I'm so happy you guys FINALLY are working together I have owned one of these since last summer and it's got to be the best toy I have ever gotten, repairs are finicky but when it works it works like a dream. Doing 360s and just carving the streets is amazing since I live in Florida I feel like it really improved my snowboarding when i went to CO a couple months ago
You should try a one wheel, totally made me better at snowboarding. I started this season better than I left off last season because I was one wheeling everywhere!
JB you all did WAAAYYY better on this thing for the first time than other folks did from me watching their snowboard channel. Like way better. I've got Cardboard = long board with pneumatic wheels (inflatable wheels) where the deck in on a pivoting truck (deck moves just like a snowboard & surfboard because deck is mount to trucks on springs). AND it's way safer. BUT you can't get these now except 2nd hand. So the summer board is the next best thing. Fun! I went skating today...for the cardio.
One wheel is easier to ride off the start but is limited in what you can do. Summerboard is harder to learn but once you learn you can start doing cool tricks just like a real snowboard. One wheels just get you from place to place.
No idea if my comment on your wakeboarding video is what caused you to learn about Summerboards, but it’s awesome that you were able to be sponsored by them and to try them out!
Advise folks to wear protective body gear on outdoor surfaces: helmet, wrist guards, ? knee pads (G-force hard shell over gel) and ? butt crash pants or pads and ELBOW pads (hard shell + G-Force). There are way more things to hurt falling backwards or forwards off this thing. I have an electric long board & it's risky business falling on concrete on ANY bony surface without pads usually means a broken bone.

J.B. Freebord is the real deal snowboard alternative. Get your hands on the 5X and you will be hooked. Also, that thing should have the bindings on it... learning without is the same as trying to learn to snowboard without bindings. Not a thing. A bit shady that they even sell those without the bindings.
I never said it didn't come with bindings I said on day one summerboard recommended to leave the bindings off. The next video will have the bindings on it.

You are using the hill and gravity to control your decent. Speed checking and carving to control your speed rather than incorporating a controller in hand to accomplish your speed control. I hesitate to sound cheezy, but it is a much more free feeling. Among other reasons. Then of course there is the price. The Summerboard is a cool entry into the electric board world, but the price is insane, especially if you are looking to mimic snowboarding. It can be done for a fraction of the price and more similarly on a freebord. Ok ok, if you live in the desert flats somewhere, get a summerboard, but if there is a hill anywhere nearby, freebord, you will be happy and have a lot of money to spare to go out and also buy an electric skateboard for the flats and fulfill your electric board urges.
Noticed you all start to fall backwards mainly because you are standing way to erect or up on the board.. You have to get much deeper in your stance without bending over on the toe side and definitely deeper knee bend on the heel side. Just like with snowboarding - once you get up a little more speed (& have waaayyy more space to use, in a deep knee bend you can pull a 360 on that summer board.

Yup.Seems like it would give you more room & less distracting objects to add to the anxiety of learning to ride the board. Still you guys did extremely well for the first time - a testament to your snowboarding skills 👍🏽😀

You can do smooth 360s on this, one-wheel however is limited. Summerboard will make u better at carving!!

How similar is a ribstick to a snowboard? I'm a skier but it seems like its a snowboard in a way.
Its completely different, even a normal skateboard is more similar to a snowboard than a ripstick

Onewheel mobility and range are far superior. I can turn on a dime, ride switch, and concrete is like a groomed run with fresh carves all day!!!

Courts are too short. And the poles and nets are a barrier. I use an well paved large parking lot.
