- This funny reel of outtakes was released on the Season 1 DVD set, but not in very good condition visually. So I cleaned it up as much as possible and got rid of the audio hiss. Enjoy.
sadly, the main cast almost hated making the show, wright left the set without words when they where done with the final episode, Alf is truly a special show, tragic on and behind the set
It was a hard show to create as it had to make Alf look real and the human actors were a sideshow to a puppet. The legacy of ALF went far beyond the show. ALF merchandise was a big hit.
RIP max
But they had a great chemistry on the set
@@BulldogDynasty I'm 73, & still have an ALF doll (a regift from my great niece, who also loved the show)(after she trimmed his hair)(who knows what lurks in the mind of a 5 yo Melmacian wannabe)
Almost? They were all miserable. A single episode would take 20-25 hours of studio time. Andrea Elson (Lynn) became depressed and bulimic (and she was skinny to begin with). Max Wright (Willie) hated that Paul Fusco (ALF) put all the focus on himself and got all the good lines.
One of my favorite childhood shows. I was always bummed about the (non)-ending. And learning that it was basically a never-ending production hell kinda clashes with my warm fuzzy memories of it.
Paul Fusco made it very clear that he wanted everyone working on set to treat Alf as if he was real. He was never to be called a "puppet" or referred to as "It". He was to be called by his name. These outtakes show just how far Fusco went to maintain the illusion that Alf was real. I think after a while it started to effect the human actors. At 4:33 Anne Schedeen responds to Alf's reaction to her touching him as if she actually felt she had offended an actual star actor. Meanwhille Max Wright looks completely pissed off and unamused by what he must have thought was a bunch of unnecessary foolishness. Being told he had to pretend that a puppet was alive at all times did not sit well with him and it's the reason that after the final episode was filmed he got his belongings and walked out without saying goodbye. The money must have been good otherwise he would not have stuck around for the entire run of the series.
The behind the scenes drama that existed on the set of Alf would make quite a compelling movie.
I wonder what happened to max wright, he never denied the crack gay porn scandal...
alf isn't real, but paul is, even if the actors hated alf, couldn't they pretend they were working with paul fusco instead of a puppet?
it's clear that the actors started happy and ended up tired and mad...
@@lymli Nope because Paul did not want them working with him. Alf was the star and he is who they had to deal with.
@@1977TA And that was right :)
The cast knew that from the first minute. Why they are staying, if it was so terrible for them to play with Alf like this?
Sounds like Wright was making a fuss out of nothing.
R.I.P. Benji Gregory.
what happened to him ? was he on drugs?
@@brentkiely657 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benji_Gregory
4:48 i got the feeling that was on the same day when Wright attacked the puppet.
How did Paul Fusco played and act like ALF even in the bloobers? That's unbelievable!! I mean, most puppetiers stop moving the mouth or hands when they make mistakes, but here it's like ALF is real.
He took is super seirously, and wanted people to treat alf as though he was real. Little weird.
The man is a little crazy. The lengths he went to for Gordon to be "a real alien" were psychotic and lead to cast burnout.
@@kindred84 what did he do?
You had to refer to the puppet as a real alien, it isn't a puppet. Lots of extremes were gone to for this. It was like puppet method acting.
@@kindred84 people interact with Muppets the same though?
bring Alf back!!!!
I read they are doing a reboot of the show tho. I hope they do. I read the article a couple months ago
@@donttreadonmeiwonttreadony2360 they once had an animated spin-off tv series on cartoon network :D
I hope so after that subpar finale in 1990..XD
@@donttreadonmeiwonttreadony2360 there not it was a fake rumor. Even if they wanted to Max Wright aka Willie Tanner is dead.😞 he died last year on Jun 26, 2019 at the age of 75
miss this show to and some old other shows and wish they would bring back all my cartoon shows and all my ABC shows I grow up with because they almost all gone how sad is it all so know how you feeling
Rip Max Wright😔😔😔😔 now if they ever made another Alf series they won't have Max Wright😔😔
He hated that production. Therefore, it is unlikely that he would have starred in a remake, if there had been one at all. In addition, other actors who were involved in the series have also passed away. If there was ever a remake, other actors would have to do it anyway.
Season two of ALF is one of the greatest seasons of television comedy ever. It went way downhill after that, but the second season is pure comic gold.
Yesterday, I watched videos about the adult humor that permeated the Nickelodeon shows created by Dan Schneider. I had never watched the shows before (was not in the right age demographic) but the humor was actually really good - just not appropriate for kids shows. Many of the shows’ cast members had bad experiences behind the scenes, which seems to have been the case with ALF, a show that appeared benevolent on screen but a bit dystopian off screen.
I love hearing ALF cuss 🤣
Ladder10team1NFFD58 teamcap ?
“You’re not gonna spray me, are ya?”
Loved Alf ty for sharing this video with us we all need an Alf in our life Paul fiasco brilliant puppeteer 😁🇨🇦🇨🇦
I like the fact that the show made alf"s fur the same color as Anne Scheedean"s hair..XD
Or maybe Anne Scheedean's hair was made the same color as Alf's fur.
let's go for a remake of alf
I really liked Alf . It was a great show
RIP Max Wright :(
He's in heaven with ALF
@@thomashninan3825 but he hated Alf because he was more famous than him
@@MrSnail-jw6jo : yeah, just did a little bit of reading about that. Geez, if you loathe something that much, 1) why did you take the job, 2) why did you remain on the job?
@@vmsysprog sorry if I'm late but It's probably because of the money, like everyone said
4:46 Max Wright never caught a break on this show lmao
say what?????
"I can't go on" such a mood
the last scene with the cat baby, was too hard!
I didn't like that either... but well.. if that makes it any easier: the cat is dead by now.. (sorry... can't help myself... evanescence is a bitch and it will never not scare the shit out of me)
I think I heard the kittens spine crack..yikes
0:36 Max Wright summarizing working on ALF in a nutshell.
I want more of Alf ❤️
RIP Alf
It's only the body shot assistant who died. Paul Fusco is still alive.
He's still alive!
Schaut des noch jemand aus Deutschland?🤔
ich schau es immer wenn ich es zufällig im fernsehen sehe.
ja ich liebe alf xDD
Ich schaue jedes jahr einmal die ganze Staffel
Ja
Regelmäßig
1:46 "Well, no more tears."
Crackin' up every single episode. Great Alf
RIP Max Wright I love Alf
3:23 ALF swears
1:23 wait, Wright is laughing here? That makes me question, how bad it really was the shooting?
This Outtakes are great! So sad, that it's not released on the german DVD Version! (I am german). Do you know the german dubbed version of the show? The german dubbing voices of Alf (Tommie Piper) and Willie (Nils Clausnitzer) have done great work! But Kate's / Anne Schedeen's original voice is sexier than the german. Especially when she's laughing.
Niemals!! :)
2:07 ALF as The Joker.
I saw this video in 1988
I love the '......sorry......' after the nut shot.
Like Married...With Children, ALF had a hot mother-daughter team.
"hot mother-daughter team" dude.. 🤮
I'm sad Andrea Elson isn't featured here... 😢
Max was great, I hope he knew that.
Wow, these takes would sound so cool in in the Spanish or German versions 🤣🤣
4:42 OMG 😦 After seeing this, I'll never see Alf again.
At least she laughed.
@@beauwalker9820 it seemed forced. This is the 80s where people have to suppress that.
@@FakeAssHandsomeMcGee_ doesn't seem forced. That was spontaneous laughter.
that last one was kinda dark, peta wasnt getting much word in in those days i guess

Never see this in Germany...
Paul Fusco is just one thing : GREAT !! :) 5:30 is so sweet, could watch this over and over again ;))
"But if I have to do it, the least you could say is do it." XD that sounded wrong
Anyone watching this in 2020???

2020 WAS 4 YEARS AGO 😭
What the hell is that, a plane going by? XD
Yea..XD
Not used to Alf cussing lol.
This is a show that could be redone today and really do well, I think.
A real laugh track here.
god, poor max wright, he looks so pained he truly hated the show
if they had continue the show, we had world peace on this earth by now.
thanks for upload
Loving the outtakes😄🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱❤❤
This is better then the actual show
4:26 LOL
I love Outtakes it's so funny.......
MAN is this ever AWKWARD!! Knowing that the cast admitted they all really hated filming this show (especially Max Wright) I can TOTALLY see it in these outakes! Normally Bloopers are funny and the actors all laugh hysterically when they mess up and everyone looks like they are having a blast!! Max looks downright MISERABLE after every goof. Even Bryan looks bored and like he doesn't even care when he flubs a line! They all look MISERABLE and ANNOYED with ALF's ad-libbed antics!!!!
One funny bit was when Andrea Elson (Lynn) swears quite audibly within earshot of co-star Benji Gregory, who couldn't have been much more than seven at the time... I imagine he picked up a lot of colorful new words working on that set. Also, ALF/Fusco's weird "one night in Iowa" come-on to her... what the hell?!
I disagree. They're having a lot of fun, although it's hard work.
Wright doesn't look miserable at all. These are the first two seasons though.
@@starlodear2987Wright looks miserable at around 04:38-0:46. At one point, he looks fucking DEAD. 😱 🥶 He also looks pissed in the fast food segment at the end.
Simply fascinating
I wonder if theres that infamous blooper of Max Wright losing his cool and attacking Alf
He died recently, and I wouldn't be surprised, he was terrorised by ALF
@@kharnifex you've got to tip your hat to the cast and crew for putting up with it so long.
@@noneofyourbusiness5198 Specifically?
No, it was constant verbal abuse and pranks etc from the Alf guy to the rest of the cast.
@@noneofyourbusiness5198 well, if the meltdown included years of crack abuse hehe
I still can't watch final episode 😢
I have never and will never watch this ;)
everybody's calling paul fusco crazy and annoying, but I think he was professional to bring his creation alive. sad thing he didn't get along with the actors, maybe if the show got actors that understood him and got along with him, alf wouldn't been canceled...
the muppets behave as humans too, but nobody hates on them.
Getting actors who were professional puppeteers and had more experience working with puppets might have been a better idea, though.
You are right! :) Why they are staying, if it was so bad?! ..We all know the answer! Money.
@@sararaven1997, yes. Well pointed out. People need to work to make money. So they can stay alive. Do you know how many people hate their jobs but don't have a choice?
I'd like to know how alf's body was moved... do you have any link to some sort of video like that? [or else]
there are trapdoors, puppeteers are standing there with ALF on sticks and moving him. notice how there is always something in front of alf (sofa, table, whatever) and you never see the lower part of his body except very few effect shots with an actor (rip) in alf suit.
At 4:47, ALF Hits Willie in the "Man Zone". That Cracks Me Up Everytime!!
@Ladder10team1NFFD58 teamcap 4:47
Jeez he really squished that kitten in the sandwich!
Love alf
I know he soften with his memories of the show before his death, but Max Wright looks absolutely unhappy in most of these outtakes. Makes me sad.
Max Wright hates the show
4:43 ALF you sly dog
Glad you liked the gag reel. Thanks for being the first to post a comment.
Alf Alf Alf,
Yes willy
Yes willy
Yes willy
If you're gonna touch me touch me down here lol
4:42 NOT YOU TO 😮
That’s season 3 actually, so funny LOL
If so, it's a bit odd considering it was on the Season 1 DVD set.
I read that the guy who plays Willy attacked the puppet.
4:32 ...alf sexually harassed a cast member. Yikes
Alf is alive!!
But where is he now? :(
Last time I saw he was on Good Morning America about a year ago
Alf was so funny
Oh boy....WHOOP!
I don't think the cat at the end is real. I hope it is a puppet :)
4:20 LMAO
0:23 Alf Trump
@Ladder10team1NFFD58 teamcap Looks like a bust -- a sculpture of a woman's torso...
Lol
Is this really season one? Alf's voice is not as harsh as in s01.
This isn't just "season 1 outakes"
4:24 is season 2
It was taken from the Season 1 DVD set though.
I think these are season two outtakes, I just rewatched season one and there isn't much if any at all from s01 here...
And at 0:23 is from season 3
Why do the voices in the Latin Spanish dubbing sound so much better than the originals?
They don’t.
Rewatched it in adult age. And i can say i f***ing hate Alf.
The shot of unamused Max Wright at 4:33 gives me a better idea of just how unhappy he was. Yikes
I love Outtake it's so funny.
Yeah, he's a really good guy
4:33 😢
was this show super famous in usa or not?
I hear the little bastard is dying.
"Super famous" sounds like something a teenage girl from the US would say.
Where are you from?!
Yeah, along with Friends and The Golden Girls
You can tell Max doesn't want to be there
With the cat is funny!
4:42😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The writing on this show was superb, what happened to comedy.
? Do you mean, that nothing is funny anymore? That none of the comedy shows/series/movies/stand-ups etc. is good?
People have lost the fun factor...love this❤🐱
What about Johnny La Motta??? 😢😢. Why didn’t you show anything about him? He was the whole show. If it wasn’t for him there would’ve been no Alf.
Hard to believe that both Max Wright and Alf Fusco are both gone now..
Maybe I miss read It .then..??..
@Chris Terry yes you are right I must have read someone else..
Paul ALF Fusco is alive :)
Paul Fusco the National Geographic photographer died, not Paul Fusco the A.L.F. creator
4:46
These are pretty tame
2:34 Turkey
1:11 it sound like Willie farted lol
4:47 This is how Batman throw his batarang.
let's go for a remake of alf
❤
I'VE READ THIS FROM MANY SOURCES---> In 2010, blooper footage surfaced in which ALF was made to deliver racial jokes and inappropriate sexual comments. He was actually mocking a then recent episode of L.A. Law dealing with Tourette syndrome. Asked to comment, producer Steve Lamar stated that the footage was from an era when things were not so "ridiculously PC". BTW NONE OF THESE SCENE/ SCENES BOTHER ME PERSONALLY.

Alf was a puppet.
Alf IS a puppet ;)
So even though these are outtakes, is it still canon?
