      I'm about a hundred and fifty hours in playing (nay, toying) with Satisfactory and still only just starting to get to grips with the very basic elements of automating production. Scaling up these processes and learning how to construct efficient infrastructures are so time-consuming, I'm therefore truly grateful for your well-presented time-saving tips and tricks, especially around the subject of road creation and the use of blueprints, all very much appreciated. 👍

      You really should shell out the $15-20. This is such a nice game and It's so important to support such studios. Even If you're not totally into the game yet, get it on sale (right now) and give it a try. I bet, it gives you at least 10-15 hours of fun - if it doesn't grab you and pull you into a 300hrs vortex of factory building. It's worth the 15 bucks for exploring the planet alone.

    My favorite personal blueprint so far I call the kitchen sink, and it's just a 3x4 foundation with a mam, craft bench, equipment bench, and a sink attached to a biomass burner and storage container with a row of ramps to make it technically 4x4 and easy to get on top without worrying about terrain lol I drop it down constantly

    A bit of a tip about Quartz production: The numbers seem really odd, but 22.5 and 37.5 add up to 60, so a normal Mk1 Miner can supply exactly one silica and one crystal constructor.

    • @craigchatterton4164
      @craigchatterton4164 10 месяцев назад +8

      That's what I came here to say. He could skip all the overclocking and just run four Constructors per node, producing 75 Quartz Crystal and 45 Silica each

    • @mnxs
      @mnxs 7 месяцев назад +2

      Neat! Just checked it out on the Calculator. It also adds up really nicely for alternate recipes: 2x assemblers making Cheap Silica (@ 11.25x2=22.5) + 1x refinery making Pure Quartz Crystal (@ 67.5), giving a total of 90 input for the three buildings. I'm gonna build them in sets from now on!

    • @parlaptie
      @parlaptie 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@thelastengineer8633 You're not going to be able to easily split your input according to those numbers, but you don't really need to. It's the whole manifold scenario all over again; you'll oversupply some machines, but once those are full, the remainding items go to the previously undersupplied machines.

    When I started playing, I dragged belts for kilometers to get everything I need to my central base. I also used belts like walkways to get over lakes and up cliffs and stuff. Just belts everywhere. Once I unlocked the cars and trains and everything, I was so used to the belts and so intimidated by the idea of removing them and figuring out the new system. So I just ignored them all the way. It's very interesting to see how vehicels can be used and how cool the roads actually look. I haven't played Update 8 yet, but when I return, I will definetly try some of your blueprints and try out the explorer. It looks very fun!
    Thank you for your detailed explanations of everything and for letting everyone use your blueprints. Your series is making me very excited to get back into this game.

    You're the very first video that got recommended on Ytb about satisfactory to me. I clicked on it because it was a new thing on my feed, and because I didn't understood blueprints and nerver bothered to use them. I thought to myself "woaw it's more than an hour long, for a tutorial, that's too much, I'll prolly quit" And I'm halfway through while writing this message; the amount of effort you've put into this tutorial, how you managed to get the flow going, staying interesting, skiping irrelevant moments that others would have kept by lazyness, you sir are admirable. Thank you for your hard work

  • @marcbennett9232
    @marcbennett9232 10 месяцев назад +14

    great videos, I am absolutely going to take inspiration from your roads! one thing I like to do with quartz is combine the silica and crystals in the same production line. for example, one has 22.5 input so two of those is 45, and the other has 37.5 input, two of those is 75. so all four equals an even 120 belt.

    If you put the power towers in the middle then you have to make every road wider to accommodate them even if it doesn't have a power tower. So that's a lot of extra material since you don't need a power tower in every segment. By having them off to the side you only have to build the extra supports when you need them.

    Blueprints are truly revolutionary for Satisfactory.
    In previous playthroughs I used to burn out quite quickly, because once you've built a nice building for T1 Iron parts, you don't want to repeat all that detailing/design work over and over. Now, the gameplay moves naturally from building spaghetti early game, to consciously designing in the blueprinter, to building larger factories from modules. I do wish they had taken a bit more inspiration from Factorio -- Copy parts existing in the world to a blueprint, and placing "ghosts" regardless of whether you have the materials yet. Still, even as it is, it's amazing.

  • @ranalloatl2

    Road variant suggestion: Power towers used as support pillars beneath stacked single lane roads, i.e. a lane in one direction beneath a lane in the opposite direction. Ceiling light on the underside of the top road connected to a street lamp on the top of the top road; that way you'll only have to connect a single street lamp between blueprints.
    Your initial versions look fantastic! Would it be easier to have the lights integrated into your ramps by default and just delete them , or add them after the fact like you're doing so far?

    Awesome blueprints, definitely going to use some of those when I'm ready to do the Update 8 playthrough. I do love my power lines running under the road though, just a habit I've built up from when it was only the ugly power poles, and eventually the vastly superior ceiling nodes that could be stuck below the foundations. But with the arch supports that gives me a whole new idea of straight up running a double support beam with a kind of arching connection below the road but the powercables running between the legs if you will. So now say you have 3 foundations between every support or an uneven number anyway, 1 might be better if you want it to look sturdier though that might look cluttery in my opinion. But uneven support gaps and then in the middle of every support gap you place one of those transport towers I think that'll look pretty cool though I'll see when I get there :p

    It's so interesting to see how differently people play these kinds of games. I would totally just leave roads and the power towers just floating in the air with 0 support. If the game doesn't require supports, I rarely put them in if it's for a functional structure.
    It's probably why my builds always look like spaghetti lol.

    I found this video helpful, which led me, recently, in creating some similar blueprints; but the jank is making it difficult. I had a hard time making T and Cross sections. I have a hard time placing ramps. Once it's done, it's great and looks great. Just make sure to configure your lights before you save your blueprint 🙄 There is a lack of foundation and ramp pieces, and a lack of decals. I had to improvize and rethink some blueprints to get it to work.

    In terms of realism, throwing the transmission towers to the side of the road is better imo. I can't speak too much to power infrastructure outside of the US but here, the high voltage transmission lines require quite large easements clear of anything including roads and often ignore the road grid and make essentially straight lines as terrain allows between generating stations and substations, where the voltage is stepped down and you would switch essentially to Satisfactory power poles which DO go along the roadside.

    Can somebody please tell me where to get the planner so you can layout your production from miners through smelter and constructor to assembler.

    I thought I noticed it earlier in the series, but I heard it for sure this episode and, if I may, the Minecraft music is a nice touch

    So should I be using trucks to bring ores to a train station that then takes everything to a factory for crafting?

    19:37 WORKAROUND to "ramp blueprints" not aligning up. @WhatDarrenPlays
    I found that if you position the blueprint hologram the best you are able, short of vertical alignment, go ahead and build it, and proceed to build another, you'll find that every other build of the blueprint is aligned with the original. Clean up the misaligned builds and you're there.
    Hope that makes sense. It was one of those frustration moments where I threw my hands and just started laying down blueprints, clicking away, just to find out...wow, that actually worked!
