Oh this turned out so much better than I imagined, both the lampshade and the cord cover. I second your thoughts of making it bigger so it makes even more of a statement. Love your videos and ideas, happy I found you today !
It turned out better than I imagined too 😂 I did not trust myself on this one. After two months of having it in my living room, I still love it and definitely still want to make it bigger!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!!!! I just discovered you yesterday and now I'm ADDICTED. I'm currently working on some late Christmas presents and it's so calming to watch your crafting journey.
This turned out so cute. I actually found a really cute old lamp shade, but it was disintegrating. So I ripped off the fabric and now have a few pieces to work with. This has given me some inspiration to work on it 😁
I love it! I have anther lamp shade that’s stained and could use an update. I really want to do a colorful crochet lampshade this time with a little more structure.
Right back at you. If you’re up for it, email me with your project at breathingyarn@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram (I don’t have any posts yet but I do check it). I’d love to see what you end up doing, even if you don’t get to it for months. I don’t know about you, but I take forever to tackle certain projects.
“I like for a project to tell me what it wants to be” Amen! P.S. IK it’s very random but you look so much like Anya Taylor Joy! And with your hairstyle it’s giving Queen’s Gambit
That was such a cute result! :) Great work! I just stumbled across your channel a couple of hours ago and I'm working my way through your videos. Really enjoying your vibe!
I’m so glad you mentioned that you had an LED bulb in the lamp! I was wondering about heat, and fire hazard, but I feel much better now. And the lamp turned out so much better than I had envisioned it would! You should feel so proud of yourself! It’s even given me the idea to fix a lampshade on my bedside table lamp now, too, which I was previously thinking of buying. So thanks for the inspiration! (BTW - just recently discovered your channel, and have been practically binge-watching past videos! Love your “can-do” attitude, even when the rode gets a little rough at times!
Wow, this is so cool! I've just stumbled upon one of your other videos and the lamp caught my eye, it gives such a pleasant and cosy vibe to your space. I agree it would be even better if it were a bit bigger, but it's still great like this. I've been wanting to do something similar for a while, but I've been stuck in a bit of a creative rut for the last few months. This just inspired me to actually go and make something, so thank you!
i know this was a while ago and the project is already done but for anyone else looking for cord cover projects, I crocheted my cords into vines with ivy leaves to keep my bunnies from chewing them. it isn't quiet as pretty but instead of wires everywhere, it looks like little vines growing around my room and its super cute and easy. here's the link if anyone was curious: ruclips.net/video/vd4VdII60MM/видео.html
I realize this is kind of an 'old' video now, but I have a tendency to work through catalogs of videos while I'm crafting! I love this lamp! You did such a good job using your materials, working from your stash, and making something really fun to suit your space! Have you settled into it now, or do you have plans to scrap it or make it bigger?
Oh for sure! I’m one of those people that never throws out broken items if I think there’s ever a chance I could turn it into something else. My home is a mess 😂

@@BreathingYarn I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Omg thanks! I had a fall bucket list and wrote that I wanted to dye my hair a new color ♟️

Omg thank you! And yes, I am strictly an LED lightbulb girl after an incident with a lamp and a notebook when I was a kid.
Fabulous!!!

Thank you!!! 😊I hope your making/creative mojo gets a little jump start.
@@BreathingYarn thank you! I actually cast on a sweater the other day, so fingers crossed the mojo stays 🤞
The lamp is beutiful.

It was pretty satisfying to do! It’s not often I get to break stuff
Oh now thats just too cute❣🥰
Edit to add: i know you think its too small but i think its cute!
Thank you ☺️ I haven’t made it larger yet because I still love it as is too!
Why dont you tell your cat to crochet it herself? She is the one who brook it and by the way shes got a lot of hookes on her feet!
I’ve tried but she refuses!!

I made it bigger a few months ago and I definitely liked it more
It’s upcycling.
