Young man I'm few years older than you, but dam if it doesn't sound like dealing with getting older before your mind is ready. I'm not dealing with anything like what you are, but I've dealt with degenerative bone disease since I was a kid. My knees were trashed in the early 80's bad enough the state of Texas was willing to retrain me in anything to get me outta of construction. I always wanted to be a chef, and I checked into going to culinary school at the time. Only it required 8 hours class time a day, and 8 hours working in a commercial kitchen doing apprenticeship at minimum wage. Being as I had a young son, wife, house payment, and I always made sure that they had a new car to get where they needed to go. I just couldn't see the way to pay for everything on those wages, and even with the wife working couldn't make it work. So for 30 some odd more years I did what they said I couldn't do, and the surgeon that removed all chewed up cartilage from between my bones told me that I'd need new knees in 10 years just getting around. Well both knees are still mine, I've had my necked worked on twice with bone fusions as the results of that. Can't throw a ball with any accuracy past my shadow at noon, not too mention I'm seriously thinking of adding mirrors to my mf 135 so I can backup to pickup round bales for the cattle, are just changing implements, because it normally takes about 3 to 5 attempts to get square to hook up. Then I usually just get close, and then fight the pieces of equipment into line with the tractor because I've started losing my patience with myself for being the way I am. But me and Arthur been great friends since my 20's, and I typically worked 6 to 7 days a week all my life, and that doesn't count coming home and working till midnight more nights than I didn't. Nowadays I can't find anything even if I just had it few minutes earlier, and dam if sometimes I never do find whatever I was looking for that I just had in my hands. Can't remember words sometimes to save my life, even though it's almost as if I can see what it is in my mind, but it refuses to come out my mouth. This too frustrates me to no end, because I was always able to remember detailed blueprints to very large multi million dollar projects, and even the required specifications required to meet the job requirements. But now I'm losing shit every day, and it's gotten worse as time goes by. Here I always figured I would drop dead in my old age on a jobsite, because I was bad workaholic as you ever saw. Truthfully I'd loved to have went that way, but it wasn't to be, and what I use to do in short time, now it turns into a struggle to even halfass something, because before I can fix it right five more emergencies hit me one after the other if not two at a time. When you can't hardly walk, can't get up off the ground if you have to do something requiring it, your right arm won't go above your shoulder height, you can't look over your shoulder to see, and you can't hardly tote a sack of feed more a few feet. Sir I understand whole heartedly where your coming from. Plus I don't like to ask anyone to do something for me that's mine to do regardless of whatever it is. Just be glad SSI recognized your need, because they tell me I'm not qualified for it. I told them that I would be dead by the time they finally approved me, and I won't sat what I said they could do with the dam money as I walked out the door, and I ain't ever went back, nor do I intend to even if I have to spend my last days under a dam bridge

Nice video kid. Keep up the good work. Keep doing what your doing and don't worry about getting your videos out they will get watched when you put them out.
I bought a pertronix flame thrower gm hei, rebuild kit for the short side I used to have, and that was good stuff. That was 15 years ago though. It really woke that truck up, probably the lighter springs I put in it, but it made a huge difference. I don’t think any of these electronics are worth a crap these days. Hell, Bill talks about the new vs old msd boxes, how they’re junk now. Maybe you could score an old one off of eBay or something. Just sucks buying old used parts and there junk. I think bill and Lucore has been through a couple of those boxes each.
Yeah I've had good luck with pertronix stuff in the past like you said about 15 years ago, so the flamethrower 3 module was a disappointment. but I have had my fair share of msd and accell product failures that left me stranded in the woods that is why I don't trust any of the electronic crap that China shits out. Bill has went through 2 or 3 new msd boxes and like you said lucore has also had a few. A fellow omg family member named Bill Morgan has offered me an old 6al box, I thought that was really nice.

Hey Adam, I swap out SSR's at work (Solid State Relays) and we use the same silicon "schmoo". Believe it or not, it's to transfer the heat from the device to the backplane that they bolt to. If it weren't there, the SSR would fail prematurely from excessive heat. I'm betting that the Pertronix module builds up the heat, too, and transfers that to the baseplate of the distributor. Thanks for making the video. Shame that you had an MSD box shit the bed, but it happens. I've always subscribed to the thought that "When it breaks, it's an excuse to buy a better one". :)
I've just watched all ur vid :and I've watched alot of David vizards and his and your knowledge on these engines is awesome I got a sbc 400 with kb 18 cc dish pistons 5:7 rods stock crank balanced been sitting for 12 years are more been wanting to buy cam and heads goin in a 1988 chevy sb 4x4: and you have give me alot to think about on narrowing down :thank you and God bless

@@ACDGarage_Racing too easy bud .how you been lately hopefully you ain't in too much pain an can get in the shed working away.i haven't been far enough yet to figure out the whole back story I find time an go through all the posted content mate..
I appreciate your support brother, the last few days have been ruff as far as pain and the inability to move very well, so I'm just taking it easy and resting today. The reason for the pain is I was paralyzed, almost died and the rare injury that caused me to become paralyzed resulted in a rare condition called complex regional pain syndrome or crps it is the most painful condition known to man. On the pain scale it ranks higher than child birth, terminal cancer and amputation of a finger without anesthesia which I can confirm because I have had my finger bitten off and that wasn't shit it didn't bother me at all. I had also beat the shit out of my body my whole life then I broke my back at work in 2006 when I was 20 and my doctor said my spine looked like i was 70+years old, and my back has only gotten worse in the last 16 years. I was seeing a chiropractor when I was 2 because I fell out of a 3 story apartment window and It messed up my back then. So I have been battling with pain for a long time which only makes you tougher.

You have great info in your videos and are doing a great job with your editing . Wish I would have build a 383 fir my blazer but decided to stick with the 350 and spend the money on heads . How much and what brand is the AFR gauge you want to get ? I’m curious , was thinking of picking one up myself .
Thanks brother. Yeah there are always some compromises when building an engine on a budget I understand that, all you can do on a budget is put alot more effort into modifying parts of the engine to compensate for the lack of money. The afr Guage I was looking at is the aem 30-0300 x-series wide and uego afr sensor controller guage, it's supposed to be a good one its like $185 on Amazon. I had the part number written down. Hope that helps.
@@leprechaungarage no problem. I had a typo on the last comment the guage brand is aem. I went and changed it but I don't know if youtube will tell you I edited the comment.
Cattle dog I had the same issue you had with my msd box . I have not drove my truck yet because it's a project I'm putting together. I only crank it to let it idle about 6 times and the last time I did it was no spark. MSD had started getting their electronics boards from China. I'm looking into progression ignition system or DUI PERFORMANCE
That would be awesome and I would be very grateful, I can't afford a new msd box and I'm not sure if I would want a new one with all the problems they've been having. It would be really sweet to have a Rev limiter again.
I'm building a compiton 454 bored out 30 over with the good peanuckel heads , I don't have a cam for it yet . I would love your suggestion for the cam so that I can order one . If you could would you give me a good race cam suggestion.
Awesome truck and engine. And may i say you are a survivor and inspiration as many with you are. And godly, and it is easy to see god works in your life. . .And hope you don't mind we say a prayer for you that all miracles can and shall happen as all things are possible through god, and heal you and you are worthy. Please at least three with i am, in christ, command with the lips of your mouth "in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit, the christ and christ with us and in us, heal this person that he not lose their brain, and let him support his family and thank you for the fellowship and meaningful fellowship even we are brought together in hot rodding and interests, let us be gathered to god as it is so. Thank you god, you are so gracious. And thanks the maker of cattledog garage for sharing your experience, and even the experience of pain we can all learn from and know how to save and heal eachother how god has commanded. Not preaching, just saying a prayer over you and please let others join in to speak the same. For where three are gathered in the name of i am, there i am is also in christ holy holy holy god with us. period.
@@Doug-b4p i am that i am, and those churches, likely are not holy churches, for they kick out the needy and those whom seek sanctuary instead, they want wealthy to feed them money
Im working on a video specifically about the engine in that truck so all that information is coming out in one of my upcoming videos. I had said the cam specs in an older video but I accidentally said the wrong specs because of the issue with my brain.
Hey I want you to think about what I said on the comment below let's try to build a show that caters to the subscribers it could be monthly Maybe by monthly however long it takes us to do one episode you know I know it's a lot of hard work and all but I truly believe that if we start catering to the subscribers and building for them they will build our Channel up your Channel
No one cares really they are all to wrapped up in themselves as u know they look at you and surmize hey he looks ok to me ive been suffering with the same thing for 38 yrs and i just lost my mom have you found pain meds that work for you? Disability is what it is better than nuthin I feel for you and understand if you need to talk im here for you names doug
Hey and I think I got a hell of an idea to get your Channel rocking hard with thousands and thousands of hours of viewing time and hundreds of thousands of subscribers just by doing something a little bit different than the others do and my deal were to be like how about get one of your subscribers that has an engine that is not a mechanic and has no Savvy or is somewhat Savvy but needs help and he brings you he brings the engine to you and you guys rebuild it together you rebuild it for him basically Hands-On training them I think we're on to something if you want to try to start this I mean I got a few engines at I would be happy to donate to the channel to get going I need my 327 built and I don't know where to start
I do, I just started it a few months ago, its my first Facebook account and I started it just to be able to communicate easier with a few people I have met on here. There arent very many people that know it exists because i don't put much if any effort into Facebook, there is to much mainstreem bs and notifications involved. And to be honest I've never been much of a social media person in the first place.. one of the only reasons I even considered to try starting a youtube channel was being as disabled and I feel almost as if I'm just a super analytical brain is trapped in a body, with that being said I have alot of time on my hands and my brain don't stop thinking all the time so I took it apon myself to study and analyzed youtube for about 1.5 years,, then after consolidating every minute detail I knew that I would be able to be somewhat successful and so far so good..if face book was more like youtube I would probably put more time into it..but as I said I do have I Facebook and if you send a request I will accept it... take care...

Great content 👌 and much respect on your hard work 👏
Thank you, I appreciate you watching.

Thanks for putting yourself out there buddy and telling your story. It's not under your control so you shouldn't be embarrassed. I've watched your camshaft video 3 times now. Great knowledge. I was writing this comment then all of a sudden I get blasted in my headphones with glorious exhaust noise that scared the shit out of me... haha
Nice truck👍 definitely would like to hear more on the engine that's in it. Also don't feel bad your doing more than most people would in far less of conditions a big 👍for pushing forward. I subscribed to your channel hope it takes off for you.

@@ACDGarage_Racing I stuck my middle finger an pointer finger in a 80s exercise bike I was 3-going on 4 I still remember it like it happened yesterday I know that feeling.lmfao..😂 I'm stoked it's not put you in a chair for life . hopefully you have some great mates to keep you're spirits high positive.hiw unlucky did you feel getting such a diagnosis wow..like I said when I've got time I'll go through you're video list some more ..cheers mate ..
@@ACDGarage_Racing mate I don't doubt for second you're one tough sunnuva bitch..that's inspiring truely.since I've torn my rotator cuff, that was the most pain I've had despite broken ankle smashed wrist yea I probably got no reason to be bitching an a little depressed even but thanks to channels like you mate it honestly helps total motivation when it's fixed ..I'm not trying to compare battle scares either there's no competition bud ...
Love ur stuff dude and u have great info and nice rides
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it!
Thank you that was very interesting keep on teaching I’m here to learn believe me I have learned a lot from ur videos!
Buddy you've gave me a lot of knowledge I'll gladly throw ya like and a comment
@@ACDGarage_Racing thanks man .
@@leprechaungarage no problem. I had a typo on the last comment the guage brand is aem. I went and changed it but I don't know if youtube will tell you I edited the comment.
@@ACDGarage_Racing I figured it out already lol I miss type/spell stuff all the time haha
Keep sharing as much as possible. I’m watching everything you put out as long as you’re something out. Now where is your merch?
God bless. Your ability is amazing!
I'd watch it if you put it out there
I did but you tube wouldn't let me do it
Great content. Any chance you might be able to run your truck at a drag strip? I’m sure that would attract a lot of viewers.👍 Great job you’re doing.
Good bless you and your family
Thank you...🙏🏼🙏🏼
Cattle dog I had the same issue you had with my msd box . I have not drove my truck yet because it's a project I'm putting together. I only crank it to let it idle about 6 times and the last time I did it was no spark. MSD had started getting their electronics boards from China. I'm looking into progression ignition system or DUI PERFORMANCE
I bought a new pertronix hp ignition box with all the bells and whistles and it has never worked
Yeah, this is the first thing I have bought from pertronix and it is the last.
Man, your doing great Job.
You build bad ass engines!! 💪👊🤘 Got any for sale?
I've got a 6al box you can have if you'd want it
That would be awesome and I would be very grateful, I can't afford a new msd box and I'm not sure if I would want a new one with all the problems they've been having. It would be really sweet to have a Rev limiter again.
@@ACDGarage_Racing right on just need to figure out a time and place to get it to you

Nice truck. Does it have idle surge?
I’m build a 406ci sbc and wanting the performance of your engine. Needing help on the cam. Love your video’s and any help you can give me. Thank you
Also it may be breaking up for two reasons 1 it needs 12 volts from the ignition wire , 2 must use their pertronix ignition coil
Good job Dude
Thank You...🙏🏼
Makes for a good review video.
I'm building a compiton 454 bored out 30 over with the good peanuckel heads , I don't have a cam for it yet . I would love your suggestion for the cam so that I can order one . If you could would you give me a good race cam suggestion.
I'm putting it in a 97 Chevy Silverado extended cab
Awesome video ,i subbed
For where three are gathered in the name of i am, there i am is also in christ holy holy holy god with us. period.
You are preaching you are so full of yourself just like all those holier than thou people that fill the pews every sunday
@@Doug-b4p i am that i am, and those churches, likely are not holy churches, for they kick out the needy and those whom seek sanctuary instead, they want wealthy to feed them money
What town do you live in? It reminds me of Northern California were i was born.
I live in Rochester WA its in Southwest WA, im originally from Tenino WA... Thank you for the comment, have a good day🙏🏼
I really want your cam specs its last part i need for my build
By the way, do you know your intake volume/ ported? I'd really like to know your cam specs. Chris
Disability is what it is better than nuthin
I feel for you and understand if you need to talk im here for you names doug
Another awesome video thanks Adam! BTW I am praying for you and I appreciate everything you do as I am sure others are right there.
Do you have a facebook page?
