  • In her talk, June Oh explores her struggle with emotional expression and the transformative power of writing. Through the creation of a fictional character, June discovers catharsis in writing, a therapeutic outlet that expands her traditional emotional vocabulary. June Oh is a 15-year-old California native who currently attends North Hollywood High School. Through writing, she is able to transcribe her deepest thoughts and perspectives into words. She finds these pockets of catharsis to be the "hidden treasures" of life, which can be enjoyed by anyone who dares to read her work. As a TEDxNHHS Youth speaker, she is thrilled to be able to share these moments with the world and hopes others find the same joy in writing as she. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

A "character arc" is the transformation or inner journey of a character over the course of a story. Thank you for sharing your story. It seems as though your voyage to self discovery gave you knowledge of your abilities and self realization.
