Not just the best read for children; the best read for EVERYONE, including ADULTS. Too many of us refuse to, or are uncomfortable with the facts our Our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم life. He صلى الله عليه وسلم was, and he IS رحمة للعالمين , Rahmatun li'l Aalameen, Mercy to All the Worlds, وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ We have not sent you but as a mercy to all the worlds [Qiur'an 21:107] and pebbles did praise him صلى الله عليه وسلم and camels did complain to him صلى الله عليه وسلم of ill-treatment. And we should celebrate and exult in that. Yes, the so-called intellectuals and sophisticates and atheists and naysayers will scoff at such reports; but they doubt even that the Qur'an is a revelation; and as our Qur'an itself says: وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَآءُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ And on the Day when the enemies of Allah will be assembled and driven to the Fire حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا مَا جَآءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ And when they reach it, their ears, eyes, and skins will attest to all that they did. وَقَالُوا۟ لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ And when they protest and say, “wherefore do you bear witness against us?” قَالُوٓا۟ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ They will answer, “God who gives speech to all things, has caused us to speak; after all, He it is Who created you out of nothing in the first place, and now to Him, are you being returned.” [Qur'an 41:19-21] There is no intellectual or cognitive or intelligence or knowledge divide between us believers and them NON-believers - we are as smart as them; and it is not as if we are weak-minded, bozos and schmucks, and they are Big Brain geniuses. As the Qur'an frequently reminds us, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said hate he said because of what he saw; and the non-believers refused to believe because they did not, or could not see: فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ I swear both by what you see وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ and what you do not see [Qur'an 69:38-39] So, yes, what we do have is an EPISTEMOLOGICAL divide with the naysayers; we know what we know based on sources of information that they do not accept as valid. But that is a different issue for another occasion, but once you accept that Allah is the Creator of ALL That Was, ALL That is, and ALL that will be; the whole of the Qur'an, the entire body of Hadith literature, the commentaries thereon INCLUDING Sheikh Hamza Yusuf HA's poem, is not only the best, but NECESSARY reading for children of all ages, even for those over the of 90.
