    Peter Fitzgerald was one of the most versatile drivers I've seen and he was successful in just about everything he raced including GT cars, production cars, sports cars and Group A touring cars. Even on the ovals in AUSCAR he was among the front runners.

    Monaro was just to good can’t believe them turbo cars couldn’t catch him

      Yeah, Monaro was a great car. Bob was a real good driver. Car was much modified from when Geoghegan drove it. Bob was the one who really got it flying. His refusal to change from the GT40 wheels to 16" rims did cost him time. Still a very fast car at Amaroo at a best of 50.2 seconds.
