- Urban Exploration: Untouched abandoned house with everything left behind (English and German subtitles are available!) Episode #143
How can it be possible that a whole family goes missing overnight and abandons their home with everything in it? In today’s urbex video, we will try to answer this question. Somewhere in rural Germany we discovered a vintage home where time has been standing still for several years already. We searched the whole house for clues to find out its story. Join us in the first episode of our new three-part series in which we feature explorations of secret places hidden in Europe’s mountain valleys. #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

What do you think about our new video style? We thought of a way to improve our episodes and decided to show you more of the road trips itself and how we actually are exploring. Leave us some feedback, so we know what to improve next time. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.
you did great guys..you combine the urban exploration and tourism very well..I really love your videos and always find something new everytime i watch..thank you and all the best for you..
Broken Window Theory I absolutely love the new video style. Your videos have always been great and you’re one of the few urbex channels I can watch because so many of them move the camera around to the point where I get nauseated and have to turn it off. You have always moved slow enough where this doesn’t happen to me, but the new style is even better, and it looks even more professional and more hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for that.
The editing and flow of the video is incredibly well done. You can tell that only clips that added to the story of the video were used.
Loved the travel footage.

I really like that you try to find the real history of a place and the family, instead of making up stories like some urbex do. It's so much more interesting that way.
I love when you're able to give us history on a place. Love it!!
We always try but sometimes it's nothing more than speculations

@@alexconcepcion1 Hey man, you can turn on English CC at any time. You will find this in the RUclips player.
I like the integrated subtitels. No need for me to turn on them anymore :)
So you can understand everything the narrator says without any problems?
@@bwturbex yup :) i can't understand German so it's a welcome addition :)
I have great memories of seven trips to Europe. (I am an old man now.) With some Italian and smatterings of Spanish and French, I was able to get by and was even able to pick up some German. The audio of your German is wonderfully clear. Wish I understood more than just a random word here and there. US schools were piss poor at teaching languages when I attended sixty years ago. Some people in this country close their minds at the sound of an accent even if the person is speaking English! Integrated subtitles? Not necessary! Your English is perfect, well pronounced, incredibly clear, understandable and even grammatically correct. This video you produced is of documentary quality. It is a work of art and the music was appropriately chosen. You are all very talented young men. Your video has given men the ability to travel vicariously while sheltering in place. Thank you very much!
Yes the subtitles were very helpful! RUclips's autogenerated subtitles are terribly inaccurate
Tought German at school, but you guys speak so fast and I'm pretty rusty, so thank you for the subtitles 🙂
Theory: The families living experience could not be covered my the check the man got for being disabled. To make up for the loss of money coming in the family started to rent out rooms, as time went on the factory had to close so the renters left. Leaving the family even worse off so the man went to a home and the rest of the family faced with the bills left. Btw it might be easer to uncover what happened if you get an Ancestry account or something.
Then, there´s only missing why the house wasn´t sold. Normally, I´d assume it´s only when the repair is too costly. Obviously, it´s very likely that the selling price was quite low.
I love how you guys add a theorized story on what you’ve explored using context clues. in a way it helps bring a small degree of closure at the end of the video!!! It’s clear you guys respect and appreciate your explorations
Really enjoyed this new vlog like/ raw video style. Makes it even more fun to watch in my opinion, can't wait for the next one!
The nice thing about this style of video is it isn't really raw at all. It's more like a cleaned-up version. It also shows their versatility in the way they present their content!
The new video style of you is amazing! Would love to see more abandoned houses on this channel. Keep it up guys, you are doing a great job with providing us high-quality content.
This is yet another occasion when I wish I could leave multiple "Likes" for a very satisfying video! Thank you so much for your usual excellent craftsmanship. My first impression was at the use Europeans make of their railway systems. Because of the size of our country and the independence of our breed, we in the US always want to have our own transportation at immediate beck and call. The scenery of this journey is breathtaking and as always, your photography is among the best on RUclips. Your camera movements are smooth, your framing is thoughtful, and your background music never clashes with the visual experience. It was quite pleasant but also sad to tour this home, which not only has been spared the indignity of ruthless vandals but shows only minimal inroads of Mother Nature. I also like that your historian friend seems to have unraveled the mystery of the home's abandonment. It's a shame to let it waste away in solitude. Vielen Dank, meine Freunde. Immer sicher reisen.
My guess is that the people on the first floor had a limited income, so rented rooms on the upper floors. Converting the rooms to apartments overextended their savings and they couldn't afford to fix the roof. The house was condemned, so everyone had to leave. Why they all left everything behind is still a mystery to me.
This one was the best so far guys. I really love your videos and your respect while you are exploring. You reflect us the real opinions, not exaggerated ones. Videos are just.. amazing.
Thanks, we're glad to hear that you like the new style! :)
Great video and sad as well if the parents of the son are deceased and he is in a care home. You would think other relatives (if any) could do something with the house and give the money for the son's care.
Amazing video - and what a find! It looks like someone could just return home any minute. I don't think you should feel too bad about looking through the house, you treated it with respect and dignity. This is how Urbexing should be done :-)
Ya'll's editing is always spot on and beautiful, but definitely enjoyed the added bits.. adds a bit more personal touch. 🌹🌹
Our goal is to give you the feeling of joining our adventures in a more personal way. Does it work? :D
@@bwturbex it certainly does.. I can see a lot more people subscribing from seeing the explore from your perspective a little more; it's also just fun to see the 'behind the scenes' bits.
Nice detective work on the house. Really sad story if that's the case.
Cornelius is our detective, we're always glad to have him as a crew member!
Without reading any documents, I thought similar things: the older residents have passed away. Didn’t know about a disabled son. Maybe the last one had to go to a hospital or care home and could never go home again. If no other relatives are around, but the last family member is still Alive, no one could take over the home.
I wonder about all the hanging curtains of beads and chains. Seemed like every apartment had that. Was that a popular style in eastern Germany or Europe in the 1970-1990s? Not the 90s, it’s ‘way older than that.
I love the new vid style. Seeing glimpses of your trip prep and post-urbex meals.
I hope to see some still images from the drone flight over the snowy trees. Gorgeous work!
Another great video guys. Looking back at your early work, I see huge improvements in video quality. Keep it going!
Great start to your new 3 part series! From start to finish, your packing to your destination. The house itself is beautiful, and yet holds a mystery..keeps you watching to unravel its clues to the former occupants! Good Teamwork...Be safe into your travels!🤗👍💕💛💚
I have watched other explorers showing their journey details and it isn't nearly as interesting.
I love to see the snow in the German Alps, and you guys being youselves during the trip through, the Diner, the flying of the Drone etc..,all make for a great explore, natural not too staged! Bravo
That drone footage is breathtaking! :)
Agreed ❤️
Was just gonna comment that! Above the trees was absolutely gorgeous!
Such a fantastic find. But so sad to see it just sit to become decay. It looks quite clean for have been sitting like it is. You are so graces to share this with us. I'm from America and 64 yrs old disabled and these videos provide me with wonderful times. To see such simple and graceful living and imagine the love in these homes. Thank you!
I don't think it would matter much what video style you guys use you get it very right. What I really love is that you try to find the story behind the various places you explore. You really are the kings of Urbex. I am now in my late sixties and I think I have seen snow twice in my life. In both cases it was only a very small amount. What drone is that? It looks a bit like Mavic but the transmitter looks different to mine. Please keep up the great work. It always makes my day when I receive a notification in my inbox.
I didn't think in this day and age places like this would still exist, I thought it was only from my childhood that you would find abandoned properties like these.
I really liked the added drive and arrival. Made me feel like I had come with you. Thanks, guys!
That was the goal!
I am so glad that you don't feel compelled to speak English, it great to hear your natural voice, subtitles are fine.♥️
Thank you for the feedback!
This was AWESOME !! "Even if you have to climb onto the roof of the goddamn house" you guys are GREAT I love it !!😂😂 those vines coming in are so cool !! You guys have found a wonderful location and with it comes a wonderful and sad story !! I love your work !! You guys are so silly SNOW !! That food looked wonderful . DRONE FOTTAGE !!! 😍😍 Love the new video style !! Great work !!
Wow! The drone footage is so beautiful! And your reaction to the snow was so wholesome, it was cute :)
What a beautiful yet sad video. Thank you for what you do. Outstanding! Stay safe out there 💗🙏
Thanks Kim, we'll continue exploring as soon as we can leave the country :D
Your new style clearly shows the progress of your skills as videographers. As always, your edits are smooth and never jarring. Your music choices complement the visuals which are, as always very evocative of the mood and emotion brought out by the places you visit. You have grown so much in your skills over the years, and it is good to see you continuing to hone your abilities with each new exploration.
This was a sad story, although one that happens all too often in the world. This home has seen the lives of its family played out within its walls, and now it begins its own slow decay, with none to witness its story but yourselves. Thank you for sharing this beauty and human tragedy with us. You bear witness to the ending of a story filled with the triumphs and tragedies of a family that is no more, and you do it with sensitivity and a simple honesty that acknowledges lives lived as fully as they could be, and a house that waits for a return that will never come. Stay safe out there and keep loving what you do.🖤🇨🇦
aww how wonderfully woven words 😥
Arati Bhattarai Thank you, there was just something about this one...🖤🇨🇦
what I love about your videos, apart from the quality, is how each of your personalities shines through, keep up the phenomenal work!!
This was so Nice! Loved that you spoke your language, and the subtitles.
It's easier to communicate in a natural way like that.
Super Video, BWT. Vielen Dank.
Love your new style, makes me feel like I'm there with you. As always the history you give makes the story real. Waiting patiently (not so) for the next installment.
hi guys from Aus... good work... love it.. my friends just recently purchased a home exactly left the same way in Sinntal Germany... i loved exploring the premises as we cleaned up . the tools ,pics and books we discovered was amazing.. dying to get back to my friends in Sinntal .. keep up the good work
cheers to all
Wow, that's cool! Please let us know if any of this happen with another formerly abandoned home. Would love to document when a place gets back to life.
So sad and it’s happening everywhere. Thank for enriching our quarantine at home in the USA 🇺🇸
Thanks for the info about the family that lived there, somehow it dosen't make it so spooky.
You're welcome!
Wow!! Awesome video ❤️ took me back to the time I spent in Germany, (I lived in Germany from 1991 - 2002) I loved Germany and that old abandoned house reminded me so much of some of the houses I worked in! And the Snow!! Was an extra bonus, I loved the German winters, I lived in Munich, not far from the alps and I miss it so much!! Great video guys 👍❤️❤️❤️
Did you have a job here or what made you live in Germany? The alps are beautiful indeed!
@@bwturbex 😃 hi, yes I was a privat kinderpflegerin worked and lived in various households in Bavaria ❤️ my son was born in Germany although he grew up in England, I would love to come back to Germany eventually, maybe when I'm retired, 👍😊 xx
Really enjoying the additional vlog parts of the video. They add a bit more to the story and make it really entertaining. Definitely looking forward to the rest of this series.
Thanks for your feedback!
I just love the way you tell the story about the house without revealing to much to protect the privacy of the owners. It’s sad what had happened to the owners and the son. It made me realise that we don’t take things for granted and to be content what we have and to love life and the people around us. Life is too short.
Thank you for what you do... You give life and beauty back to the forgotten things. I miss traveling so much. But you help me have wings to see the world I miss
GREAT VIDEO GUY'S LOVED THE CONTENT KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SEE YOU NEXT WEEK KENTUCKY USA P.S. I GIVE YOU A A PLUS 👍👍👍👍
Someone else commented it & I agree- these folks are the National Geographic of Urbex! It’s true!!!
These videos are just in another universe with even the biggest channels!! The humble & respectful approach to document & record the history, the backstory to the places & things, the artistic quality of the photography & videography - it’s just incredible!!!! Each video is a delight! It feels almost like actually being there in person & I always learn something interesting!!
KUDOS!
This is pretty much the only Urbex channel I can stand to watch, if I do watch any videos on other channels I have to mute the volume & fast forward through a lot. Their juvenile approach to the entire project, the inappropriate music, the way they have to handle, poke, prod & move objects, the commotion between the explorers, their ignorance as to the history of the places & things, their disregard of dangerous situations like black mold etc is just beyond annoying & makes it just impossible for me to enjoy looking at the places filmed. This channel has NONE of those issues - AT ALL!!! There’s just absolutely no comparison to be perfectly honest! 👏👏👏👏
I like this new format. It makes the exploration much more personal. We get a chance to know you and feel more like we are there with you.
That's what we thought too, thanks for your feedback!
Perhaps and I realize it isn’t realistic, that if and every one of cared about each other a little more , something like this perps would not happen
Amen.
I'm so glad you love your new camera. It is amazing how an object can change so much..! I love how the history was uncovered yet pure speculation. Idk about German dwellings but this was beautiful work. I wish you guys were the only ones uncovering new locations since no one else seems to care..excellent video and I can't wait for more..aho 👍✌🙂💜💜💜
I like your work, it seems that you have a good crew. Keep exploring and having fun. Hello from New Orleans Louisiana. NOLA. Come explore the city and swamps!
I’m liking the new series, kind of the behind the scenes. I liked Cornelius’s story. By how the house looked to me, it was an older persons house, maybe they passed away, or become incapacitated and could no longer take care of the house. I hope you are all doing well in Germany during this rough time.
Wonderful! I have always loved seeing you guys at work. I also love seeing time capsule hause. So I got the best of both worlds! The cleaness of the video images was also superb. You guys rock and Cornelius was great. Love to the whole crew.❣️
Thanks for your kind words Sandy!
Loved the new videos! Snow was gorgeous! And thanks for the added in subtitles!
You're welcome! Subtitles will be directly in the video everytime we speak German since now!

Great video guys thank you!
I really liked your theory! It seemed spot on to me. The new camera takes nice shots of the house. I have never been to 🇩🇪, so I like seeing the extra footage from the drone.
Your exploration videos just make me happy. After watching them it feels that I have been there exploring and looking around the places you visit. Congratulations for such priceless videos.
I like the new style. Makes me feel like I've gone somewhere! I also appreciate the moment you took to talk about how the place made you feel. Thank you!
Glad to hear that then you'll enjoy the upcoming episodes too I hope :)
I think you may have been amiss, long lost relative maybe estate conflict. Keep us updated.
I love your videos guys, my favorite destination of travel is Western Europe, it is also my ancestry and it feels like home when I travel here. In Canada we do not have Europe's deep history so much but I remember going into old abandoned cottages and having the same respect as you guys do towards the previous owners, cheers my friends.
RUclips does not provide an adequate means to show appropriate appreciation of your work. Like isn't really strong enough. I love your work. They need to provide a heart button.

And how excited u get. Especially when theres verifiable proof of the .👍👍👍👍👍
Well guys.. to tell you the truth I love the snow so more of that would be wonderful for me.. But you all do a good job and I just get lost in your videos and did not really notice the style change until after it was over and you mentioned it.. the question to ask is do you think it is important.. do you think you need these extra scenes to help us (or you) to feel more connected? If so do it.. I like everything you put out and get into it, following the story you weave through to the end.. and never really notice any difference.. For me it is like reading.. as I watch I form in my mind the picture of what was.. and as you continue to paint that picture it grows in larger proportions and more understanding.. If that makes sense..
I really love these remote, low profile places. No vandalism, everything left behind. Perfect.
A lot to explore, we love that too!
Absolutely owesome footage at the end, and the house that you ventured into was beautifully kept yes a real time capsule. Can’t wait to see The Alps, thanks again for taking us along
Great video and a very nice find, you don't find these that often, don't think anybody is alive from that family too much left behind like photos and other things.
It's good that you're so respectful when you go to these places. I think your theory is probably correct, along with others who theorized that they probably rented out rooms until the factory closed and they ran out of money...then the mother died and all was lost.
6:43 - Cornelius checking if anyone witness his fail 😂😂
11:04 - Jump scare! That had me jumped and skipped a beat! 😬😂
Another great vid and new style too 👍🙂
Haha, thanks for the time stamps ;D
I loved the new style! Fantastic guys! I have never experienced the beauty of snow like you were in,hopefully it will be in Germany,in 2021/22. Cheers BWT Team!
Great video going to part 2 so excited Thank-you! 😷🐈👍👌🍀
Thanks for checking out our adventures :)
Love the video keep it up guys
The research is amazing. The photography is awesome. And I can practice my German while trying to figure out what you are saying, but the dubbing is so good! Love it! Only one of the old building channels I have subscribed to. Die Liebe from Canada.
I love the music you guys picked!!
I really like the new video style. Well done! I especially enjoyed the snow too, because we didn't get any this year. I think your friend is right, son became disabled, father died, couldn't keep up w/the house payments or taxes on the house.
Thanks so much for giving me a breather from the stress. I think I'll end up binge watching you guys today instead of CNN🤣. As usual, the videography is so flawless, and the music supports the mood rather than trying to push it. I love seeing the road trip parts, especially the kebabs 😎. That house was so perfectly sad as was that story, which sounds plausible to me. Can you plug any of the names on the documents into the internet? I can relate to that story because to me it seems as if the son was an only child, as am I, and once your parents die you are entirely on your own. The drone shot in the snow was the perfect ending, too. You are by far my favorite of the 200+ channels I subscribe to 💕💕💕
If someone prefers us to a real TV station we might consider asking Netflix to broadcast our show :D
Broken Window Theory No question you’d be better than most of the documentaries on Netflix!
Too much of that media isn't good for the soul. They have an agenda after all
This channel is better
@@bwturbex if you decided to create a full fledged show i would definitely be a lifelong subscriber
Fabulous video! You guys are immensely creative and talented!
Your videos are amazing ,I love to see the scenery with the drones but also the houses that live a sense of nostalgia ,well I live 50 years in Japan but I am a hungarian born after the second world war in Brazil so I can feel in my heart of the places and the stories of the people that lived there .We take life for granted but its important to have gratitude every day for the times we have with families and friends ,your videos shows that thank you :) great pictures
Guys thank you for uploading great content and thank you for not playing loud and crazy music.
Great episode. Didn't expect to see anything for awhile. Thanks!!
Hello! We have a lot of old footage. Will be enough for half a year or so.
The new format is über fantastisch! Keep up the good work guys!
Glad to hear that, thanks a lot!
You really are worthy of the great work you do with the camera. It's the magic eye. It's pretty cool how much better it is to see production values you have. The camera angles, and the choice of focal length is perfect, at least in my neck of the woods. It's the magic that more people need to learn. 😁
We try to develop our own style instead of watching tutorials on how to film modern ;D
You deserve more views. Those drone shots are incredible!❤
Then share it with the world! :D
Loved the video 👍👍👍👍👍 reminds me of the road trip I did to Germany and around Germany the lost places are amazing miss the places I explode and keep safe safe of what's happening around the world 👍
Sure, we will. Thanks for watching!
Great vid. Your theory may be true. I sense a sadness in that house. A sad story indeed. Love the new style too. I'd love to see the snow again. Look forward to more content. Thank you. Stay safe guys.

Flying the drone in that weather was harsh but definitely worth it!
It's weird all the documents left behind and sad. I love the snow BTW, great to see the scenery, very beautiful.
Fascinated that there is everywhere flowers (Roses).. And look more fresh than fake ones. Like always good fascinating video.. Thank you. From South Africa.
