- I thought long and hard about what my answer would be if someone asks, overall what is your top likes and dislikes from owning and riding the CB350 since launch... Well, here in this video, I hope I have made a fair effort of answering such a question....
There are a lot of reasons to love this motorbike, but I was able to guess your 2 dislikes before watching them. .So this may resonate with most of the users. The horn thing is not nitpicking since the ability to grab someone's attention is crucial to survival on Indian roads (unfortunately), honking at the right times can sometimes save you and others. I got accustomed to the placement of the horn switch, but the fact that they have horizontally flipped it too, makes matters worse. You really have to extend the thumb to reach it (depends on where your grip is). And I started doubting my riding skills whenever I felt I needed to slot to first gear to take speedbumps 😂 Ride safe brother !

thanks my man. Spot on about using the horn in our country. If it was worse before, now with mobile distraction, the horn is probably an even important safety feature than the helmet!

I love dropping one gear and revving hard in the city. This engine loves to revv.. waiting for your pick between the new classic and Highness.. Also I think it can handle speed breakers in 2nd gear itself. I never went to first gear for speed breakers

Nice to see you on honda again. Its been a very long time i have seen you riding Honda. Green tank is looking amazing on this bright day. I think you are having a very pleasure ride being below 100 most of the time and enjoying each minute. Looks cloudy and early morningish. at what time you started this drive. Waiting for that full box video on honda.
I ride the CB almost everyday Sudhee, sometimes just for the sake of it. Just that I dont record videos on it, thats all. Yes, these days I love the sweet spot of about 80, as that speed I feel is the ideal one where you are quick, but not quick enough so as to miss the good sights of the outdoors around you! 😃

Though I rode both Classic 500 and Honda CB350 RS (Proud owner) I feel less power but I came from 100CC Bajaj CT 100 I am am fine with the RS. And one thing I love the most is when you are in lower gears like 1 or 2 gear in lower RPM then you try match RPM as per current gear from lower gear, engine makes that smooth super smooth sound that's make me smile what a machine it is❤️. Also for other's it's not Honda Bullet by the way it is Honda Helicopter 🚁 pat pat ❤️. I am Happy with Honda CB350 RS Red ♥️.

Totally agree with you sir. The placement of the horn and indicator is irritating. I have a Honda Unicorn 150cc as well. I don't want to be in a situation where I feel more like riding the unicorn instead of the Highness. Extending the thumb is so irritating as well. It won't be long before the competitors notice this point and make a point out of it as no one else has this problem.
Nice video sir...closely following you since last 11 months. Me too a owner of cb for 9 months and the pros u mentioned is exactly the same to me 2...waiting for your comparison video of cb with other in the segments , especially the new classic

According to some reviews there are 4 problems with CB350.
1. Battery / Self Start
2. Wobble
3. Brake Pads
4. Rust
Strangely I have experienced none of these problems. My allotment was in the first lots - could there be some quality issues in the later productions? Not sure!

@@skynet_cyberdyne_systems I have done 6000 km - its primarily my city bike, but many of my friends have been on tours and long distance and I have not heard any issues. Only one of my friend had a battery issue (due to a brake press bleed) and had to have his battery changed. This is only 1 bike among more than 5-6 bikes in my group.
I had been in 2nd gear in most of traffic times, ya if i manage 2nd gear in speedbreaker and in signals power will be low, but it got used to me.... With this butter clutch Im damn ok with frequent gear shifts in city😄😅
yes the clutch does make it a lot easier for sure. This is the god of clutches!
Honda CB 350 had to be my first bike of my life. But unfortunately due to service issues and no big wing showrooms near my city , went for meteor 350. Heart still goes for Honda Machine.
oh thats regrettable. However, Meteor is not at all any less of a fine machine!
I too have this bike since Feb, in addition to the negatives you mentioned, I find the front suspension painfully hard.

Sir how much its costed for 3rd service
In 10 months of my riding, I’ve learned to maneuver with my CB350’s tall gearing. It can easily pull in 2nd even from almost stand still, in 3rd from 20 kmph and in 4th from 40 kmph by managing its featherlight clutch. Actually pulling on higher gear in lower speeds with lightly applying the clutch makes the thump sweeter with longer notes! But don’t even try this on 5th gear for anything less than 60 kmph!
Agree with you, I am generally a low revs rider. Someone who keeps the engine in high revs, as a general riding style, can do those in all those gears you mentioned, but my personal style is a bit of a calmer style.
@@Motoccino I too hate to rev the engine be it a bike or a car. I think you got me wrong…you don’t need to rev harder to pull from higher gears and lower speeds with clutch. The engine sounds sober when you do so and the thump note becomes longer!

Change sprocket, reduce front or increase rear. Tall gear, usually smoother long-stroke engine, better mileage.

All points are 100% correct . Cb350 became my daily ride and yesterday when i was riding my activa i pressed indicator in need to press the horn.🤣👍🏻

The first two cons that you said are in fact major issues in this bike, though not major enough to discourage the buyer.
Do you find the two small mirrors pasted on the main mirrors useful?
How is the heating? How is the rusting problem in this bike. Have you used the premium petrol, for eg. SPEED for your bike? What is your mileage on that fuel? Have you used nitrogen in your tyres?
yes, the blind spot mirrors are extemely useful. No heating in the bike. Minor rusting only, nothing to worry about. I use normal petrol and get economy of about 35. I dont use nitrogen.
Great video at a great time. Planning to buy one. But sadly they said matte green color production has been slowed down

But I was thinking more along the lines of you borrowing a bike for a test ride - or at least a walkaround. Edit: I just realised which episode you were referring to. I had watched it some months ago but I'd forgotten.
The gear ratios is why I have a suzuki intruder for the city that is superb to even holding 20 in 5th or can take off from 2nd, and the honda highness is purely for the highway where I can stretch the gears. If you a want one bike that blends both the power and the gearing, look no further than either of the gixxer 250s

Yes, will happen. I am trying to get RE to give me at least a 2 hour window with the bike for me to at least get a fair idea.
Instrument console needs to have tachometer. It adds to bulk of front and defines how lively engine is. Battery needed to be larger . Accelerator cable set feels over hanging and doesn't balance front console very well. Rest bike is almost most accomplished and complete bike for India conditions .
I also initially thought a tacho would have been good to have as a second clock to balance out the look, but I dont think so anymore, there is a lot that the "feel of the revs" tell you than a clock, atleast personally for me. The rest of your points, yes
The exhaust note is superb! But will this be a disadvantage while one enters a forest range? As forest officials won't allow vehicles with high exhaust note?!
Not really, I myself have been several times through forest ranges with manned forest officials as have several other people on this bike. Although loud, I don't think the sound is that loud that startles animals. Last saturday was one such example, where my friend was on the CB and most of the stuff you see in that video is through forest roads.

Hi after watching your videos I have finally booked CB350 is there any specific speed limit I should limit to when I get the bike till the first service ?
Ideally shud not go over 80 kmph …and only ride on 5 gear once u pass 60 kmph …also keep looking at the economy light on the speed console …the more it is on green colour u doin a good job where mileage is concerned …also try and complete 750 - 1000 kms before your first service which is usually in a month …I did around 950 kms and was very particular on the above and believe me it was very hard not to cross 80 kmph …but in doin this the way the engine has now opened up is just awesome

Hi …is it a hassle to keep on changing gears on this bike in the city ?? I’ve been reading about this nature of gearing on the CB 350 (as compared to the classic 350) ..
It actually still is a bit of a bother, even after a year +. Inspite of the super smooth clutch and super smooth gear changes. I really wish I didnt have to change so often. On the other hand, I do enjoy the Himalayan more due to the lesser number of shifts - on this aspect. 😑🤷♀️
I come to this bike from an r15 v2 which needs constant change of gears due to quick rpm spike and when a breaker comes i alwayshad to shift down to gear 1 as it is has a stiff suspension setup .... so if you are coming from a similar bike it wont be a problem, even if you're not...it's not that big a deal... if you don't like changing gears just get yourself aerox or activa or vespa or something (*not being rude*)

Service network yes, the color options seem adequate to me personally though! I would have loved an all-silver one for sure!
Just one question, does the sound from the exhaust fade gradually or it remains the same through out (you must have owned it for almost a year) ? Hope the exhaust decibels don't decrease with time. Please answer. I have to take a decision between RE and Honda cb350.
Definitely not my friend. Its the same, in fact slightly more bassy sounding now.
@@Motoccino Pradeep ji , probably yours is the very first lot of the motorcycle production line up, yesterday a CB350 H'Ness (seemed a brand new one) went past me on the road, the exhaust was not at all noticeable (the sound did not give me the usual base effect). Anyway thanks for answering the questions of the viewers. Please carry on vlogging with the same humbleness. Seems I have to go for the more comfortable seat - that is the RE classic.

@@siddhucreations4715 Yes, absolutely you should in my opinion. Alternatively you can also consider the art of motorcycles RD style handlebar, which gives you height and even wider handlebars. Two of my riding friends use it already and are extremely happy with it.

This is my concern as well.. but since I have only one bike.. am getting used to the horn .. it's gearing is as tall as a coconut tree that really annoying since it lacks torque in lower speeds , but it's rev happy engine actually eliminates the tall gearing issues a bit.. sound is like thunder .. am sad that it's torque not very useful because it's odd tuning.. okay nobody is perfect..
yes despite all of this, its a very enjoyable bike. I can't wait to ride it everyday, the bike just calls me to ride! 😃

I only like the rumbling sound : I m not a fan of loud sound. Is there a way to reduce the volume and increase the performance
haha, I don't think there is, other than modding and playing with baffles etc. However people actually love this sound, so no one's done anything in that direction as far as I know.

Not much actually, since this is literally my "City Bike" and with WFH. Has run around 4000. Second service may have been around 3K, purely due to the time factor immediately post May lockdown.
In the whole video did you figure out any point where you followed traffic rules? 😀

Do you face the wobbling issue, which has been highlighted by a lot of users after crossing 10,000 KM ?

I did not clock 10000 km on it at all. Its tall gearing and short on torque and power - this behaviour resulting in frequent gear changes in city, is something that just wasnt for me. So I sold it around the 5-6k mark and got the classic 350.

Until now, the term "Big 4" was mostly used by Indian Herpetology community (for Snakes) and by Chartered Accountants' community (for Audit Firms).... Thanks to Pradeep, it will now be used by Motorcycle enthusiasts too (for the 4 major Japanese Two wheeler Manufacturers)...😁

2. Does it feel underpower while riding in hilly region?
1. So far not majorly. However when I removed my plastic bar ends to replace them with the carbon racing one, I saw rust inside the handlebar pipe hollow
2. Rather than saying underpowered, you will have to frequently keep going between gears 2 and 3, and for a really tight hairpin, even the first gear.

This Honda bike failed miserably at higher altitude, even after paying good amount of money you don't get satisfaction. Honda is known to make excellent product globally but for Indian audience they launch sub-standard product.
My request to all CB350 youtubers is please be more critical about this bike. We do remember Royal Enfield took 10 years to improve their products because there was not much public demand as people were more or less satisfied.
Don't let japanese makers sleep in peace, even a 20 year old bullet could do Ladhak. Why can't this bike do Ladhak?
Yes, there are many areas where the entire thought process failed by them, the high altitude being one of them!
