I was hoping that when Gibson went bankrupt, that PRS would buy Gibson. A guitar lover should fantasize about Gibson guitars made to PRS quality standards.
Wow, seeing these kinds of videos showing how much PRS puts in so much effort to make the BEST guitars makes me love them and my PRS guitars even more.
I remember my first Les Paul. I remember my first PRS. (I no longer own either one, haha) But what I'm getting at is, the overall quality of the PRS was so outstanding. Especially tuning stability, intonation and overall rigidity and stability of the instrument, just surpassed that '74 goldtop Deluxe that I once owned. The things that made the LP standout were playability and a really unique tone. I can't say enough about its playability though. It was a fretless wonder. I'm just not a big fan of jumbo frets, which was the only thing I disliked about that 2000 model PRS ce22. (blonde mahogany and maple neck - gosh it was beautiful) But I'm wondering of PRS makes a neck that would be the same as that '74 Les Paul. So hey PRS gurus out there :) can you tell me if I could get that type of neck on a PRS? Cus I don't think I'd buy a late modes Les Paul if that were possible. Thanks in advance................
i cant believe the guy at the end trying to break the neck.....i never thought a neck would be that strong! waiting for my custom 24 artist and and actually realising what ive bought.....sadly makes my les pauls look archaic.
I've never tried a PRS but I really want to. Guitar shops around here in Australia are terrible cause they mainly just stock the high line Fender or Gibson guitars and only low end versions of other brands like ESP LTD's or Jackson's cheaper versions. Still haven't seen a PRS yet to test it out
Seek them out if you haven't yet mate, they are much more impressive in person. Not to mention feel and sound much better to me than a great deal of Gibsons or Fenders
They maybe expensive but owning a ce semi hollow and a 97 ce 22 along with some other guitars. I now realize I will never buy anything but PRS and this proves why.
Beautiful and surely very well made. But there's a lot of snake oil being sold here. Knocking on a neck blank to hear the "tone"? Baloney. Also, if the intent is to get all the water out, then why let the blank sit so long after it comes out of the drying room? If you want it to acclimate, why don't you just dry it less, let it acclimate for a shorter period of time, reduce your inventory cost, and lower the price of the guitar? What's that you say? You're not interested in lowering the price?
Why don't they take your idea, not lower the price and make more money? Could be because they believe what they're doing. For sure, they know more about than you or me.
Nice really nice to have rooms where you can speed up the drying process, and not do it the old fashioned way, which is air dry..Really Paul? It's all about the bottom line..Gotta get these Guitars sold..The whole Guitar business is nothing but bull shit so many crappy Guitars now..But hey its about business..What a joke
Stacking wood in a room to dry it. Shocking. Complaining to complain, without any real understanding. It's called kiln drying, and besides speed, it makes for a more controllable and predictable piece of wood than air drying alone.
PRS probably has the best quality control I have seen. I wish Gibson and other big manufacturers would do the same.

It's videos like this that justify the cost of these stunning instruments... more videos like this please!
Thanks Paul, Paul & Jack!! Great info. & this is why I chose PRS!
the tone in those neck blanks is incredible

Great stuff !!
do the SE models,(Santana for instance) get the same delicate attention as the higher end guitars?

The truss rod helps keep the neck from snapping.
No, it adjusts how straight or bowed the neck is.

Sure it does and results in not so good tone....good luck
+YouKnowItAll So....every Fender, Gibson et al. you've ever played has bad tone? Gotcha.
Tell me another one, great uniformed-sage.
