My Man..bak@aBangUp!! Thaswasup I ended up taking my 2000XL to my Jamaican Electrician! All new tactile switches.. I got into the bread board a little bit… But I’m fixing to get another one! And I’m gonna combo the two… Focus on just getting one good maxed out build! My poison mood swing… Is I’m gonna combo my MPC live two retro… Into my 2000 XL… That’s gonna be my method… Man, brother you are a beast at this !!
I will now clean my CFX-12 after watching your awesome video. Approximately 22 years old. The main fuse blew too. Don't know why. Thank you for sharing this video. 👍 😊
Dude! This IS a great video. The problem I got, I don't live in the US of A. So, when you describe those chemicals (de-oxy), I have no idea what this is, or where to get an equivalent chemical vibe from. I guess that I don't have issues with the OpAmps. I do have difficulties with the connections; as in, they are dodgy, make a load of noise. Moreover, I have issues with some trimmer pots. However, I used this mixer some years back. It's a bummer that I didn't write a wiring diagram. I was using the effects sends such that I could hear what I wanted to hear. In other words, I need to be able to listen to what is being mixed, without necessarily sending this to the DAW. Conversely, I also need to be able to send the total mix to the DAW. I haven't even started on the actual effects, which I won't go on about right now. Anyway, I am trying to work out if it is worthwhile to do what you did in the video. It don't look real complicated, but neither does it look so easy.
Actually I prefer the Onyx for the mic pres. The board I have got the XDR mic pres which are really good but the Onyx mic pres have a much lower noise floor when recording vocals. But since I will be using this one to run my MPC's thru this one will work great for that workflow.
Thank you for the vid. I will be cleaning mine now! I have a CR 1604 VLZ. I can’t see any difference between mine and your 1604 VLZ PRO. Any idea what the difference is? Also, was one 5oz. can of the DeoxIT enough to clean your board?
Not sure what the difference is if there is any at all. Mackie was doing really well with mixers years ago so there are a lot of Mackie mixers out here that have subtle differences but overall are the same as far as specs and capabilities. 1 can of DeoxIT D5 is plenty it goes a long way. Also look into the DeoIT for faders too it has different ingredients for fader knobs.
@@MoodSwingMusikGroup I will check out that specialized DeoxIT. Thanks for the heads up. I check my manufacture date code on my mixer and it is 27 years old! Still going strong!!
Utterly brilliant, astonishing, Vid. I'll be tackling my VLZ probs this week. Cheers mate!
You take gear cleaning to a whole new level , I did that with a MX 9000.
Effin love these videos , glad to have guidance from people like moodswing in this world..

Nice work amigo! Looking at those older boards and they're hidden gold! How would you compare the 1640VLZ Pro sound to the Onyx? Thanks man 💯🔥🎯
