- Sorry for the length of this video, but I wanted to post it with as much of the interesting parts as possible. We heard this train call out as he passed the Amtrak Capitol Limited, so we waited. He came slowly into Gaithersburg and could not pull up the hill as the second locomotive would not load (according to radio transmissions from the crew).
At about 5:30, 6:22 and at 8:43 into the video you can see the lead locomotive bucking as it attempts to move the train back. The crew did their best to get the train running but we ended up leaving at around 1630 and they didn't like they were going to get it going any time soon. We were further east on the Met at 1950 and it still had not come past. We did see Q464 going west and it may have been bring parts.
So was it able to limp away from the station or did it have to be rescued? Awesome video!!
Looks to me they stalled. Just to much weight on the hill. Bring on the EMD power.
Was this shot with Canon XA10? If so why only 480P Nice vid though
Aweosme!
That first locomotive must broke down.
Damn sound like he was struggling
it sounds like i heard alot of wheel slip there.is that true?
Thats what it sounds like to me too. The second engine was loading so that first engine was trying to do it all.
Really should have spent the extra money and bought the red and black engines when shopping, they're more powerful.......
WHEELSLIP= NEEDS SAND PUT DOWN
