I get not having gear on while using the garden hose, but once the quint got there, it's time to either gear up, or back off.

Yeah... Pretty sure those guys showed up in the command vehicle which is- not surprisingly- parked exactly where the ladder should have ended up... not sure why they don't have (any) gear (at all) on to begin with.

@Anthony Rector Actually, he was smart, but back then almost EVERYBODY smoked, and the military put cigarettes in your rations.
Guess you're the one that's not smart.

Those guys definitely understand the put the wet stuff on the red stuff. Also, to the guy with the comment about the turnout gear, i am not sure why they didnt back off however again they were getting water on the fire. They might have continued to allow the crew to set up out front.

Ok it does look silly but its harder to just stand there and do nothing.

Awesome footage. Gotta give them an A for effort with that garden hose. I hope they didn’t hurt the stick when they came over that mound

Whoever that was- I'm kind of assuming he showed up in the command vehicle visible briefly when the ladder showed up- must have felt an obligation to do "something" even if that "something" was fundamentally useless.

The guy who was using the garden hose did a really great job at preventing the fire from spreading to the trees next to the house, you can tell that he stopped it from getting out of hand by wetting the outside wall down and putting out the fire that broke through to the outside wall, I give him a big thumbs up 👍 for his hard work until the firefighters arrived.

Great balls to the wall firefighting. Kick the fire in the ass fast. Makes me proud to have been a firefighter in a major city for 30 years.
