Amazing. this one Christian that I knew from prison told me the way to save people that are into sin such as a close relative on drugs, is to take yourself to THEIR environment and make yourself a "friend" as lecrae put it with E-40, but still follow your Christian values. Since then I have found myself in college studying with dope heads and NOT participating in the things they do, but letting them be them and I've made friends and established my Christianity to them and they respect it and I have a few in my church now. Take Christ with you and he will evangelize through you. I appreciate you with that question about the blunt and people cleaning up around you just because you're a Christian. Much love, can't wait for your album
Nicholas Rech May Jesus keep blessing and protecting you brother! Keep being the salt and shining that light...if only most "Christians" would be blessed with the clarity that God gave you, then our faith would not be misrepresented how it is.
Alexandre Furne Ribeiro agreed, and thank you. We need to treat people who aren't as blessed as we are the same, and show them where they really came from.
Darius Jenkins Lecrae performed 2 unreleased songs "broke" & "never gone change" in a concert I went to. You can check it out in my channel if y'all want.
Almost 7,5 years ago I was affected by his music. I didn't believe in Jesus at the time. I was listening to "I'm praying for you" and "Don't waste your life". I was on the hip hop culture with my friends, we were freestyling, making some waterpipe, drinking, chilling... We had our own world of lyrics and music. We liked listening to all kind of different hip hop and rap styles. I started listening to Lecrae and he was not the only influence upon my life to lead me to Christ (my chritian friends prayed for me a lot and there were other elements that played it's role) but he played a big part in it. But it's interesting that almost 7 years ago in April I accepted the Life of Christ. Now I'm walking with Jesus, experiencing His tangible Presence every day, making some traslation works for the Kingdom, preaching the Gospel, healing the sick, teaching, exhortating, speaking Life into people's lives. And I still listen to some of his music, those interviews, teasers, trailers and all the other things influence me positively. I like to get golden nugets out of people, who share from God's Spirit of Wisdom. Isnt't that great testimony? Glory to the Living God! Thank You Jesus for Lecrae, his calling, his music, his devotion, boldness and humility! (Shout out to Lecrae, From Estonia!)
hey, I'm in the process of starting a testimony ministry online. your testimony is really powerful and could help alot of people who hear it. do you mind sharing it on the platform?
From my side , yeah, why not, we can arrange it. But what can I do from my side, we can contact on Skype or I can make RUclips video, since I'm from Estonia myself, currently living in Norway.
+Ilmar Meldre can you give me your email. a written version and video file of yourself giving your testimony would be best. because we're not sure which format were going to launch with. thanks so much God bless!
love how he literally just does his own thing and doesn't care what anybody else's expectations are of himself. He knows who he is and is gonna show it. Truly dope.
It's crazy how B.0.B can say you'd never know Lecrae's a christian rapper by listening to him. If people are actually listening to the lyrics you'd know exactly what he's about. I guess people just ingest context without actually examining what they're intaking.
Crae has been my Dude for years. Started listening when I was in 12 grade, his music along with my faith has help me develop in a man. I keep wondering what is his expiration date and every time he drops some more timeless hits. Love
Thank you so much Sway for giving Christian rappers a platform to share their talents! We Love you and your Crew. @Lecrae keep being real and represent Jesus not religion. It ain't about laws but freedom from the law.We Love you and pray for you Crae. #FanSinceDay116+IamA4C
I just want to say believing in God and Jesus name it's not about religion it's about relationship and Lecrae keep doing your thing Bro God bless you in Jesus name
Acharich Speaks my point exactly the versus that you put in did not say nothing about baptist Muslim Catholic any of that so once again not about man-made religion it's about God and Jesus Amen
if I could sum it up; I believe he is saying that real Christianity which is rooted in eastern cultures is inclusive. Regardless of your color or how you believe or what you believe or your color of skin, you are a person who has value and is worthy of love and respect. versus western Christianity which has roots in nationalism IS very exclusive. So if you don't believe what we believe or how we believe or don't look or act like us then your "out there" or less than. You have American Christianity which is rooted in slavery and that same subtle condescending mindset has been passed down to many American Christians. where as eastern cultures are very inclusive and of color. Christianity isn't "the white mans" religion as many say. Christianity didn't start in Europe but American Christianity is rooted in Europeans who enslaved people and that has spilled over into modern American Christianity within itself. which is why lecrae is judged very often and why a lot of white Christians have downplayed many racial injustices or people standing up against like lecrae. sorry I started rambling but I believe that is what he meant.
Did you hear the question? The response didnt seem to fit. But what does the question of judgement and condescension of Christian rappers have anything to do with white evangelicalism?
mk crown Let put it like this: Judgmental Christian Rappers - influenced by an mostly judgmental subgenre of Christian Hip Hop - influenced by predominantly white evangelical leaders - influenced by other white evangelicals - who were influenced by or created many theological teachings that promoted or condoned slavery (Jonathan edwards, our founding fathers and former "Christian" presidents, etc). many Christian Rappers happen to be condescending because their beliefs are rooted in the same religious system that established this country but also was tied to the condescending nature of slavery.
Didn't like much of the interview, it felt like they were doing the things he said NOT to do & act. Then they did it....loved Lecrae's answers & how he carried himself & shined the light on what he's REALLY ABOUT & he Knows he's a representation of GOD. Thanks for breaking the stigma & blessings to ya 😁
The realness continues on Sway in the Morning! Lol Y'all going to have a hard time next year man. Y'all setting the bar extremely high this year. I am hope y'all prove me wrong.
asheyblack Never.... I can't see it. Shai has one flow. He can't handle dudes with mad styles. Shai rap with the same cadence no matter what the beat is.
Real talk I agree with both of y'all. Both of them are different in style so I don't think you can really compare. The only similarity between the two is their Christ centric theology and lyricism but the flows are definitely different. Shai Linne and Tim Brindle are extra nice w/ the bars and probably better than Lecrae lyrically in some ways but will never be invited on a show like this. They will spit that explicit gospel and ppl will definitely feel uncomfortable (rightly so). Those the real cats that will never get this kinda exposure bc it's the real stuff the world don't want to hear. The world don't want to hear about Christ return, judgement, Gods wrath etc. if it feels good and doesn't talk to much about God then it's ok. Shai and Tim gonna talk about it
yeah "you hear his music and i was like man! he goin in cant even tell he a christian rapper!!" -b.o.b. yeah really this is just like the book of acts 😒😒
when mike muse said that christian artists are condescending and judgemental, who is he talking about? i grew up on a lot of christian music and never heard any lyrics that were condescending and judgemental.
Hannah M Johnon to the unbelievers the Christian standard is offensive to them... Christian rappers hold up that standard... to them it's condescending and judgemental... and Lecrae didn't really address the question...
the christian standard will always offend non christians but just because christian artist live by this standard does not make them condescending and judgemental. thats why there arent any concrete examples of christian artists who act like this. also, CHH was wack for a long time but it wasnt because of judgementalism, it was because of cheesy lyrics and lack of talent and relevancy.
I like this guy overall, he's been doing this for awhile and I've heard his stuff before growing up in the church. Some of his responses were sad to hear. Having a relationship with Jesus doesnt have anything to do with white people or any culture on this physical earth. It is solely the relationship that you have with Christ. This type of rhetoric is extremely divisive because it makes it seem like if your a Christian then your a slave to the white man. This mentality will keep you from the truth and I encourage anyone to seek Him, and not attach worldly issues to things of heaven. Good interview overall and wish him continued success
What I see towards the end around 19:26 is that Lecrae is definitely having a positive influence on the people he is around. Look how the lady (sorry don't remember her name) and Sway advise the listener to pray about her situation.
Wow, why is Lecrae so nice and afraid to offend people? As Christians we are suppose to take a stand against Sin even if that means going against others, being judgemental is apart of Christianity, but most importantly we must all Self Reflect and seek improvement, . Also for Jessica, how is Christianity "the white mans religion", Christianity started within Jesus who was a Black man who lived in Isreal, and also composed of the Bible which shows us how to live righteously, how the hell is that "white"?
I love Lecrae but he should not follow that trail, that all gospel rappers are condescending.I hope he includes himself because not all CHH rappers are condescending. Lecrae please defend your brothers in the Lord bro thats your first family. Dont forget where you come from bro.But anyway big ups i love what u doing.

He didn't mean all. He tweeted out in response to Datin's post that thought the same thing you did that explains it
Some of the lyrics in the freestyle were later used in "Always Knew" aswell. ruclips.net/video/OqNWjeQcRE4/видео.html
as many as lead by the Spirit of God or children of God (Romans 8:14)
That answer 12:19 tho
How do people come in unprepared for the valley of the hyenas when they visit sway?!
