Fully Complete Mod! SmartRise Hydraulic Elevators at Sugar Land Medical Building in Sugar Land, TX.

- Video Recorded on January 27, 2022: Well guys, guess what? I finally got around getting a fully annual take on both these elevators in their fully completed form at this particular local facility I used to have a doctors appointment in when I was young after years of waiting and requests that I’ve received in the past year! As you remember back in 2018, I did a before-during-after modernization video (especially on the Dover, traditional elevator, since I was able to retrieve parts from there). But now, here’s a take on both elevators after the modernization project was officially complete, which was completed I believe four or five years ago since, but I hadn’t had a chance to revisit this place until now, as I totally forgot about it as well. Coincidentally, I happen to upload this a year ago from today after I filmed this! But in the meantime, these elevators used to have a separate call station apart from each other as they were installed at a different time. Since modernization, it now has a single call station that is connected to both elevator cars, which means that they are now on the same controller in other words. It’s quite unfortunate these got modernized as I really love the brass look better when these were still original as it matches well with the building itself. You can also tell they have even added a voice announcement on both of the elevator cars. Lastly, to say, I’m also glad that I was able to retrieve the parts from the Dover elevator in which I do wish I could’ve gotten the Westinghouse parts, but they have already been scrapped by the time I first discovered these elevators on the chopping block back in summer of 2018. But I hope you guys enjoy this fully updated video of these particular elevators in their full completion, and hopefully I was able to fill your request!
Right Elevator: Install in 1981.
Left Elevator: Installed in 1983.
Both elevators completely modernized in 2018.

I still can't believe they modernized them completely. I remember your first full HD take and how you reacted to the Westy already being modded. I'd say, the mod is not that bad in general, at least there's no more rumbling issues like the Westy had before the mod. Heck, the mod doesn't look that great at the same imo, I'm glad you got the parts for the Dover.

Hey Jim, really enjoyed the premiere earlier tonight! The completion of this extensive elevator modernization after 4 years came out great! I really like the cab designs, voice, the light up green and red sensors, new external chimes, and the epic motors too! I’m going to miss the former 1981 Westinghouse, especially the 1983 Dover elevator too. But I’m glad you were able to retrieve the parts from the Dover, with the Smartrise elevator company, during their process in modernization in 2018! Great video as always too man!

The Dover elevator mod is kinda nice, while the Westinghouse elevator mod is okay I guess. But I'm glad you were able to save the parts from the old Dover. I like them better when they were original, and that moter in the modded Dover elevator sounds a lot better than I expected.
I know that the mod looks boring and generic from what the elevators used to be, but I actually like the Epic Motor from the elevator that used to be a Dover.
Still remember watching your videos when both elevator where original, and during the modding process (Dover Traditional and Westinghouse AE).
I never ridden in a SmartRise elevator before and yes I do remember these elevators back in 2018 I bet those elevators were installed in 2018
I see they've redone the metalwork on the Dover's door frames, interesting they didn't do that during the mod
I won't say its the greatest mod. At least you got some parts of the elevators. I'm not sure why the lantern is so far away with the right elevator. I like the left elevator better
pretty nice mod, but I am a bit disappointed with the removal of the brass... the conventional stainless steel doesn't fit as nicely as the brass once did. I do like the mod itself personally. the voice announcements sound a little weird though

I thought they were gonna be Schindler 6400 Elevators. Seems like they are SmartRise Elevators.
6400 is traction, HXpress would sound better

Hi Jim what is those green and red staff on the door
Those are 3D door sensors. Green means the doors are either opening or already open, whereas flashing red means the doors are closing telling you to please stand clear.
Tbh if I am being honest. Im not a fan of Hydros unless they have cool motors or something interesting about them. Tractions I have seen to be more reliable, and they run better overall.
Anyways, i think this completed mod is interesting to say the least, but the originals will always be missed

It's just the name of the stainless-steel vandal-resistant fixture (the halo version of it).

I think motor is better on bigger cab elevator it’s because the elevator is big I guess
Any elevator can use any motor no matter loud or not.

Meh, I'm not impressed by this mod. It's so boring, cheap looking and the silver is very out of place. If they wanted to modernize the elevators, they should've gone with one of the bigger elevator company's like thysenkrupp or otis. Also, I think we got an epic Phone fail.
That’s true. It’s generic, but at least it’s not bad anymore, compared to the beginning stages of Smartrise’s mod process.
@@ElevatorsInternational yeah, It's holding up pretty well surprisingly given the fact the mod is a couple years old now. It must've been updated at some point since there's chimes and voices now.
At first I thought they were MAD fixtures when they first got modded, but these are the same fixtures as the Cleveland Hopkins Aiport elevator, also I hate that voice to be honest
