- (January 2023) Here are three of the newest style of Long elevators at the Boulders @ Katy Trail apartment complex in St. Charles, MO. This complex has a bunch of buildings, but only three of them actually have elevators. All of them were installed in 2009 and have proper Innovation Decorator fixtures. Kind of interesting to see the direction Long elevator was going towards the end of their existence.

Those are Amazing and Epic in my opinion! I love innovation decorator! I'ma fan of those buttons! Epic motor too!
These are nice, though I like the older 2000s Longs a lot more.
@@stlelevators are those lights broken outside the elevators?
I agree with what you said in the description. It was interesting to see how Long gravitated towards more generic parts towards the end of their existence.
Seems like a lot of smaller companies went that route.
@@stlelevators Very true. I believe Oliver & Williams (defunct local company in California) did the same thing at their end.
Epic motors! The second one you rode must've been sitting for a while, and I think that one is the most epic. And you didn't even tell me that you were in St. Charles...
The buildings all look identical!
Yea they do, but only three of them have elevators.
Awesome👏 keep it up👍🏾
I was going to ask, when exactly did Long become defunct? Kinda neat seeing some of the last Long elevators to be installed
2011. This was only a couple of years before they were bought.
I don’t know how many long elevators I’ve seen with Innovation but that’s rare. And the motors are epic
You only see Innovation on the late Long installs. I’ve been trying to figure out when they switched from custom parts over to MCE, innovation, and other generic parts.
Sounds like an Innovation Epco Elevator Chime. And the floor passing chime seems vintage. Greetings from Alabama.
The chime isn’t vintage.
All 3 are pretty nice. I.Ike the motor.
Perhaps they were gonna install more elevators but the 2008 recession forced them to only install 3
And I think had Long still existed today, they probably would be an all third party brand with third party buttons, controllers, everything, that seemed like the direction Long was going towards their final years of existence before the eventual acquisition of KONE, wished KONE would continue to support Long equipment though
And during Covid & supply chain disruptions they cut back on installations. During WWI, Great Depression and WWII, they cut back on installations a lot more than that.
There would have been support for the old stuff but also a push to upgrade
The cabs are basic but they are nice as well.
The elevators are nice... much nicer than the buildings. The combination of brick, faux stone, and vinyl siding isn't the most nuanced architecture ever.
No Brandon. He’s the one ruining the elevator community. He needs to stop immediately.
I agree
Stop making it such a big deal, Brandon is not saying harmful stuff at all. if anything you are the guys who are making it seem like it’s so harmful when it is not, what is the matter of stating facts about an elevator? Jason allows it on his channel. And it is not against RUclips’s terms of service.
And community guidelines.
