
Hell yeah. Blistering
When i see Glenn Evans now, just reminds me of 80s thrash. The first thrash metal band i ever listened to (Nuclear Assault). One of the very best in his game.
Damn old-school metal heads are awesome.

"The Plague" is one of the greatest Metal albums in history!!! \m/

I was in a band called Minddrive in the early to mid 90s. We had the honor of opening for Nuclear Assault in Syracuse NY. Nuclear assault was one of the hardest thrash metal bands with a pretty rock n roll attitude.
Stand back for Exciter!!! Love his Rob Halford yell.

the Something Wicked album tempo changes for the solos are absolutely insane, i love it, its my favorite metal album
Another Violent End is an underrated gem.

THX for Metal drums in Nuclear Assault ...... I saw 2 times live in France ; merci beaucoup !
Always loved the whole sound. This is one of many bands I grew up listening to (and still own their cassettes/vinyl) in the 80's.
Survive and The Plague are my favs. Had all of them through Handle with Care. The new stuff is cool too
I love Nuclear Assault ever since hearing them on a live show broadcast on the radio in England at the Hammersmith Odeon circa 1986, it was just a pure wall of thick noise, I immediately thought they were great. I was right, the albums were full of excellent songs, I think of them as the Ramones of heavy metal
The Ian Paice of Thrash Metal
Jaja Yes!
Fireball was thrash to me
Love his no nonsense style... straight forward beefy beats. Met him once on the a staircase at the Palladium when they played with Agnostic Front, Lunachicks, Leeway and Murphy's Law.

Corey Ray ; Loved “In the Red”!! Still have that CD
There's actually two C.I.A . albums....."In the Red" and "Attitude". They're both good.

Don't make long demo brother need a rest.. u been smashing the war drums for decades... thx for the great service to global metal legion... big respect to u sir
Glen fit-in Nuclear Assault very well. He is a very solid old school metal drummer with groove and power to match !
My brother.... you are AWESOME!!!!!!!
If someone asked me name some of the greatest drummers in thrash metal. The first two names to come to mind would be Glenn and Perry Strickland of Vio-lence. Very cool of you to do this interview and the one with Donald Tardy. An interview with Perry would be kickass!

Loved the Kiss part 👍
Why does he look like he's about to cry in the thumbnail?
Dont know, but according to Lilker he is in pain when he strikes so hard. Seems like Glenn might be done.
@Angel Martyr world's always been shit my dude.
@Angel Martyr life in 1700 was pretty bad.
@Angel Martyr just don't be an asshole to black people and don't be an establishment bootlicker and they won't bug you.
@Angel Martyr why are you conservative?
It's always great to hear Phil Rudd getting the shout out.
What a drummer! Legend.
Now there is man who just loves to talk about his craft 🙃 Man, I loved those early NA records 😁
The basics of how to play Rockenroll in 4 min.
He have big band swing stuff
I love this guy!
Kick-ass! I need a drummer like that.
Glenn succeded. The Nuclear Assault drum sound kicks so much ass, it makes other bands butthurt.
Great guy🥁🥁🥁
Proof that people do not have to be young to keep playing fast and hard. I really hate when people make excuses for metallicas slowing down and decline in this way.
Glenn will be 66 this year and he's still as awesome as when we met 47 years ago.
thank you sir , that made my day .
Great!
Drum and BUgle corps!!!??? WOW!! Cool!! Bad ass, underrated thrash drummer!!
At this day... I still listen to Nuclear Assault! "Brainstorm"... I think Is called... Is my favorite song of choice... Such a underated band but still reigns kings of Thrash/Crossover Metal!!!🎼🤘🥁🍻🤜🤛😎🎶🎵
Reminds me of my Dad , no wonder why I was raised on Nuclear Assault
you can tell Glen is a super cool old school trash metalhead! I found this 4 minute video the most amusing from a drummer in ages, was not about drumming , was about being a drummer to the crowd! the guy is laid back and unpretentious - "Lars ulrich should come and learn how not to be a Diva"
