I just bought a couple of cree 2200 lumen lamps and wanted to see one in action. Man, I enjoyed this vid, but the comments section is even more entertaining! "Ride on like gandalf in the night"!
one of the better comparison vids i have seen. real world comparison. great job. I've given a few of the 2000lm ones away to friends. but i'd like to do a comparison between a few different cree lights. 2k, 6k,10k etc. they are not that expensive and as long as you don't melt the circuit board leaving the higher power ones on too long, they should last
Great review. I bought two of these because of it and am simply amazed. But I have to admit, @ 8:10 or so I minimized the viewing screen, lowered my speakers' volume and sat as far away from my monitor as I could comfortably manage. All, mainly because I expected the sudden appearance of witch's face, screaming at me in that horribly agonizing voice, infused with terror and pain and insanity and all things macabre. Thanks for not going there.
I liked this flashlight so much, I bought one for each member of my family, with extra batteries, wall warts, and cig lighter chargers. It works well on mid zoom for my electric bicycle at 20mph at night. Love 'em! And if a raccoon or other perp strikes at night, I can blind 'em with the flasher and hit 'em on the eyebrow with the crenellated focus ring. Win/Win/Win, wot?
Just ordered one before watching this video and now I think I made a good choice. Less that $17 on eBay with batt and charger. Can't wait to try it out
pelican lights are probably one of the best quality ones made. brightness usually sucks, but they are made for underwater and explosive enviroments such as drilling rigs, oil refineries and etc..
Nice video and flashlight comparisons. I just ordered the ultrafire cree last week on ebay with the batteries and rechargeable kit for $18. I bike ride at night so I cant wait to try it out!
I just ordered this flash light on amazon that came with 2 batteries and a charger with 2 day shipping and a holster for 21 bucks. The holster is not in the 2 day shipping. I can wait to get it. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the useful video. I saw they are on sale right now through ebay for $16.99 including the rechargeable batteries and the charger and thought "this must be a piece of junk for this price" but then I saw your video and immediately bought one.
Nice review, its amazing how bright that Ultrafire is for the money. My buddy brought his out last night and I guessed it was a 200 dollar flash light. Super bright!
Just a heads up. Xenon is pronounced like "Zenon". Also, this flashlight. I just ordered a kit of 2 of them with 4 batteries and 2 chargers for about 24 bucks.
I have heard that most led lights are really only around half of the advertised lumens. I have no way of testing myself so not sure how many lumens it really is ,other than the advertised rating. Thanks for watching
Awesome just got the model that uses 1 battery instead of 2 for $8 on eBay. What people don't know is that high end torches use the exact LED just with better functions, materials & optics, but it still doesn't justify paying more than 10x the price for the average person.
Those cree torches are great.Always used maglite torches but they are expensive to upgrade to an LED bulb compared to the price of cree torches.Have ordered one of those xml t6 torches. Thanks for a good comparison video.
I just got mine today from the mail. this thing looks like a saber when you flash up at the sky. it will lighten your complete yard. it is very very bright!!! if you guys are thinking about picking it up on ebay, well stop thinking and buy it. best flashlight for the money. :)
I enjoyed the video. You have some good targets with which to demonstrate the lights and there have already been some great comments to your comparison. Personally, I don't recommend UltrafIre. Knockoffs with these budget brands are everywhere, and you never really know what you're getting. For one thing, this flashlight isn't 1600 lumens. A T6 LED cannot produce that much light. Next are those "blue" UF batteries. They aren't 3000mAh either. They are cheap fakes. I own flashlights from many different manufacturers. Most any LED light will be superior to the old-style incandescent "D" cell flashlight that you used. But, most any "brand-name" LED light, would put the UltraFire to shame! I've done videos comparing cheaper brands like this, to more mainstream lights...and the difference is amazing! With a Nitecore flashlight, or those made by Olight, Sunwayman, Jetbeam, Lumintop, Thrunite etc.. etc.. (which are typically around 1000 lumens), the camper in the distance, and the tree to the right, would be entirely lit without the the need to adjust the beam. They don't have adjustable beams anyway. They don't need them. It's sort of like the Pelican, but 10x brighter. But yes, those targets would be entirely lit...and several times brighter than what you're seeing with the Ultrafire. They also have more levels of brightness with lower lows and higher highs. The other thing you should know, is that using unprotected lithium batteries in a "series" (back to back) such as in this light, can be dangerous. Their voltage levels should be equal at all times. If not, there's a danger that the weaker battery will "feed" off the stronger one. This can lead to serious complications. Again, good video...but if you were (or have by this point) to invest in a higher quality brand, you would see much more impressive results. By the way...not to toot my own horn, but my website, "Lightsngear.com" has many reviews of different brands of flashlights.
+Syrbuff I am not able to try all flashlights , but i think this one does ok for the $15 . I am sure there are better lights and batteries , but that is what i had .
Please be careful using any flashlight that utilizes multiple Lithium-ion (18650, etc.) batteries. (charging/recharging) .. but be sure to have fun! Just know the risks. Thanks for taking the time to make the video! Cheers!
Would be nice to see some comparisons on the led lights. You are right about the lumens, that is why i posted the advertised lumens and did not talk much on them., Thanks for watching.
At 7:55 so " Ultra Fire " flood out half way , is were you see farther away , but not around the objects , too much ? . How much does those cost & the batteries , & how long do the batteries last ?
I have seen some say UltraFire 2000, but not sure if that is the correct model number . I just type in ultraFire Flashlight in to ebay and look for a zoomable one with 2 batteries.
At 5:49 is "The Strobe light " you say , & seem actually the best , but it flashes like a police car like . Can it be that bright w/o the flashing ? , & how long does the batteries last ?.
Great video Mr Wtbm123! Very informative! I had no idea what direction I should take because there are so many models on the market; I know what to buy now. Thanks very much :-)
I think it may be very bright and may mess with white balance , maybe if you used a diffuser . .It would also take lots of them so you do not end up with hot spots. If you do use them plz let us know the results.
Bought this flashlight back in May. Honestly, the best one I've owned so far. My problem is that the lens pop out of the retainer a lot and from what I can tell, the lens doesn't stay clear. It's starting to get foggy or cloudy in the lens. I'm not sure of its just a bad one but I'm trying to get a replacement. Overall, not bad. Batteries could last longer but since they're rechargeable, it's all good. I always carry the spare with me anyways.
After watching your video and looking for all your flashlight videos, I suggest you buy the Sofirn Sp36 or the Sofirn sc31B and you will notice the different ones of a true led flashlight, you can buy it at Amazon, Banggood or Gearbest.
Now I know what to buy for midnight fruit hunting. What fruit you asked? Its called Durian, very sought after and hard to comeby as its seasonal. Just assume its more like a ginseng or truffle hunting. Anyway thanks for the video 👍
I own several cheap Chinese flashlights ~ they are terrific bargains, excellent quality at astoundingly low prices. Ultrafire and Cree are two very fine names. They abound on eBay, sellers based in China and Hong Kong. I am not associated with them in any way.
great review. I have a smaller ultrafire cree, q5 that I bought from a market in china. thought it would be a piece of crap like the rest of the stuff they sell there, but it has turned out to be amazing. the xml-t6 looks nice too.
At 5:10 is a flashlight called " The Ultra Fire " ? . So that is best , if that is the name of the flash light ? . How long does the batteries last , & how much do they ( batteries & the flashlight ) cost ? .
I got my first xmlt6 torch yesterday from china-bay. It's awesome, even with those cheapo lithium batteries that they sent with it (i ordered some better batteries today).
I'm interested in seeing a video of comparison in LUMENs. I'm purchasing three 8000 lumen flashlights and wanted to know what the difference was between it, other standard flashlights, and quite possibly your 1600 LUMENs UltraFire.
many torch ,in many t of using.I had total 20 different of lights with me. since I am small .now some are gone by house moved, now ,I have to spend time for good led torch agains .lights to me are very cute ! I likes it !!

I just bought a couple of cree 2200 lumen lamps and wanted to see one in action. Man, I enjoyed this vid, but the comments section is even more entertaining! "Ride on like gandalf in the night"!

I have seen LED flashlights getting brighter, more common and less expensive lately... some crazy bright!
That looks like a nice flash light there Terry, it has power like the Mag light.
I have heard that most led lights are really only around half of the advertised lumens. I have no way of testing myself so not sure how many lumens it really is ,other than the advertised rating. Thanks for watching

Holy Crap that is one nice flash light.
How does the rechargeable battery compare to using 3 standard 1.5V AAA batteries at full charge, is it any brighter?
Would be nice to see some comparisons on the led lights. You are right about the lumens, that is why i posted the advertised lumens and did not talk much on them., Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the review. Do you think this flashlight could be used for amateur filmmaking of night scenes (as a substitute for professional lighting)?
I think it may be very bright and may mess with white balance , maybe if you used a diffuser . .It would also take lots of them so you do not end up with hot spots. If you do use them plz let us know the results.
A extra set of batterys are nice to have too. Thanks for watching.
Well done comparison!!

That ultafire light is bad ass! After three years have you had any problems with it? Been wondering how long the bulbs hold up.
nice, i been looking for a good flashlight to leave in my vehicle...i think i just found it
I own several cheap Chinese flashlights ~ they are terrific bargains, excellent quality at astoundingly low prices. Ultrafire and Cree are two very fine names. They abound on eBay, sellers based in China and Hong Kong. I am not associated with them in any way.

Cool Thanks for watching and commenting John.
I like your review very much.

They are nice lights. Thanks for watching and commenting.
For about $30 Aus I bought a 2500lm cree headlamp for camping. I only use it on low around my site otherwise it's too bright.
I got my first xmlt6 torch yesterday from china-bay. It's awesome, even with those cheapo lithium batteries that they sent with it (i ordered some better batteries today).

Holy S.... what a difference.
Good light for the price
Thanks for this video, but can you tell us where do you buy this ultrafire cree xml T6 flashlight please ?

The yellow one is for scuba-diving. You can take them to 60m no probs.
The pelican is water proof. They make several and also a led one that would be interesting to try. Thanks for watching
Some where around 2 hrs. Extra batteries are good to have.
They are good for the price. Thanks for watching and commenting
