I was disgusted when I saw people speculating on your sexuality and that you were doing it to be relatable or something, ick. People need to leave others and their sexualities alone 🤍

I simply loved The Honeys. Even though it was set in the summer, it also reminded me of spring too.

Ryan La Sala has a book coming out in October/November in the U.K. called The Beholder, it has a huge spider on front cover.
I loved The Honeys and cannot wait for his next book.
Fantastic recommendation video btw Hailey 🤗

I also feel like you’d really like Queer Little Nightmares - a queer horror shorty story/poetry book.
Also last year I read Reluctant Immortals and while it isn’t overtly queer I think the themes of found family, change, feminism, and friendships all speak to queerness. It is a lovely nod to classic horror with a feminist twist.

Any suggestions? I’m a first time writer, I found a deep passion for writing and as I am lesbian, I wanted to give my community the books they deserve. I’d like to disclose that as the author, I will probably be biased since it’s my own creation so please keep in mind that getting my book to a wanting audience is my goal and I’ll be transparent by that but genuinely, I could see myself benching it on my period in a heartbeat. Though my book is not yet published, it’s at page 327 out of I have no idea how many thousands of pages there will be and I would love to get some ideas or suggestions of what the community would like to read! Short context without major spoilers, it’s a dark romance wlw with a tad bit of thriller and physiological stuff sprinkled in as a bonus. The relationship between the characters is rather intense, meant to keep the reader on their toes, any thoughts? I’d love to hear them! It’ll be published under the name of Hit me like a woman which might give off some hints of the direction it’s going to sass its way over to.

Yes! Ryan la Sala has a new book called Beholder. (I believe readchelsearead did a review of her ARC..?)
I'm planning on reading The Honeys next month. 🐝
Dude.. I did a taste test of the 1st chapter and OMG hooked already. I'll be reading Bunny after it. 🐰

The Honeys had amazing writing even though the ending didn’t personally work for me but it still hit so hard because of the writing and great characterization.

I’m so glad you liked Just Like Home! I loved it and was so disappointed to see such low ratings.
Such creepy vibes and the ending stuck with me for so long!

Can you make a thriller/horror Rec vlog about the competition trope? I enjoyed the writing retreat, their vicious games and really anything where there’s a competition to survive. Thanks!

Great great great picks! Some I really love and some I have to check out. I'm gonna piggyback and throw out some other amazing queer horror books and thrillers that I love and if anyone reading this comment thinks of other queer horror/thrillers and comments them, I am always looking for more... (Please check triggers before reading any of these - there are some extreme horrors in here!)
Jawbone by Mónica Ojeda (my favourite book of all time)
I Keep my Exoskeletons to Myself by Marisa Crane (NEVER have seen this one talked about. almost as close to flawless as a book can be imo)
Tell Me I'm Worthless by Alison Rumfitt (extreme horror!!)
Fluids by May Leitz (extreme horror!!)
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
One of the Girls by Lucy Clark
    Red X by David Denchuk
Funeral Songs for Dying Girls by Claire Dimaline

Oh I've been waiting for one like this. Queer horror can be so hard to find from actual queer folx. When cis people try to write trans people it's usually awful 😞

I've been reading The Babylon Bee Guide To Gender. It's an incredibly funny satire of gender extremism made by the talented satirists at The Babylon Bee
