I'm really looking forward to the wave frame. Considering on level content is where ads reliably die in one wave chain reaction or not, I'm looking forward to trying something that offers more synergy with the current subclass sandbox
Voltshot only applies to the first enemy it hits afaik, so a wave should only apply 1 instance of Jolt per proc, which is fairly limiting. It could work different on a wave though and pop off, and even if it only tags 1 target it ain’t bad either.
chain has no class synergy and the content waves reliably kill red bars in one shot removes the point of needing chain reaction, I've gotten more utility/ad clear out of a Demo Pug New Pacific Epitaph than forbearance. It was nice when void was the only 3.0 subclass but we're long past the point and people just aren't realizing that.
@@cyclo_17 Chain Reaction kills ads outside of the inital wave. Seeing as Pacific doesn't have anything regarding ad clear I severely doubt. And in content where waveframes reliably kills, Jolt isn't that needed. Only thing Forb lacks is utility with subclass synergy which is right, but even then we have things to negate that
Feel like you’re underestimating Slice, for this season specifically. Lots of bonuses for solar damage supers this season, and the seasonal perk that goes smthn like “while radiant, do bonus damage to targets affected by strand or stasis debuff”. It’s a way to have a strand debuff in a solo or 3 man scenario without having a strand teammate. Of course, the question is “is it better than chill clip for this?” And I think 10 seconds of sever vs 4 seconds of slow speaks for itself.
I got the seasonal bow with Permeability + Golden Tricorne and I am absolutely obsessed with it. Having what is basically an infinite ammo sniper rifle nearly on demand no matter your subclass is hilarious. The seasonal pulse & the Vex handcannon can also roll the same combo.
Slight correction; Abyss Defiant is a 360, not a 600 like Ros Arago - its only real competitors atm are Coronach-22 and Gnawing Hunger. I've played with it for a while and my first impressions on it are great. I suspect it'll find a home in many peoples' loadouts, and I know it's found one in mine.
For the stasis trace I would do demo and well spring. Being enhanced means even more energy back. On a osimio build you get non stop grenades even faster( was using a something new with this roll)
I think Doomed Petitioner's best general use for precision boss damage crafted roll will be Enhanced battery, Envious, and Precision Instrument. Fully overflowed is 15 rounds vs 12 with reconstruction.
@@TheAegisRelic If Monochromatic Maestro were still around, I could see it being used by tether hunters. Starting with Izi shot, Wilderflight (which would also benefit from 3x void surge), then dumping Doomed. Sadly, you’re right and the solar options will just eclipse it regardless.
Not that it's immediately relevant to this PVE specialist channel, but the new comp pulse gets both Deconstruct AND Hakke origin trait, so probably really good anti-Titan anti-Stasis weapon in PVP.
Regarding Slice, one niche thing I've wondered about is the Seasonal Perk Torch; If you're radiant you deal additional weapon damage to severed target. I don't think Slice will be good on Strand classes generally, which is ironic, but what I was wondering about was the potential for using one of the primaries as part of a BnS rotation on Striker, any hunter, or Solar Warlock. Especially Solar Hunter or Solar warlock feel like they have options for a quick class ability as well as good melees for proccing Radiant with. I do personally feel it might be moreso cute than good, but Lethal Abundance/GL(?)/BnS Apex on a solar hunter (potentially with foetracer or radiant dance machine?) feels like it could be fun to try out. Other than that, it could be cute on the Strand Fusion together with Rain of Fire, but personally I'd rather use a kinetic special or one of the ammo perks for a better damage build for the fusion. All in all Slice feels niche but fun to mess around with.
Saddest thing about slice is that chill clip works with the artefact mod without needing your class ability and by now everyone should have a riptide laying around
Dude, Undercurrent looks like everything I wanted out of Prodigal Return. Voltshot on a GL was already exciting for a build I like to use, but having it on a wave frame? Definitely gonna grind for that.
Swashbuckler subsistence energy slot smg. Ive been waiting for one of these for so long ever since the changed the moon one. I wanted to see it in momentum control with throwing hammers and its finally here.
Onslaught got it's nerf reverted, so it doesn't decrease damage per bullet as you ramp up the stacks. So a Breakneck at max stacks being 720RPM produces a 60% DPS increase. The question is does it increase RPM by 90RPM per stack or is it a 20% increase per stack, as this could make high impacts with it insane or everything is just balanced.
I’m gonna keep a roll of the competitive pulse with deconstruct, mostly for titan barricades but also for the cope that it’s going to useful in something really niche in the future for PvE. Like if wrath of machine gets reissued
Incisor is phenomenal with Cenotaph, Slice and Killing Tally. Works well with double special including Indebted Kindness, but I know this video is old.
So dragons breath catalyst doesn't effect how many stacks of fuel it gains with each ignite, but increases the passive charge of the fuel the weapon naturally has. Without the catalyst, each stack takes 6 seconds to gain, where as with the catalyst (i'd know, I played way to many strikes already this season) it's halved to 3s per stack. With how you're all but guarantied an ignite from the x5 shot, this means you only have to really wait for 2 stacks to build up before you fire. Without catalyst, that means you can cycle it every 12s(Technically a bit more from travel time, and its count starting sometime between first contact and first fuel eject), where as with the catalyst, that turns to 6s ~. Its 1000% a big difference, since that rocket easily fills up 6-7s worth of time in damage, but may not carry our all 12. A few side points with this. I'm all but convinced its main rocket has an entity limit of 1, so if you fire another rocket, im pretty sure the first one disappears, even if it hasn't finished everything it'd do. More confidently, I can say its a weapon that is AMAZING in solo content, without needed ghorn proc for good damage, and not being bad like Ghorn. But in team setups, almost always wants to be a single use case on the fireteam, similar is effect and reason to witherhoard, and your tik and ignite damage gets eaten up by each other, tending to result in just less dmg. Finally, this thing makes mfing earthquakes, and can very often stagger bosses otherwise not being staggered by other rockets, see dmg testing with this against grasp ogre boss for example
I’ve been using slice for solo content to proc the artifact mod that gives a damage bonus while radiant to enemies affected by strand debuffs. Only really relevant for solo this season, but worth noting
The thing Hothead has that the new one doesn’t have is Adept Big Ones. Which if you have a focused group doesn’t matter. But for things like solo lost sectors, or Nightfall groups that are not coordinated with Gjally, Adept Big Ones is a huge upgrade because it combines major/boss spec which gives Hothead bonus damage against champs and bosses, instead only one or the other.
@@TheAegisRelic I'd be willing to cough up to this being cope on my part lol! I have this Hothead with Tracking and Explosive Light and it's been my 'Old Reliable' for a couple years now lol.
Usable I suppose but I expect Omniscient to be universally upon reprise and I think for the bosses where Tumulus is used I think IKELOS_SR is better with Fury
I think you're underrating permeability. If they ever put it on a kinetic slot weapon you'll be able to use it with a gyrfalcon build while still having a void special and power weapon.
Permeability unfortunately blocks the other column from getting any elemental keyword perks in the other column, so it hurts the normal viability of some of those weapons which then get pigeonholed into running Golden Tricorn with it. It does have a bit of playstyle flow to it with Perm + GT, though. Class ability -> Weapon Kill -> Ability Kill -> GTx2
I really don't understand why people value changing a weapon's affinity when affinity has had very little importance in the current sandbox and this consumes an entire perk that could be used for something else
Undercurrent: My problem is not Forbearance, but that we don't have a Subclass 3.0 Solar Wave frame since Explosive Personality released with mid perk options
Could you consider making a video talking about the different archetypes? At several points in this video, you mention "_ is a preferred Pulse Rifle archetype in PVE". I would really appreciate some guidance on certain weapon classes and what makes one archetype better than another in your view.
I know its been a day but I got Scatter Signal crafted with Enhanced Overflow & Controlled Burst. I don’t know how to test it, all I know is “haha funny rapid fusion with controlled burst”.
I think Demo is a simulated reload and might mess up Killing Tally, but I'm not sure. Traces are niche picks for end-game stuff, not including Cenotaph, but Ceno already reloads your trace for you so no need for Demo.
@@TheAegisRelic thanks for the reply man, I really appreciate your videos. I find myself disagreeing on some stuff, likely just because I don’t do the highest endgame content like speed runs, but your videos have actually helped my raid team’s overall DPS.
@@TheAegisRelic Yeah I have historically liked AT + SWU but since the bow will be so easy to craft I’m going to give SWU + Explosive Head a try. We have a whole half year season to kill so
Regarding your comment that Bungie usually doesn't put really good weapons in the world drop pool - that definitely was true for a long time but lately they've been putting some really good stuff in there. Season of Defiance, we had Battle Scar (which was the only pulse at the time to get kinetic tremors) and harsh language. Last season, we had heliocentric, nox perennial, and psi hermetic. It's really annoying since there used to be no way to grind for world drop weapons. And even with the gunsmith and lost sector loot changes, we still can't grind for the brand new world drop weapons, which absolutely sucks.
If nothing else, they certainly listened when people complained about season of the witch weapons being bad, we've got a lot of solid contenders and options this season.
Considering his opinions are endgame oriented and the endgame for gms revolves around banner titans or ceno rocket spam, I don't see Dragons being a bad option. It's putting in some work when I was farming world drops in T. Overload yesterday
I've been using it with ikelos shotty which is quite nice. Also been running it with an incandescent trace on stasis which is dope bc you can as clear and fuel the rocket
My suspicion is that, assuming Dragon's Breath takes a little bit of time to fuel back up, BnS Supremacy might finally have a niche in combination with it. At the very least it seems to do more damage than Anarchy, going by the testing here.
Aegis Slick draw is better than quickdraw for pve. Quickdraw only effects draw speed, slick gives its handling to stow which is a big deal, it also has the same scalar as quickdraw AND applies to ADS speed.
I got a subsistence + onslaught on Breakneck with Ricochet and Fluted with a stab MW and holy shit, it might be my main auto from now on. Theres no damage reduction from onslaught so the RPM increase is a direct DPS increase and with subsistence it can surprisingly keep going. In PvE with red bars I basically never reload. Its not great for harder content though, Id pick kinetic for that if anything. But PvP and general PvE Onslaught is absolutely the play.
What is the usage of rocket in GM? I know it’s mainly for champ nuke but i don’t understand why BnS apex is not as good as slideshot biopod crux. Isn’t more damage always good?
Even though I’m 90% sure it won’t work on anything serious/high difficulty. Adhortative having heal clip/incandescent might be fine as a “filthy casual” pve perk if you missed out on Jurassic green. (Mostly because I just think the grungy overgrown look is rad as hell)

I'm really looking forward to the wave frame. Considering on level content is where ads reliably die in one wave chain reaction or not, I'm looking forward to trying something that offers more synergy with the current subclass sandbox
Thanks for making the video and peeping all the comments man. Surprised that you didn't call out onslaught on the strand machine gun.
Only thing Forb lacks is utility with subclass synergy which is right, but even then we have things to negate that
I will admit though that Undercurrent could replace it in higher end content where jolt is really beneficial
Looking forward to your take on the exotic armor changes
Nice work, that was really helpful!
I don't account for artifact when I analyze weapons, for that purpose it might be useful but I don't see why you wouldn't just use Nav
Did I say it was a 600? I swear I called it a high impact
For the stasis trace I would do demo and well spring. Being enhanced means even more energy back. On a osimio build you get non stop grenades even faster( was using a something new with this roll)
Me personally I'd do Demo Headstone especially on stasis subs
I think Doomed Petitioner's best general use for precision boss damage crafted roll will be Enhanced battery, Envious, and Precision Instrument. Fully overflowed is 15 rounds vs 12 with reconstruction.
Yeah definitely Envious but I can't see people picking it over Briar's or Cata in basically any instance
The DPS god has spoken
I’m going to get a rod arago with perm and onslaught. Pair it with ballidorse wrath weavers for triple stasis weapons and surge on rift cast.
Not that it's immediately relevant to this PVE specialist channel, but the new comp pulse gets both Deconstruct AND Hakke origin trait, so probably really good anti-Titan anti-Stasis weapon in PVP.
and vorpal in the third column. those cabal ships wont know what hit em
Definitely gonna grind for that.
i want to see that slideshot surrounded crux + 4th horseman at the top of the dps spreadsheet. Idc how impractical it is XD.
Swashbuckler subsistence energy slot smg. Ive been waiting for one of these for so long ever since the changed the moon one. I wanted to see it in momentum control with throwing hammers and its finally here.
Wat da
Onslaught got it's nerf reverted, so it doesn't decrease damage per bullet as you ramp up the stacks. So a Breakneck at max stacks being 720RPM produces a 60% DPS increase. The question is does it increase RPM by 90RPM per stack or is it a 20% increase per stack, as this could make high impacts with it insane or everything is just balanced.
I would like to see the numbers on it yeah
I’m gonna keep a roll of the competitive pulse with deconstruct, mostly for titan barricades but also for the cope that it’s going to useful in something really niche in the future for PvE. Like if wrath of machine gets reissued
Gonna use the void sword with repulsor/surrounded on my gryfalcon build for some invis ninja fun
So another Witherhoard situation with the Catalyst where it’s wanted if you’re doing swapping DPS.
the four guns with the wacky names are reprised season of the undying (season 8) weapons btw
Yeah appreciate the shout
Im surprised you choose chattering bone with rapid hit kinetic over battlescar with shoot to loot kinetic.
I might revisit that when I make the primary video :P
I’ve been using slice for solo content to proc the artifact mod that gives a damage bonus while radiant to enemies affected by strand debuffs. Only really relevant for solo this season, but worth noting
I tend to not account for artifact mods when analyzing perks, but I did hear that that was an interaction worth looking into
i’ve used the bow with deconstruct and after a couple hits it insta reloads like the arrow just appears
the goat is back with an update letsgooo!!!
Adept Big Ones is rarely important imo but yeah true ig
@@TheAegisRelic I'd be willing to cough up to this being cope on my part lol! I have this Hothead with Tracking and Explosive Light and it's been my 'Old Reliable' for a couple years now lol.
Rewind attrition orbs parabellum is an orb generation monster for anyone interested.
uniquely, riiswalker is the only special ammo gun in the game that can roll discord+harmony for a no backup plans build or something.
I suppose, I'm waiting for like a GL or something to get it :P
Thank you. I was waiting on your vid
Dismantled a clown/bipod crux roll earlier. I dont really expect to like it, but ill try it out if it drops again. Thanks for the vid
Not a huge loss but I'm glad you're looking out for it now :)
Wouldn’t twilight with envious vorpal be a decent fill in for distant tumulus
Usable I suppose but I expect Omniscient to be universally upon reprise and I think for the bosses where Tumulus is used I think IKELOS_SR is better with Fury
"Sorry for flashbanging you guys" as I violently recoiled like a gremlin from the flash.
I think you're underrating permeability. If they ever put it on a kinetic slot weapon you'll be able to use it with a gyrfalcon build while still having a void special and power weapon.
Problem is (for now) that perk is only on energy and heavy weapons 😅
Permeability unfortunately blocks the other column from getting any elemental keyword perks in the other column, so it hurts the normal viability of some of those weapons which then get pigeonholed into running Golden Tricorn with it. It does have a bit of playstyle flow to it with Perm + GT, though. Class ability -> Weapon Kill -> Ability Kill -> GTx2
I really don't understand why people value changing a weapon's affinity when affinity has had very little importance in the current sandbox and this consumes an entire perk that could be used for something else
I have a feeling dragons breath is going to pair great with the new warlock super.
What new warlock super? Might've missed it
@@agiraffe2999dropping with final shape, so 6 months from now
On deconstruct you missed the part where it says you get ammo back in the mag after sustained damage.
Does it generate ammo or just reload?
High impact autos feel pretty good with the slight dps increase.
This seasons perks and traits seem pretty centered around The Coil activity, which, might be a hot take, but I find it to be an absolute blast.
so that exotic strand bow is craftable, probably from an exotic mission. Very exciting
13:29 a certain sweaty guy is gonna have fun with this RL
Wonder how the void auto rifle will be with onslaught and volatile rounds getting max cooldown volatile explosions
Peep the classical music popping up mide twilight oath
👍
the trace is absolutely incredible on osmeomancy warlock
I got a tracking/bipod sleepless and man it isnt top tier but im in love
Undercurrent: My problem is not Forbearance, but that we don't have a Subclass 3.0 Solar Wave frame since Explosive Personality released with mid perk options
Dragons breath + Dawn Chorus is apparently chunking (1 shot then pop dawnblade) but idk where this would rank on strategy’s though
Could you consider making a video talking about the different archetypes? At several points in this video, you mention "_ is a preferred Pulse Rifle archetype in PVE". I would really appreciate some guidance on certain weapon classes and what makes one archetype better than another in your view.
It's just DPS and a preference for lightweights (handling + move speed)
Could atriition orbs be good for a cenotaph mask setup?
Eh it has to be like really little damage for it to be worth
@@TheAegisRelic I'm thinking for it's use in a grandmaster setting marking a target so your team can rocket them with a free surge mod activation
Okay apparently it sucks it requires like 2/3 of a mag dump LMAO
@@TheAegisRelic nevet mind lmao those terms are shit
I know its been a day but I got Scatter Signal crafted with Enhanced Overflow & Controlled Burst. I don’t know how to test it, all I know is “haha funny rapid fusion with controlled burst”.
It's in the next video
My first Crux got Slide, Surrounded with Quick Launch and Impact with Velocity MW and it is so much damn fun to dump ammo into bosses
Goated
The void 180 hc looks interesting with demo+tricorn
I'm not a huge fan of commit perks on primaries but if there had to be a primary type with it I'd pick HCs
Double-Edged Answer can get En Garde in the left column, though, and it’s an Adaptive. Could that make it a good swap option a la Heartshadow?
I tried En Garde swapping it is so bad bro it has an ICD that is extremely annoying to deal with
@@TheAegisRelic Damn, RIP then. Of all the perks to have an icd on too, I swear.
No killing Talley on the traces’s? I’m curious why not, especially demo killing Talley, that seems very good.
I think Demo is a simulated reload and might mess up Killing Tally, but I'm not sure. Traces are niche picks for end-game stuff, not including Cenotaph, but Ceno already reloads your trace for you so no need for Demo.
While Demo won't mess up KT, I don't think traces are worth using for commit add clear in most cases
@@TheAegisRelic thanks for the reply man, I really appreciate your videos. I find myself disagreeing on some stuff, likely just because I don’t do the highest endgame content like speed runs, but your videos have actually helped my raid team’s overall DPS.
Lethophobia has successful warm up (typically a fourth column perk) in the third column as the replacement to archer’s tempo
There are bows with AT + SWU though, tbh being a lightweight + no fundamental bow perks is kind of a miss imo
@@TheAegisRelic Yeah I have historically liked AT + SWU but since the bow will be so easy to craft I’m going to give SWU + Explosive Head a try. We have a whole half year season to kill so
Onslaught is back too on a few weapons and it slaps
Regarding your comment that Bungie usually doesn't put really good weapons in the world drop pool - that definitely was true for a long time but lately they've been putting some really good stuff in there. Season of Defiance, we had Battle Scar (which was the only pulse at the time to get kinetic tremors) and harsh language. Last season, we had heliocentric, nox perennial, and psi hermetic. It's really annoying since there used to be no way to grind for world drop weapons. And even with the gunsmith and lost sector loot changes, we still can't grind for the brand new world drop weapons, which absolutely sucks.
If nothing else, they certainly listened when people complained about season of the witch weapons being bad, we've got a lot of solid contenders and options this season.
do you think for this season at least Dragons could be a really good option for GMs on solar weeks kinda as a solar anarchy?
Considering his opinions are endgame oriented and the endgame for gms revolves around banner titans or ceno rocket spam, I don't see Dragons being a bad option. It's putting in some work when I was farming world drops in T. Overload yesterday
Dragon's is fine but I think Pack Hunter rockets still have more lethality and don't force exotic slot usage
Aegis my king 👑
I feel that with the artifact perks this season, using dragons breath with ikelos SR or shotgun depending on range might be really good
I've been using it with ikelos shotty which is quite nice.
So I've been told :P I'll be sure to make note of that, actually I'll make a pinned comment
Quickdraw frenzy is basically instant stow and ready
Question. Vanguard sword, nadir focus+valiant charge. How that work? Does it stack? If so, superskate?
I might try it out this season!
@@TheAegisRelic same, if i get the roll soon will comment.
check out the dawning event weapons they got some nice additions in terms of perks
I'll take a look when they drop :P
Would a slide shot rocket be good for solo content or are there generally better power weapons for that?
It's possible but without Pack it's a bit rough imo
Idk if they fixed it but suspending with the grenade procs tricorn into tier 2
Interesting
@@TheAegisRelic I think it could see use in GM's or contest for non titans if on strand but that's pretty niche. probs fun tho
Aegis showing his newlight thinking those undying weapons were new this season.
I'm just a lowly Y4 player...
You are not getting BnS on first shot in GMs and champs die in one rocket from each person
@@TheAegisRelic thanks for the answer!
Slice is only good cause of the artifact perk that makes you deal extra damage to enemies with a strand or stasis debuff while you're radiant
Yeah I don't consider artifact when analyzing weapons but that is a consideration
The 600 void auto is sooo good. Also Abyss Defiant is nice but 360s still feel bad to use especially in more endgame content compared to faster ROF weapons
For sure, I wish Abyss was a different archetype
does the increased charge rate from the origin trait increase the rpm of the supercluster shotgun?
No, and the wording would have to be "fire rate" for that to be the case
Hey Aegis, are you gonna review the buffed apotheosis veil? Popping well gives you basically a pre nerf starfire for 8 seconds
Talking about it in next video
Yippee
My opinion on the meta has finally arrived
