The keb padded hoodie is the perfect companion for your keb eco shell jacket, it can also be used as a standalone jacket for cooler days/mornings/evenings.
Keb padded hoodie
Lightweight and pliant reinforcement jacket with a fixed hood - the perfect insulation garment that slides easily under or over a shell jacket and that takes up almost no room in your pack when it is not being used. Made from stretchy polyester and padded with the new synthetic G-Loft Supreme that feels like down and has an exceptionally high insulating ability, even in wet conditions. The hood is well fitting and has a one-hand adjustment at the back. There are two open hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side there is an open inside pocket in mesh. The front zipper is two way and there is elastic edging at the cuffs and hem.

No one does Fjallraven reviews like you. Much appreciated.
thanks brother!
Currently looking into buying some Fjällräven stuff. Thanks for your videos, they are very helpful 👍
My pleasure brother! Welcome to the channel! :)
Thank you for ur reviews. I bought my keb agile trouser after ur review ❤❤❤ love it
There is a question. Dose keb padded hoodie warm enough with base layer in maybe degrees 0°-5°C ?
It depends what you’re doing, if moving you’ll stay warm!
Luce bien!
Es repelente al agua?
Tratamiento DWR?
Works with dwr!
I have one that I have used as my daily winter jacket for everyday used and cycle commuting in Copenhagen and I must say it is a great jacket.
Yeah, we got the same weather I couldn’t agree more!
Hey Ted!
Currently planning on purchasing some of my first Fjällräven gear and am a bit unsure about the hoods. I‘d love the Keb Fleece as a Midlayer, the newer Expedition Lätt Hoodie as an isolation layer plus my shelljacket. That would be three hoods over each other, does that work for you?
Thanks for your beautiful videos, they do help a lot!
Hey! I think it works, you might want to consider jacket's without the hood but then again it's so nice when you are wearing the separately or only two layers at a time.. I never had a problem with it! :)
Curious, can you compare the weight of this jacket to the Patagonia Nano Air? I've got the Nano Air, but looking to replace it.
You’d have to see the website for that, they weight is there :)
Really nice to see it packed down! I must get something like this!
It’s a great price of kit, you will like it! :)
Great vid Ted....I’ve had mine same colour and everything about 18 months now and until this video I never even realised it had a bloody inside pocket!.....DOH!!!.......great for the trails and the pub but sadly at the moment not the latter.
Thanks bro! Always a pillow when you need one! I’ve seen the same feature on a couple of jackets before, that’s how I recognized it on this model too! :) there will be a time for the pub again, hopefully!
Well made video brother. Keep it up.
Thanks brother, appreciate it!
What fleece is that you are wearing
Keb fleece :)
Good god almighty...I’ve been trying to figure out that certain layer to add a little more warmth w/o bringing a puffy of some sort, even the Keb Touring Down. I love how this packs away into the pocket. The weight, 18oz, that’s great! Thx for solving my prob. I never really looked @ the Keb Padded Hoodie. I love the layering system too; base layer, w/ the Keb Fleece, Keb Padded, & then on the outside if needed, the Eco Shell. Bomb proof. Love it
Thanks Terry! Yeah layering up like that makes it really easy to adopt to all sorts of situations, you won’t sweat, you won’t be cold either! Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I love U’r channel. U keep base’g U’r channel around Fjallraven & all that Jazz & I’ll keep watching, U can bet that, sir. You’ll have @ least 1 fan for life, lol!! 😉 So, my Tahoe got broke into, seriously just a couple days ago, 1 of the main things they took was my work backpack. I work in the wine & spirits industry, so I had a real nice Jack Daniels backpack. It was awesome. Guess what? I got a green light from the wife to replace my work backpack...I’m gonna totally replace it w/ the Raven 28...perfect for work...& I bet anything else I throw @ it too!! I’m so excited. I’m trying like hell to get her to let me buy her the Kanken Toiletery bag. They also took her makeup bag too...weird kids these days!! She wants nothing to do w/ Fjallraven, it’s frustrating...if only she knew...lmao. Thx Ted.
Thanks Ted. I've actually been contemplating getting this very jacket as a birthday present to myself, so this is a very timely video! I wish I could get out in the countryside, currently on lock down in the UK :( Stay safe!
Yeah I hope things roll over soon, stay safe!
Thanks for review..what is the size of this jacket you wearing?
Thanks for watching brother! It’s a size M
Great review Ted! I got one of these for myself last year and came to like it a lot. I was concerned that the side pockets don't zip shut, but they are surprisingly deep, so I don't worry about things falling out when I bend down or to the side or anything. I love how soft the fabric is, though I do worry about tearing it while gathering firewood or something. So far it hasn't happened. Only other complaint is that it seems to hold onto body odor quite a bit, which is a bummer because I love wearing it, but I feel like I have to wash it quite a lot. I use Nature's Miracle (pet stain remover) on the pits, let it soak for 10 minutes, then throw it in the washer with other things. It seems to get rid of the smell pretty well... it's an odd solution but I found it after searching for ways to get rid of BO from synthetic shirts and jackets. Because it breaks down the enzymes and oils, it works pretty well. Thanks for the review and I look forward to more! Take care Ted!!
hey! thanks for the washing tip, I haven't tried it myself but it sounds like a plan! atm the jacket still holds on to some smoke odor, I have to admit that I do kind of like it though, weird I guess but it brings you back, plus it keeps people on a safe distance.. :p thanks for watching brother!
I went with the Keb padded wool hoodie, it's 80% wool, 20% synthetic, I guess that's balancing out the breathability and durability as wool is known to deform. I wanted this full synthetic keb, but 5 - 10 kms hike oders would scare off game while hunting. I absolutely love full synthetic when in deep back country, its kept me warm in below Temps soaked in sweat, all dries up in literally minutes!
Sounds awesome brother, let me know how it preforms after some usage!
Hi Ted, Love your video’s. Is the padded jacket of the same size as the Keb-ecoshell and when you put the eco-shell over the padded jacket, can you attach them in any way?
Hey! No attachment, not needed, I made a video about layers where you can see both jacket used together! Size is same! :)
Another great video on gear. Keep them coming and stay healthy!
Thanks brother, be safe!
Nice video Ted I like how you did the video cuts with the features I may have to borrow that for my reviews. I love fjallraven so durable and functional I have the Keb jacket, Vidda pro pants, and the new keb pants on the way🤙🏻
Thanks brother, glad you liked it! Sure go ahead, I still have a lot to learn, it’s easier if you are two! :)
Awesome! Have you tried the Keb padded wool jacket?
I’m trying to build a layering system and have a versatile mid/ outer
Originally I was just going to get the Skogso padded but with high activity I don’t think it’s breathable enough.
Thoughts on the expedition pack down hoodie compared to the Keb loft hoodie or Keb wool padded for that job/ more breathable so I can wear a shell with ventilation zips on top?
An all in one jacket/ parka is simple and tempting but I run hot and really value ventilation and breath ability (-20,-30c) and longer cuts are preferred. I’ll be re-re-re-watching your videos to try and put together the info but opinion/ suggestions are very appreciated:)
I think I have, it's been quite a few jackets now :)
for high paced activity 1-2 baselayers, combined with a cap, buff and fleece underneath a shell layer you would be good, when stopping I would go with the pack down hoodie if it's really cold. however I believe both jackets will get the job done!
another consideration for those temps could be the expedetion down jacket, I made a review on that one too. not to use when moving but when stoping.
@@TedWeirum I went with another brand for an active insulation piece that had 100/80 g full compared to the lighter 60g of the Keb options, but I did order the Kaipak Jacket as a shell, I was tempted by the Keb eco jacket but my waterproof is still good so opted for a G-1000 option!
Thanks for the response and I look forward to more content and how to sling hip-packs
I've got the padded jacket, now called the lite jacket, love it as either a stand alone on cooler days or as a reinforcement jacket under my keb jacket on colder days. Also the g loft supreme is great for wet conditions as its synthetic and maintains warmth even if wet unlike down
Glad to have you here friend, hope you’re ok!
@@TedWeirum hey we're all good, did a wild camp with the kids in the garden and tested out my new Vidda pro jacket which i love
Hey Ted. Great review as always. I just bought the Keb 72 backpack, Keb trousers and Keb Eco shell, (just trying to support the local business in these times 😏) so i'm all set for my next adventure. Thanks for all the great reviews. I was wondering if you are planning any reviews on the Keb Touring Down Jacket and the Greenland Down Liner jacket any time soon? 😊
Hey Mads! wow, nice piece of kit you got there! I haven't gotten my hands on them yet, it might change soon so as soon as I got them and tried them there'll be a video!
Nice video, what model hoodie is the one you are wearing underneath ? The light gray or tan color? Thanks
Keb fleece hoodie! :)
What colour is this on the website? Thanks
Navy
@@TedWeirum thought it was ha, can't see it on the uk website! Thankyou
Figures! The video has some years on it so they might have changes colors since!
4:32 Hi, what is this baselayer/midlayer you are wearing from fjallraven? Thank you!
It’s the Keb fleece hoodie :)
Another top quality video. I'm going to add that in my wishlist. Having the waist sinch is nice but not always necessary or, for me, not always used. Maybe a couple questions would be, what type of fill does it have and any DWR for water resistance? Thanks. Have a good one.
Good points, I’ll see if I can add that in a future video. When you say “fill” do you mean what the g-loft supreme is made of?
@@TedWeirum Yes, as in what type. If its the G-Loft Supreme, that answers. Thanks
If you get the keb touring outfit matching top and bottom, than fit the keb padded hoodie over top of the touring jacket, because echo shell does not work as well with the soft shell underneath compared to G1000. The touring outfit is soft shell, the regular keb outfit is a mixed G1000 plus soft shell, but the regular keb has that G1000 rigidity to support the echo shell. Anyway I really believe that soft shell (touring) and any padded item are compatible and are meant be worn together. I am still waiting to fully test this theory.
We’ll see if I can get them!
@@TedWeirum The regular keb jacket plus an echo shell (and a backpack) is excellent for every season except for Winter, but come in with the touring full outfit plus the padded matching outfit over top of the touring (no backpack). That covers everything except a merino wool base layer (the wool allows for moisture to pass through it). Only thing that this does not deal with is urban/business fashion jackets which is covered by Canada Goose. If you don't have a regular keb jacket yet than get that first! ...my biggest problem was trying to match the lava red keb jacket with a decent trousers color, but black is much easier even though that lava red jacket is nice. Too hard to match up. Where in Canada s the lava red plus black combination in keb trousers?
@@TedWeirum Another quick story. There is a Fjallraven keb trousers that is 100% lava red. Now the only way to wear that one is to wear it along with a long black trench coat or else a kimono style long coat which is not quite as long as a trench coat. You can see the red trousers but only from the knee down, or else that plus otherwise only from the very front and the knee down on the kimino. The lava red actually works okay that way but that is an especially tough one however it is still possible to make it look very interesting.
Hey Ted, good to see you . It looks like a nice piece of gear. Is it a bit breathable? Like do you build a thin layer of sweat just by wearing it, or can you be a bit active with it. Thanks!
I used it when I was in the camp, I was sitting still for a while and then went to get some firewood and started processing it, I went from cold to warm but no sweat!
Thank you!
How about this vs the Keb wool padded jacket?
I’ll see if I can get my hands on it!
Jätte bra jacka, ska skaffa mig en sådan!
Fint ställe du filmar vid! Orrkojgölarnas naturreservat.
Bästa sällskapet också! Kommer en ny video ikväll!
Hi Ted! Another great video and review! I do hesitate between the Keb and the Bergtagen lite.. any thoughts ? Thank’s
Both are great jackets, if you have the chance to try them it would be easier to decide, if not just trust your gut, you’ll be satisfied with both! :)
Ted Weirum , thank’s!
Can you say anything about the sizing? What size are you wearing?
hey, sorry for the late reply, I got a size M.
cool jacket.... can you tell your specs? I know you had a Medium on but what is your body build? thx.
Hey, I’m 181 cm tall, weight is about 75 kgs
@@TedWeirum cool...thx...im right there with you...5'10 160lbs. Thx.
🤙🏼
Whats the jacket youve got on the inside of this?
Keb fleece
Hi Ted, from your experience can you suggest me size L, I'm 188 cm 88 kg?
In would say L yes!
@@TedWeirum thanks for quick reply! Been watching your channel for long time and discovered perfect outdoor brand and story behind it. I don't know if it is marketing but bought almost everything for layering thanks to your videos....no regrets! It's an investment...😁
I’m a genuine fan of the brand, they like the stuff i do so we work together! :)
Hi Ted.
This is probably my favourite jacket at the moment. Perfect for the UK weather.
We got pretty much the same over here! :)
@@TedWeirum been caught out in the rain and it dries out perfectly, warm, windproof. I really rate it highly 👍🏻
Hope your keeping well in these crazy times brother
Yeah, it’s a good jacket! Still got the Canadian one around? Is there any way we could do a long distance collab review on that one maybe?
@@TedWeirum I have the Canadian wool shirt but not the Jacket.
🤠👍
❤️
What size hoodie are you wearing on this video ?
M!
thank you , you look about the same size as me , what size chest are you ?
That I don’t know brother, pretty big over the chest!
Got my hands on this at a local store and I was impressed. I already have a couple of similar midlayer pieces, like a swisswool jacket from Ortovox, so I don't have a huge need for this but the hood was particularly noteworthy as being a well-fitting shape. Medium fit great and there would totally be room for the Keb Eco shell also in medium to go over this.
You’re the perfect gear critic! :)
@@TedWeirum Fuck it, Teddy. I bought one. Size medium in black. 4% more Swedish now. It's actually a nicer fit than my previous jacket in this midlayer role. Going to work great over a wool gridfleece. Now to sort out if I need to carry this and the Pack Down Hoodie on winter overnights.
Rewatching for fun.
Good times!
@@TedWeirum this Keb Padded Hoodie or Expedition X-Latt jacket?
Keb padded hoodie! :)
@@TedWeirum I was able to get the Expedition for $60 though! We'll see which one I keep, I like the mesh but the pockets aren't zipped.
Nice bargain!
good to see u again bro
Oh I’m around! Nice to hear from you too brother!
Tack👍🏻
Stay safe!
My pleasure! :)
