They softened the crescendo at the end of the new version of the song so it doesn't slap as hard. They also took out the sound of the big clock tower bell at the very end of the song which is obvious if you are looking for it. Overall I'm sticking with the 90s version.

More detail helps, even if the actual animation in the show could be stiff at times. Frankly the new animation is about one notch above Archer in some ways.

Yeah, don't know why, but their faces are really weird, soulless, little creepy. Compare Rogue from the 90s with modern Rogue - modern has this empty stare, like doll. Jubillee, Jean Grey, Magneto and Professor X also look like robots.
They definitely made this series not to replace the original X-Men show but to improve on it. It genuinely feels like they made this for X-Men fans. Not superhero fans, not action fans, X-Men fans specifically.
'97 has brighter colors and sharper image, but doesn't do well with shading / shadows for some reason. most noticeable in Storm's intro, in '97 the lighting on her remains the same despite the dark sky/clouds and lightning she conjures; while in the OG the animators made sure to cast a shadow over Storm when the dark clouds roll in, and also backlit her against the bright flash of lightning in the background.
Yeah I'm honestly not too crazy over new art style just because it's just something with their faces I'm not vibing with for some reason. Not going to stop me though I'll probably get over it
It had to be, it was competing with Batman the animated series intro. In fact Batman TAS intro motivated other great intros like x-men TAS intro, spider-man TAS intro and even gargoyles theme.

They deliberately matched the animation rates (or lack of), particularly in this opening where they're lining up which frames nearly exactly, and the line density is about the same on average, just much more even (the original flipped between bare outlines and absurdly rendered) You can prefer one style or the other fine, or think they should be able to do much better, but either way they're not being lazy here.

It's easier to fix mistakes, less space is taken up by character reference sheets and tools (pencils, ink, loose paper, etc), so the only reason this animation is choppier and sloppier than the old style is that the animators weren't given as much time, money, or direction to work with.
It's so sad how people think digital animation looks better than hand drawn frames the old one may not be as flashy but you can pause at any frame and the detail won't disappear
Its impressive how a giant like disney, with infinity money, and the technology we have nowadays tried recriating something that was definently made on a budget in the 90s and somehow it still looks cheaper than it did back then...
the old one actually looks cheap as hell too, but producing a cartoon was a more hands on art work then than it is today in which they just use some tools. the new one is much cleaner and that does it for me.

Everything about the original version is so much better than whatever it is that they're doing today. The animation is more on point the in betweens are much smoother and just the overall timing and spacing of the frames is better in the original

The original composition is just way more well thought out .. zero lagging moments .. the sounds and the visuals work together New one is shiny but that's about it for me
The new one is smooth normally, this edit adjusted it to keep pace with the old one, a few sections are sped up or cut short as the new intro is a couple seconds longer overall

As a hardcore marvel fan from early childhood all throughout my adult life, the original holds a special place in my heart but if you take away the feelings the new version is better in nearly every way. And thats an amazing accomplishment in itself
