I have heard from a good source that Explorers in a jungle came across a group of monkeys up in the branches of the trees, making anxious noises as a panther was crawling below making menacing noises. Unfortunately, a small monkey slipped and fell becoming the victim of the panther, whereupon all the monkeys made laughing sounds!!!!

I live near a bush reserve and multitudes of Kookaburras laugh every morning at dawn, then again at dusk. It is where the Australian saying 'I was up with the Kooka's' (meaning an early start to the day) comes from. They laugh at me and my Labradors when I am working in my garden and I look at the dogs and say 'they're laughing at you, not me'. All jokes aside the laugh is a sign to other kookaburras that this is 'my territory'.

Laugh, kookaburra, laugh, kookaburra, gay your life must be. As a kid I remember watching old movies where kookaburras laughing where used as the backing track to some jungle scene in Africa or the Amazons. If you watch old Tarzan movies you might catch it.

She does have a contagious laughter.,.

These guys were really noisy 😂😂 in Brisbane

When I was a kid in Yallourn (around 1950) the Kookaburras would land on the power pole in our back yard just after dinner time. They would laugh (almost as a sign to say that we are here) and would come down from the pole. We were able to feed them by hand with scraps of meat which they took back to the pole to tenderise and eat.

In germany we call this bird "Lachender Hans" which means "Laughing Sean" 😊

I once parked up at a little country side lookout spot (Victoria Australia) Parked the car, handbrake didn't work. Had to park in gear. And on that very note. The kookaburras in the trees behind me start laughing immensely 😂
