I think sight reading is a very important skill, but obviously I’m not doing it enough😅 I think in order to become good in sight-reading you need a good grasp of theory. It’s like reading language. You don’t read single letters but you know the words they are forming and recognize it instantly. While reading a sentence you mostly know where its going and by the meaning you can phrase it correctly and give emphasis on the right words. Same with notes, chords/harmonies musical phrases/forms. I need to do more musical analysis, but time is just so limited. But I often talk with my teacher about theory and we do analysis of certain snippets.
