Somewhere is Somewhere! 😂 I'm glad you and Somewhere figured out a reroute and you have 10 and half days left on your grand adventure in beautiful Washington! You're now hiking in a Rainforest that goes up to Alaska. 😊
Glad for reroute….gives us another 10 1/2 days too!
I’m glad we’ll have 10 more days with you. It’s so enjoyable to be with you.
The scenery today was stunning. I’m glad you found a way to extend your footpath. Somewhere is really gifted about mapping that kind of thing out.
Thanks to Melanie for driving you back! It looked like you got a restful zero to rejuvenate you for the rest of the trail. Yay for glimpses of Somewhere and another reroute adventure with her. Pretty views today. Take care and stay safe. Happy trails! 🥾 🥾
Thanks Road Runner, for these interesting videos. Have to admit I'm gonna miss your videos when you get done. Glad you and Somewhere are going to finish up together (hopefully). Shout-out to all the trail angles who helped you out along the way.
Really great series of videos from you on this journey. Very much appreciated. You have evolved from this tiny caterpillar (beginner AT hiker) into this mega-star through hiker butterfly!!!!! Enjoy what remains my friend.
You’re doing great , proud of your decision to keep hiking making your way. Somewhere is Incredible with her planning. Still praying for you all. Enjoy
I live in WA and was hoping my pup and I would cross paths with you. All the fires directed me on a different path for the rest of my summer! Happy Trails lady!
Its great that you're taking a reroute. I hope it works out. Some breath taking views today. Happy Trails. 👣👣👣
Still following. That was a stunning look at the trail . We're with you even tho you're alone. 😊
I enjoy your videos. I'm going to miss them when you finally finish the PCT.
Morning, Juliane. What a beautiful drive, even though it was a long one. Love seeing the scenery whether you're walking or driving. The trail looked nice and easy walking. Glad you didn't find any gtizzlies on Grizzly Peak. What a neat subscriber/trail angel to help you out. Look forward to seeing the re-route Somewhere worked out. How neat that she is able to figure those out. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
Washington is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Congratulations hiking dancer I was unable to finish my hike this year due to previous injuries but have cheered you on sincere happy trails and you know this is in your blood now so you can never stop long distance hiking now
You have hiked so many beautiful places. I think Washington state wins as the most beautiful. I've never been - but now I would love to travel there.
I was hoping to assist you and somewhere in Leavenworth/wenatchee where I live but we are hiking the TMB and in Europe for 3 weeks during your time there. Maybe another trail another time. Have a great rest of your hike through our amazing state.
I’m goin miss you so much. I guess I’ll go back and watch your AT hike.❤❤❤
I look forward to your videos everyday. Thank you so much for sharing 😊
Thanks for bringing us joy!
Splinters: usually I avoid moisture on the wood and use a sharp blade laid flat forward the splitter at a slight angle. The blade edge will catch the small amount of wood that is above the skin and will pull it right out most of the time.
Burgers: Mc D Use the receipt to get a bogo on the double 1/4 pounder with cheese and add Mc sauce. Two burgers and a soda $12.39You will save$ 9.50 .
So happy to hear you've got a plan for hiking more of the trail through a reroute to Hart's Pass. Looking forward to your visit to the monument!
You are truly blessed. I’m glad it all worked out. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Thanks 👍
I love how much you love biscuits and gravy, it makes me happy. ❤
The best!
Lots of scenery around there.
Random Thing = Electric Substation = Change of Electrical Power Transmission Voltage. (High V to Low customer V and Low V to High V to match High V transmission lines. Physics is fun. :)
Love that you guys don’t give up and figure out reroutes. Also, I would order exactly the same thing at McDonald’s and biscuits and gravy is my favorite breakfast food along with pancakes. Great minds think alike or in this case, eat alike. Lol
The way that you and Somewhere have continued to come in and out of each other’s hike’s reminds me of the song This Masquerade
Are we really happy here with this lonely game we play?
Looking for words to say
Searching but not finding understanding anywhere
We’re lost in a masquerade. (George Benson) Written by Leon Russell.
That looked like a beautiful camp spot! I'm curious, why are people skipping that 40 mile stretch of the PCT? Is it just easier with the fire closures?
Lots of reasons. Over 70% of PCT hikers skip sections of the trail to cut the miles down. The fire closures give them a good reason. But they would probably do it anyway. Plus this is a very long reroute, that requires a lot of planing. Some may not be that good planing or even know this is an option.
I’m so happy you are doing this reroute because everyone else I’ve been watching has like you said skipped this section. First year watching the PCT and you as well. Truly enjoy your videos. I live in Wenatchee and wondered how I could be a trail angel to help with transportation and I’m now learning I must need to sign in on a certain site..? Since videos are put out a few days behind that must be the only way. But I’m glad you are finding them!!! :) I bet it did rain on you last week :/ in the city we enjoyed it but I wouldn’t want to be hiking in it. Until the next video… take care woman! 👍
@fireball5898, there is a Facebook page. PCT Washington Trail Angels.
YOU ARE THE BEST HIKER WHO CAN MAKE PERFECT VIDEO ON RUclips
I never tried to get splinters out. I just leave them there until they work their way out on their own. They won’t stay there forever. However, I guess they could get infected, but I’ve never had that happen.
That's what I do too. She is probably doing more damage then good trying to get it out.
Was that a Blue Blaze, or a Blueberry Blaze? 😆
By the way, really love that banjo music you picked to end your videos with.
i missed a couple weeks. Getting back into watching. Looking so close.
Your journey has been amazing. Enjoy the last days of your adventure on the PCT !!
Seems Somewhere has turned out to be your biggest influence.
Didn't you say you first met her confidently hiking down San J while your companions were freaking out?
I can only imagine your thoughts: Why can't I hike with (someone like) her?
sweeet mega great video -- appalachian trail .. my zone N C aahaaaahaahahahaaaaaa PCT look great but no bigfoot BUT THE BEST PINE TREES IN THE WORLD.. STAUSAFE MY GORGEOUS LADY THRU HIKER MASTER
I think I stayed at that exact site. 😂 🤷🏻♀️
wow, almost done! nice!
Did you get the splinter out? I’ve never heard of soaking to get one out, some type of poultice to draw it out is an old fashioned way. Scenery today is very pretty. Re-route sounds interesting, the last one Somewhere planned worked out pretty well so why not try it again ! She seems to have a skill in that area. She still has the AT to finish too so she’s going to be moving fast. Hope everything works out well.😊
Wild berries rule, LETS GO!
Really glad for you that you figured out a reroute. Fingers crossed it will work out for you!
Glad you have decided on a reroute and wish you good luck. Did you get the splinter out of your finger?
Chipotle is pronounced Chippy's in my family.
Stealing this 😂❤
Chi-pole-tay
I like the daily doubles. With the app deals if you spend at least $2 you get any size fry. So for 3.69 a nice burger snd large fry.
There are no grizzly bears in Washington state. Last confirmed sight was almost 30 years ago. There is however a plan for the reintroduction of grizzly bears back in the state.
There are grizzly bears in WA state. Mostly in the NE corner of the state. Nothing officially confirmed in North Cascades since 98’.
I hope the reroute works out!
Thanks for update. I missed how you ended up in Wenatchee from Leavenworth ? It is a huge tourist trap and probably expensive accomodations for hikers. Hope you got splinter out. Happy to see you back on trail with solid reroute plans. Hike on 😊
They had German food in Leavenworth near the end of the last video.
We somewhat missed a day. There was no video yesterday but that day was combined with today's. Looks like one or two zeroes.
We need a map of the rerouting and map of the ‘gaps’ in your Holy Grail of a continuous footpath.
It's pretty easy to follow her track using any online map, Her camp site was at Pear Lake, mile 2485.9 on the PCTA map. The PCT is closed at Mica Lake 2524.0. So my guess is that she will get off the PCT at about mile 2505.7 and follow the trails west to the White Chuck River. Then follow the river to Darrington. Then follow Highway 530 to Rockport, Highway 20 to Ross Lake, then the Pacific Northwest Trail back to the PCT. Which will put her past all of the fires and close to the Northern Terminus. Maybe they will find some surprise options to stay off the highways, but I'm not sure what these would be.
@@MaxZomboni i mean ALL her gaps in the continuous footpath, ie., ALL the parts of the PCT that she will have to go back and walk. It would be a nice visualization for people to see what a typical thru hike looks Iike when having to go around the various insurmountable obstacles. That’s why I said “gaps” (plural) and not just “gap” (the one reroute she’s currently on).
How the heck can one know these route choices?
@@TeddyRumble huh? Phones, smart watches and GPS devices can easily track your daily routes. That’s how. And RR already said she’s going to go back and fill in the gaps of the parts of the PCT that she skipped so she can connect her footpath. So she already has the info. I’m just asking her to provide a map of HER ‘gaps’ in the PCT. Not sure what is confusing you.
@@RC-qf3mp I believe she has three gaps.
1.4 miles on the California - Oregon State Line.
60 miles from highway 138 to Shelter Cove.
22.1 miles near Potato hill.
She has said that she intends to go back and fill in the gaps after she finishes the hike. She has already admitted that she should have road walked from Highway 138 to Shelter Cove. She intends to road walk that section, if it is not reopen. I hope she doesn't have to do that and it reopens before she gets there.
Looks like King bolete mushrooms at 10:38
Is that your original hat from the AT? Thought it was lost🤔
I like your accent
A how you doin . Everyday with you .
Anybody recommend Drawing Salve. I had good luck with it on a nasty splinter once.
What happened to Sonic ??
Must have hiked on when she had to take zeros.
Try squeezing out the splinter like a pimple.
It's pronounced Chi-poodle. Don't let the chi-pot-le conspiracy theorists stear you wrong.
😂
