When I was a kid someone tickled me as I was looking at a parrot in a pet shop - I laughed and the parrot copied my laughter. Then we just spent, like, five minutes laughing at each other for no reason. It was great.

@@petermurdoch7540 To suggest the word 'aborigine' (note the word is a noun, not a proper non) is racist is ridiculous. The word actually means 'a person, animal, or plant that has been in a country or region from earliest times'. The word is applicable to anything meeting the definition, not just people, anywhere in the world, so, I would suggest, to attempt to restrict the word to specifically Australian Indigenous 'people' is itself very racist as it ignores the much wider application of the word.

Most people I know who love kookaburras are enchanted by their profile and/or their voice. In 2005 I was at a marina in Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park near Sydney for a picnic with my Aussie cousin and his wife. As we set up the picnic fare, I heard a heavy flutter of wings behind me, then several more sounds like that. When I looked in the direction of the sound, I saw NINE kookaburras gathered in a tree very close to our picnic site. I sat in a folding lawn chair and stared in fascination. Suddenly a juvenile among them fluttered over to where I sat and perched on the arm of the chair. If you have never experienced having a kookaburra stare down that beak into your eyes, I highly recommend it. 100/10, would do again!
