    This lesson teaches you how to perform level bombing in the Hs 129 using it's specialised bombsight attached to the REVI. Here is the mission I created for this video so you can download it and fly it for yourself to practice: www.dropbox.com/s/pw246rj8d64...

    +RequiemBoS *Actually, MK is not Mark, but **_Maſchinenkanone_** (automatic cannon).* The _Zielenrichtung_ on the LW/Henſchel-129 works off the same alignment principles as the VV-1 gun and bomb sight on the VVS SSSR/Iljushin-2.

    You're the best teacher,although i have been playing this game since it came out in the early 2000's i never got into it to become a pro even though i play it several times a month, i just enjoy flying and blowing things up,thank you for all your videos,they are very helpful.

      Great to hear :-) I personally only ever played Il2 1946 in SP and never touched air combat MP in any form until Rise of Flight. As long as the videos help you blow stuff up (SP or MP) and make it back safely that's a success in my book!

    Wait.. sighting for 10 meters? Ten?? _TEN?_
    Holy smokes, Henschel themselves built some trains over half that height tall, absolute nutters!

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I know...hard to believe, but yeah they designed the sight to have the option to drop at a height of 10m! lol

    Thank you! I just got the HS 129 (as well as the P-40 and Spitfire) over the weekend. I knew that I had to allign the wires, but I didn't know what altitudes the bars were representing.

      Nice, the Hs 129 is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. I hope you'll enjoy the strafing video when it comes out :-)

    Would be easier if the stick didn't covered the Airspeed indicator when in bombing view :') thanks for the tip on the Manifold pressure

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад

      Yeah I know right! Checking it with a glance would be easy in RL, but it's a downside to the sight when using it with the limitations we have in a simulator. As you said it gets covered up when you align everything which is why I give the info about MP and trimming for 300 km/hr beforehand. At least that way when the control pressure is gone you know you're flying at about 300km/hr. It's an ingenious device though.

      It's easy to do in VR. Two eyes let you spy around the stick in a glance... Thanks for the video! It's great, you learn something every day/video ;)

    So ... you have to add the altitude of the terrain to the equation, right? For example, the objective is 100 mts above sea level, and you want to use the 50mts attack = 150 mts.

    • @wheelwrightpl9429
      @wheelwrightpl9429 5 лет назад

      I don't think Requiem's explanation makes sense (no offence: great video) because logically it should be based on difference between the ground-level and the aircraft. Only those two points determine bomb's trajectory.

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад +2

      You're wanting to know when you're at the correct altitude Above Ground Level (AGL), so if the ground level would indicate approximately 150m on the altimeter (mean sea level MSL) then 200m MSL will be 50m AGL above the ground.
      So you add your desired altitude AGL to the altitude MSL in the area to get the attacking altitude in MSL. This will tell you what altitude you should be attempting to hold on the altimeter as the altimeter shows your altitude in MSL.

      I tried to explain it in response to Spartan, so hopefully it helps clear it up a bit for you Wheelright. Cheers.

    • @Spartan18a
      @Spartan18a 5 лет назад

      Ok, how do you know the altitude above the sea level of an objective on the map. For instance, you want to bomb an objective within Stalingrad city, where do I find the info about the altitude about sea level of that objective. Is it on the in-game map?

    • @fenbeiduo
      @fenbeiduo 5 лет назад

      In IL2 1946 we have it on the map xd

  • @old_guard2431
    @old_guard2431 5 лет назад +2

    Seems a lot easier than with the Sturmovik 1943, but a lot of that is probably due to better forward visibility on the Duck. Too bad the bomb loadout options are so limited. . .

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah having to deal with the painted lines of the 43s nose is a pain as it's still guesstimating to a degree unlike with the Henschel. Be glad the Henschel has a limited loadout...I think it would seriously struggle performance wise with more or heavier bombs lol

    For your strafing video, I'll be interested to hear if you have a good binding for individual firing of the cannon pod. As far as I can tell, this plane only supports 2 firing groups with the MK 101/103 tied to the small caliber MGs on firing group 1. This makes it pretty difficult to see where your heavy rounds are landing. I've tried binding fire group 3, which seems to do nothing.

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад

      Unfortunately you can't. I tried that too but the MG and 30mm are linked on group 1. It's a little annoying but you have a lot of ammo for the MG so it's not a dealbreaker, but it would be much better if the 30mm were on their own group though.

    How do you find out the targets height so you can compensate for the sighting
    I ask because it mountainous areas it goes up and down like crazy

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  4 года назад

      If you're up in the mountains you'll need to guess unless the target area's elevation is described in the mission briefing.

    Do you know if your tutorials would apply to warthunder ?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад

      Hey Colten, I make these tutorials based off real life procedures so if the game models things correctly then it will work.

    • @HandlesSuck123
      @HandlesSuck123 4 года назад

      Warthunder doesn't have the bombing sight modeled correctly. So no.

    What about level bombing in the A20?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад

      Honestly I have never bothered with level bombing in the A-20. It would be similar in principles to the Pe-2 I imagine.

  • @sniper9786
    @sniper9786 2 года назад

    Doesn't seem to work in War Thunder I guess

  • @scum5
    @scum5 5 лет назад

    This just seems like a whole lot more bother than it's worth. With practice, you can reliably land bombs on targets from these altitudes with no sight at all.

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 лет назад

      Just use whatever technique works better for you Jake. Some people like this and some prefer dive bombing with it. This simply explains how to use the sight as it was historically. It's a pretty clever solution considering the technology of the time.
