Thank you so much for demoing this for us Crabbok. Very much appreciated. Those Vipers and Raiders look fantastic. Kinda funny whenever you mentioned X-wing or like X-Wing, he always referenced it to the World War era games, heh heh. Nice that you pegged him on a release date. Did he mention what would come in the starter set? Very interested in this game. More-so than X-Wing 2.0 to be honest. I see how they get you to buy the multiple copies of the ships with the hull numbers on them being different to represent the different pilots. I would imagine that if you buy Apollos Mk.II Viper you would get the Apollo pilot card and maybe some blue squardron pilots, and if you were to buy say a Serena Mk.I (Original Series) Viper you might get her Pilot Card as well as some Silver Spar Squardron Pilots. Very Very cool. I like the momentum mechanic, I like the elevation mechanic. Definitely a slightly more advanced X-Wing. How were the plastic movement/acceleration/elevation gizmo's. Did they feel cheap? Did you have to insert anything into them ie a pilot card/movement card? Will that star map with the Battlestar on it be available on launch? Would look great under FFG's board game (although it would look like another Battlestar running beside the boardgames Battlestar). Did they give you some swag for doing the promo? (Only ask because when I promoed Robotech Tactics last year Palladium books gave out a Rick Hunter Veritech Fighter with every promo). Great Vid Crabbok. Please continue to cover this one. :) Good to see that you got out to floor to be able to play too and not just teach. Safe journey home.
Models look fantastic and I love the little control consoles. I’m a bit skeptical of how playable it would be with large scale battles with battle stars and Cylon base stars on the board with loads of fighters, but would love to see them make it work. There’s not a huge variety of ship types when compared with x wing, but it’s the kind of game where you’d want more multiples of the same ship types
There were also a deck of "maneuver" cards that you would move your ship forward. You would place two cards in front of your ship and move accordingly.
Could be interesting, but I'm still not convinced yet. As far as I can tell there is an extremely limited number of model types so barring painting your own it could get confusing remembering which ship is being piloted by which character in larger games. Also, you name the game Battlestar Galactica, and yet at release you don't feature the Battlestar Galactica?? This would work so much better on a scale similar to Armada or the Deadlock videogame, with Basestars and Battlestars slugging it out with entire squadrons of fighters. As such the dogfighting mechanic seems cool but I worry about re-playability. I'll keep tabs on this, but I doubt I'll buy in just yet.
Chris Draco Ross actually I was designing a hybrid tabletop game that was doing just that. If I could post pictures in here it would speak volumes. There are resin kits in that same scale as well. Plus since I can 3D model and have a 3D printer. I can create and print out ships like the Loki.
Jamie Martinson that would be epic. Moebius has kits and a guy named Jack Burgin makes some on the same scale of different types and classes. I have high hopes for your designs
Thank you for spotlighting a game with potential. I have not seen it previewed on any of my other subscribed channels. Was there any mention of doing models from the original TV series from the1970’s? I remember fondly watching these shows and never got into the new series but I have heard it’s good. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 👍
This game was fun if you like being confused, I kept referring to X-Wing the whole time much to the chagrin of the demonstrator. One game between 2 ships took over an hour, LOL the demonstrator by the end was annoyed by how elusive I was. The game felt clunky and not very intuitive, spent a lot of time bluffing, chipping away at each other and miserably rolled snake eyes when I FTL'ed and got blown out due to drifting perfectly into their guns. We didn't even attempt playing with the pilots that looked like it would be more fun...and complicated.
Just 1 thing made me raise an eyebrow. Having to pick up the mini to adjust the inertia dial on the base. He didn’t seem concerned about maintaining the integrity of the ships placement. Assume you would need to mark the ship position with a token or something similar in an actual game or else make this dial less resistant so it could be adjusted without lifting the mini off the play area.
Finally, a sci-fi license that is not Star Wars and is not Attack Wing. Though the rulers look rather impractical, they need to be thinned and the numbers made bigger so people like me can see them - that is the one thing that would stop me buying it - small text that I can't read.
Really don't need to make things so complicated to have a fun game but I do agree it can't be more than 3 to 5 ships per side. Could have just did with X-Wing did and have one version until it got popular and just switched it with the next version.
hmm, the idea of this game is appealing to me, but I'm not impressed with the wrong scale ... the Cylon Raiders are considerably larger than the Vipers in the Series (as is clearly visible, when Starbuck commandeers a Cylon Raider and brings it to BSG) ... if this is not fixed I'm hesitant to buy it, as it's just completely wrong
Agree. I can understand that they maybe made them a little smaller then they should be. but I dont understand why they are made smaller then the vipers.
Should have duplicated the combat portion of xwing. It a better dice damage card system also I hope you can remove elevations since there are no elevations in space. Seems like extra mechanic management without need
Exactly what I thought after a demo since multiple times in the demo we both had our ships ''on top'' of each other, I was like ''We don't hit each other?'' This game needs to be more intuitive and fluidic, X-Wing has that.
Disagree. I'm bored rigid with the Star Wars license and am expecting FFG to launch a Star Wars Zombie Cthulhu set soon. Thank goodness for something new, something fresh and yet also something familiar.
Thank you so much for demoing this for us Crabbok. Very much appreciated.

Core Set is supposed to come with 2 Vipers and 2 Raiders. No Swag, but I'm happy with the demo.

Thanks for the preview, can’t wait for this to come out! Hopefully we will see some demo games as well.
Yeah! This looks fun!! also wanted something that has the bit closer to "space combat".
Definitely interesting game, plus an IP that I really dig. I'll be watching for news on this as we get closer to release

Brian Henry could always do it with the Moebius Models :) image a full on fleet battle with 20 or more of those capital ships on the same board

Chris Draco Ross ah good you know Jack!
Jamie Martinson I know his work, wish I had some of his models and space for them. But yes I’d love to see this all come to fruition
Thank you so much for making this video. I love the new BSG.
I'm more excited for this than I thought I would be!
Did they have “Hotdog” Costanza?
Yes Thank you for this! Love BSG the miniatures are awesome and I like the mechanics ! Very cool game!
Old school Cylon ships would be so much better!
Agree. The old Cylon ships always looked better, as did the old Vipers.
Everything in the 70's/80's was better 😁
I heard a Wilhelm scream. Did a stormtrooper go down at the Legion table?
I like the crunchiness. I like the drift. Elevation is always messy. Biggest problem is I dunno who among my usual groups would be in for this
How cool would it be if you could crossover with X-wings vs Vipers.
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed to hear these are larger than X-Wing scale for that reason alone.
Mel’s miniatures on shapeways do some nice looking X wing scale BSG ships that are compatible with the x wing bases
@Bardylon was about to say the same thing. They even come with Xwing peg-slots. :D
Which was your favorite Battlestar Galactica show the classic or the remake
Remake
I'm sure many people would love to buy a full sized cap ship at this scale
Thank you for posting.
The elevation mechanic sounds very cool.
Very cool. Wish I could afford another game system now. 😁

Yes, I read an ICV2 article that says that both the classic and re-imagined series have been licensed for the game.
Yup they are planning old series stuff as well

Holy crap I feel like I just sat down in calculus.
Chris Johnson
Calculus is fun.
I think they offering a course at the community college to play this game
I wonder if the success of fantasy flight star wars space games (x wing and armada) caused Battle Star Galactica to try their hand in miniature games.
Kinda cool. Never got into Battlestar. But looks interesting
Now how do I tie this into my BSG TBG game.
Looks like another fun game
Ships look great.
Pretty sure you would lay the maneuvre card, then as you pick up the model to place in front of it, adjust dials.

I liked before I watched it. And then watched it unchanged in my estimation.
I might pick this up if I can
take my money now

Ares stepping in on FFG's territory

Agree. I can understand that they maybe made them a little smaller then they should be. but I dont understand why they are made smaller then the vipers.
There's a reason why popular fighter games don't have height or drift, it doesn't work.
I play BattleTech and this seems too crunchy with too many moving parts even for me.....
Should have duplicated the combat portion of xwing. It a better dice damage card system also I hope you can remove elevations since there are no elevations in space. Seems like extra mechanic management without need

when can we find this in stores
I've heard it would be in December.
they want to launch by late November.
Sigh. My wallet is already crying. LOL
I think I'll stick to x wing
I know what I'm doing at pax :D
NEEED!!
7:00
The elevation rule looks terrible.
Way too complicated. Models look good though.
Just not feeling this at all I think it’s going to nose dive badly. My mula is definitely heading to x Wing 2.0 and so you everyone else’s.
Disagree. I'm bored rigid with the Star Wars license and am expecting FFG to launch a Star Wars Zombie Cthulhu set soon. Thank goodness for something new, something fresh and yet also something familiar.
Looks too complicated and at the same time less strategic compared to X-Wing.
play it instead is very simple and real-time clashes (there is no initiative) forces you to plan the maneuvers well.
