Thank you all so much for watching this video! It took some hours out on the water to learn and be successful. It is a big ocean so it isn't easy but I love a challenge and luckily in this episode we found some nice Permit, Grouper, and King Mackerel!!!

Boring??..Are you kidding me Rich?...NEVER..I truly enjoy every single episode..You have no idea what your videos mean to me..I am a 63 year old Native Floridian that fished my whole life,, But unfortunately i would become disabled 14+ years ago & have been in 24/7 severe pain ever since (which can't be fixed/cured) also have & will continue to only get worse,, But my point is,, Thanks to you & your videos,, I feel like i am right there with you & being able to fish once again,, THAT brings me much pleasure & helps (mentally) take me away from my world of pain,, So as you might imagine,, No matter how long or short your video might be i enjoy & appreciate every single minute of them..Had i not have become disabled,, I would have really liked to have met you & even had the chance to go fishing with you as well..Over my lifetime i have pretty much fished all of Florida & I would have blown your mind & taken you to a place that is not only beautiful,, But also is known as/to be W.G.T.F. = World's Greatest Tarpon Fishing,, BUT it also holds the LARGEST/MOST varieties of different types of fishing spots ANYWHERE i know in Florida & What's even more crazy is,, ALL of that is packed into a small area,, I have mentioned it to you before & although i can't go with you,, know that i would DEFINITELY be there with you in spirit,, I truly pray that you will take my advice & go there/investigate it,, You will also find the people/fishermen/guides/etc. ALL extremely friendly & helpful (added bonus:: there are also really good restaurants there)..I am speaking of Gasparilla Island/Boca Grande,, Which by the way,, The island is named after the famous pirate Jose Gaspar,, He was also known for being very boisterous (obnoxious loudmouth 🤪) Which is why the center of town on Gasparilla Island is named Boca Grande (Meaning Big Mouth) Most people don't call it Gasparilla Island,, It is more commonly called just Boca Grande..i know that you would thoroughly enjoy it,, but an even more so is that because of the huge variety of areas/types of fishing spots within a small area,, would make it an excellent opportunity for you to do a popular & successful series there,, just as an example of episodes possible,, "The Pass" on the island is the most famous & where the majority of Tarpon are caught,, But it is also deep making it great for catching Groupers of all kinds,, etc..The bay areas on the island are great for catching Saltwater (Specks) Trout,, Flounders,, etc.,, Even one bay area that i know i describe as almost like (and may very well be) A Black Tip Shark Nursery,, Because during like a 3-4 month period (for whatever reason) You can catch (what i would say is) Teenager Black Tips all day long if you want..Another episode could be fishing all the many inlets/bayou's/canals if you will,, They always hold a huge variety of fish & never knowing what you might catch,, One of these areas is known as "Ski Alley" & if you ask a local/fisherman/guides,, They will gladly tell you how to get there/where it is..Also Offshore fishing is great as well (Once again,, You can ask a local/guides/etc.) They will be more than happy to give you some tips/areas/types of fish to expect to catch there..A friend of mine (before i was disabled) used to take us to an offshore spot where would mostly catch the usual suspects like Mackerels,, Mahi Mahi,, etc..I could go on but i think you get the idea & once there,, you would also find other great fishing areas/types (like the old abandoned train trestles) on your own that would also be worthy of an episode..Finally,, last but definitely not least,, Another HUGE bonus with Boca Grande is that there are almost unlimited areas/places that you can catch (cast net) tons of good baits of different kinds..I TRULY hope that you will trust/take my advice & go/visit/fish there Rich,, I can promise that you won't be sorry you did..Sorry for the novel Rich 🤪...Which by the way,, Copies of my novel are on sale in the lobby..And YES,, of course i will personally sign your copy for you. 🤡

@@KaryVi Thank you so very much,, you are very kind..I appreciate the well wishes,, but unfortunately I have & will only continue to get worse..There is no fixing me/cure..I wouldn't have been able to deal with it,, but fortunately raising myself since I was 9 years old,, made me a pretty though person,, but I do admit,, it's no way to live out the winter of your years..I just do the best I can each day..Thanks again for your kindness.

I love to explore new waters and try to crack the code. In the end of the month I’m actually heading over to the west coast for a trip with the Salt Strong crew so that should be fun! Yellowjacks can grow almost as big as amberjacks (not great amberjacks). I already caught 25 pound yellowjacks here in northeast Brazil.
Oh wow!! I’ve never seen them that size. That would be fun to catch. Where in Brazil? Planning a trip to north Brazil.

I tried Permit once and I really didn’t like it. I prefer the smaller cousin the Pompano. The king was good! And the yellow jack was really good!! Sounds good though did you shoot me an email about a trip? fishaholictv@gmail.com

Just wanted to know where you were staying down in the keys? Planning a trip there for February. We're just trying to figure out lodging, compare prices, that sort of thing. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I stayed at Coconut Kay resort in Marathon. It was pretty nice. We had a canal room and it could sleep 4 but it was just my and my buddy splitting it. It was $1300 for 4 days and it included the dockage for the boat.

At what depth must you use a descending device?
In Florida it’s a law to have one when bottom fishing. But I would guess 70ft and deeper.

They were blacks you can see the difference on FWC. They are very close but the tail and color patterns are slightly different
