This has been happening on military bases around the world for decades. If you’re a BRAT, you grew up knowing what was expected of you. When I was in high school in the ‘70s, before the start of any film in base theaters, the National Anthem was played with the flag on the screen. You were to stand with your hand on your heart, and we did. If a couple of teenagers got cocky and did not, a pair of MPs were sent down the aisle to correct the issue. It could become a sticky situation if one of your parents held rank.
@@kathyegbert6532 They still play the National Anthem, here at Camp Lejeune, before the movies start. Never seen an MP in the theater-but also I’ve never seen anyone who didn’t stand for the Anthem. I love this tradition.
Having lived on military bases with my father being in the military, respect was just something you grew up knowing. You had an understanding of the sacrifices your mother or father made as a member of the military. Sometimes that admiration and respect can lead you into a career in the military as it did for me. But at the very least it makes you a respectful, proud citizen.
I would like to say that all these children deserve to be give a pat on the back, they are a credit not only to their parents but to themselves, God bless them.

Rather than show you are the independent thinker in the world full of mind numb robots (I am sure this is how you perceive yourself) You simply show your absolute ignorance in an old, honored and sacred ceremony. There is nothing here that suggest victim. Only respect due. But as I doubt you yourself have even dedicated even a moment of your life to the defense of others or something higher than yourself, I understand your ignorance. Best of luck hiding behind the shield of freedoms that others have created. Your safe space admission ticket and special snowflake award are that way --->
Have you served your country in the military? Have you had a family member serving and waited for them to come home not knowing if they were or not? I'm just wondering where your point of view is coming from?
I was raised as a military dependent. A few years ago, working construction, I had to work a job on base. I was embarrassed, to see my boss refusing to stand at at attention when the flag was being raised. I stood, and even put my hand over my heart (due to the flag being in clear sight). He kept on working and even made a joke about the current guy in office. I am not an obama fan at all, but the flag doesn't do with him, but with liberty, and freedom. He still made fun of men for doing it, but I can deal with his bullshit. It was than, I knew that he truly didn't appreciate his freedom.
I'm not military but you can bet your ass I'll stand for my colors. Very proudly. Strongly. And without a shred of Shame. So don't worry about him I'll stand with you
As a veteran who used to live on military installations, I had a feeling of pride when stopping and standing when this song was played. I kind of miss this stuff.
They looked at each other and stood, Not one had moved a muscle. They wouldn't move even if they could, Not one was in a hussle. They stood as their hearts, Sang to the music in despair, As they let go of all their parts, As if the music was their air. Only they were the ones to stand, As respect is now little to none, While their souls became a hand, When the song was almost done. Reaching out to the ones who died, As if they knew them as a friend, The song started to hide, When it came to be the end. They stopped and waited a moment, Then went on with their day, These five children gave a hint, That respect was still at bay. ~TB~
Ohh Trinity.... I can't even explain how much your beautiful poem completely ruined my makeup!!! As the daughter of a United States Marine I can tell you that there is a particular code that we were raised with. Patriotism, honor, and pride is not something that we were just taught - it runs in our blood. Your poem projected that phenomenally!! God Bless you for this. My cup runneth over. 🇺🇸
My daughter was the girl in yellow and your post brought tears to mine and my husband's eyes, we did not agree to this video being shared online and get very angry at the hate comments but the time you took to write this poem warms our hearts, thank you so much!
Any military brat in any branch of the service at any station at any time. I was 26 years active duty, Air Force. Ten years as a First Sergeant and now retired for 16 years. We lived all over the world and 4 kids born in three different countries. Recently my 34 year old daughter was coming out of a post office about a mile off base, heading back to my car, and the prevailing winds carried the sounds of retreat off base. As soon as she heard it, she came to attention and, "stood retreat." How much better could that be? I was proud, and she just said, "So am I." Her oldest brother is now retired Navy (Corpsman, so he was really a Marine - FMF pin) who was in the Balkan wars and Afghanistan and another brother was 8 years Marine. That's 54 years combined service from my family to yours for your protection and freedom. You're welcome. People who do not understand what this is all about are all barking up the wrong tree. Nuff' said. You can't win an argument with a stupid person.
Just received a letter today from the VA authorizing my much needed medical benefits. Then I see this great video of young people who still respect their country. WOW! TWO great things in one day. I am so glad I was able serve just a little bit in the USAF for my wonderful USA. Thanks for posting this wonderful video! ☆☆☆☆☆
They don’t have a choice. Mom or dads command will be called if they don’t. My command received a call after my child was caught riding a bicycle without a helmet.
Some one once asked me how I felt about Our Flag I said to them when you come off patrol and are on the trail leading to the outpost and you look over the wire and sand bags and see our Country's Flag flying it feels good. Watching these young people respect the Flag and that which it stands for is awesome and tears flow.Semper Fi
"LOCK YOUR NASTY BODIES!" Ohh wait, they're cute little kids doing their best. I'm proud of their parents and their respect. The cute little dance by the girl in yellow was the best. SEMPER FI!!!
This is my favorite video of all time and will be for years to come. The respect and honor these kids show is amazing. god bless them their family and parents.
We live on a military base. I drop my son off for school every morning when colors start. It still makes me smile when the kids stop. My two year old even knows to stop. He'll shush anyone who talks during colors. It's good for kids to have respect for colors and what it stands for. Great video
I grew up on military bases (Army brat). This was explained to me as the way we showed respect to those who were serving or had served our country, particularly those who had died for us. After that explanation, there was no need to force us to do anything.
Yep, growing up an Air Force brat, that’s totally my brothers and I right there! And I love the twirly jump the girl in yellow does at the end - yay! Back to play time! 😂 ❤️🇺🇸❤️
I love this video. I love the way the children recognize the significance of "Retreat" being played on base and show proper respect. (and especially how the little girl in the yellow dress acts - stops playing, shows respect and, when the music stops, returns to "little girl" mode by jumping, spinning and playing). It's not brainwashing but a show of respect for military traditions. I've had the honor of seeing hundreds of children on half a dozen fields getting ready for youth soccer stop what they're doing, stand still, face the flag/music and offer respect for Army tradition. It's a proud dad moment when you see your son set an example by standing still first, without any prompting.
Oh the emotions running through me right now could not be expressed. I was stationed in Okinawa for three years and my kids knew what colors meant. They were passionate about because I explained to them what kind of sacrifices it took for us to be able to honor our beloved Colors. Thanks for bringing this memory back, as I am going through a hard time and no longer get to see my kids as much as I want to. Semper Fi brother.
Position of attention, fingers curled...even a hard as nails Drill instructor would be proud. I'm Army and what's really sad is these punk Privates who feel "inconvenienced" by Colors. Makes me sick. These kids give me hope for the future. I have a 6 ya old daughter who knows to stand and render honors. Well done Mom and Dad. You have taught your kids right
In the 50's and 60's my mom was a civilian on an Army Base. I loved when we picked her up. Everyday at 4 p.m. taps would play, the flag would be taken down and everyone in cars would get out of their cars, salute or put their hand over their heart. We need that respect again. It was my favorite thing in the world. Thank you all for your Service. God bless.
My husband is retired Air Force and the only base I've heard this is on Fairchild AFB (not McChord, Travis, Eglin, McDill, or Homestead AFB's). It's played on many bases (Air Force, army, navy, Marines). Everyone is required to stop what they're doing, even civilians, and stand at attention until the music is over. If your going to your car with 15 bags of ice cream in 100 degree weather then you just stop in the middle of the parking lot until the music stops.
I heard it on Wheelus AFB, Tripoli, Wright Pat AFB Ohio, Hickham Field/Pearl Harbor HA, Pope/Ft Bragg NC, Travis AFB Ca, Ft Campbell KY, Pendleton CA , Sewart AFB TN
I am so glad someone posted a positive video. I love my country and am a proud American, to see children this day and age showing such respect is awesome!!
Was an Air Force Medic for four years then joined the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 19 year's and while in the Navy served with the Marines for over five years. Don't get to a Base that often anymore, but when I do I try to stay for the lowering of OUR FLAG either for Evening Colors at sunset on Navy and Marine Bases or Retreat on Army and Air Force Bases at 5 pm. Though I will admit that Evening Colors on Navy and Marine Corps Bases are more moving then Retreat on Army and Air Force Bases. Very proud to see these kids react the way they did and their reaction on Military Bases is normal, though I do think it was rehearsed a little bit for the video, but their actions are normal on Base.
that is awesome, reminds me of the video showing Robin Williams doing the same during one of his show. Im not much of a military kid, but this really show these kids have respect for the families and those around them......
+EveryChevyChase really? I'm around kids all day, and none would know what this or what to do during such. so yes I'll give then the credit they deserve and your trolling credit
sorry about the troll thing and you dont want conflict? telling someone they are in bubble is can of starting conflict, but I encounter conflict in conversations all the time. And kids these days are alot smarter then 6 year olds back in the 80s. How do you know its training? How do you know its not respect for their family and friends? You can say you are not trying to be controversial when talking about something you only know from the out side looking in, but yet, those comments can be taken as such. Are you trying to understand who these kids are? What they have seen? If this is a military base, how many of those kids have lost parents because of war and they are not doing this because of any training, but respecting their family that might have fallen, their friends.
Ok, you are placing your own ideas on what these kids are feeling off of a video and som how structuring their full mind set on this alone and not what they are actually feeling or who they really are, you have no idea what those kids feel and yes, kids are much smarter then were at this age. My 6 year old already knows about cow slaughter, heart operations, the civil rights movement and things as such. He understands respect and gives it. And "my Bubble" as you put it, again, you have no idea what my bubble is. for some reason, because I think these kids are showing respect I have no varying mind set. That I only hang with these people (which that in it self is a puzzle, because you never really say who these people are). You seem to be the one in a bubble by thinking you have any idea off my full mind set by a simple comment and thinking, for what ever reason, that I am in anyway up set. I am not. its a computer chat and for all know, you could be a computer. I dont know you and have no idea who you are, its just words on a computer screen of someone who is passing judgment on another based on a simple idea I had that I feel these kids are showing respect......
@EveryChevyChase Please explain why you believe their respect is misplaced. And please explain your grievance with the military man, as if he isn’t necessary. Violence and armed conflict have always been part of the human story. Rough men have always been needed. Now, would it be nice if we didn’t need armies? Heck yes. One could only dream of such a world. But that isn’t reality. If I were you, I’d be a little more careful when you talk about other people living in bubbles.
I think this is awesome. These children are a credit to their parents. To the negative posters, I not only point out that they are on a USMC base, but at least one of their parent's are enlisted and stationed there. It would be a tragedy if these kids didn't support their parents. Great job Danielle and Simper Fi !!!
Back in the sixties we were Air Force kids, luckily able to travel with Dad (Of Blessed Memory) for most of his assignments, so this was the norm for base living. Thank you for the journey back. :)
Why? Why is this considered respect? I don't see it as respectful, just doing what is required on a military base ... respect is more than just what is required to be done.
Agree 110% with the comments below from John Fuentes. Danielle Tomei Davila, you and rest of the Marines and Marine families at New River should be very proud. This does give me hope for our future.
This does my heart good. All those years in the Army while on base/post, be it driving, walking or whatever, revielle or taps started playing you stopped what you were doing, got out of your car, faced the music or flag if in sight and saluted if in uniform or hand over heart if not, both soldiers and civilians. So glad to see service kids doing this unprompted by adults
As long as there are parents out there like the ones of these kids and there are kids like these who grow up to be fine men and women......there is still some hope left for our country. Thank you to the parents of these children.
+John Fuentes So you believe that kids being brainwashed and conditioned into serving government/the state, is a good thing? You need to do your homework on the term *freedom* and see if it has anything to do with such a belief as yours. Good luck.
Every time I hear evening colors it feels like my best friend is alive and we're a team again. It's kinda weird, but colors means that much to me. Carry on.
I hope you realize how many memories this brings back to not only myself but my friends and family who lived on the Weapon Station Charleston, SC 1970-1974. It brings tears to our eyes. It brings back memories of respect, the safety of the kids in the playground and a life that we no longer have. Thank you.
This question is asked a lot as though a parent couldn't possibly be commemorating something their children participate in on a nightly basis on a military base.
I recall years ago, living in a little house near Mount Olivet Cemetery, and hearing the Twenty-one Gun Salute as well as "Taps", during a military funeral. I'd be standing there, doing the dishes, and be filled with quiet awe, and then tears. Tears of grief, joy, and an overwhelming rush of gratitude.
+Sergio Alvarez You, like many others posting on this video, are a bunch of sorry ass simple-minded, military and government worshipping half-wits. Went to government run schools, didn't ya? Was Iraq gonna invade the USA and turn us into a bunch of Islamists? How 'bout Iran? Is Iran gonna invade the US and turn us into some tyrannical Sharia law run theocracy? There's nobody in the middle east that threatens any of the rights protected by the US Constitution other than our own US Government and it's order followers..ie...the military and police. Great video. Great respect. I lived all over the far east growing up. All on US military bases. As a kid I remember how annoying this was sometimes. As an adult, I am proud when I think back. This video reminded me of those days. It was a good memory. Great kids! USA!!! Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful! Proud of them & their parents for teaching them respect. Just spent 2 weeks visiting my son & family who live on NAS Pensacola & it was a joy to watch my 4 & 6 YO grandsons standing at attention & saluting during morning & evening colors. I stood right with them :)
That is awesome!!! I don't know how many times I almost got hit by a car in parking lots or how many times my car almost got hit because people just don't care and my ass at attention was in their way apparently.
You did a fine job raising your children Marine. I was stationed there back in 72 and noticed the kids at that time were the same way. You should be very proud of them.
I don't see this as brainwashing. We teach our kids to respect the adults around them, to bow their heads in prayer, to treat others as they would like to be treated. Just because they don't fully understand why these things are important doesn't mean they shouldn't participate.
I'm over 30 now, but as a teen and even earlier years during Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts we learned what respect for our country is. Sure, not a military group, but we would always stand for the raising and lowering of the flag. I still do if I'm near a place where it's going on.
When I hear people say they “run indoors” to avoid saluting colors, I try and understand really why one would do this. If you were in a dangerous situation where you would have died, but a person stood in front of you and willingly gave their life for you, what is your idea of saying “thank you?” Is it sending a card to the family? Is it attending the funeral to throw a rose? Is it lighting a candle once a year? What is your life really worth? Can you spend a few minutes a day to reflect that someone gave their life for you to enjoy your daily freedom and time with your family? That is what “To The Colors” and “Reveilee” or “Retreat” are. These are daily reminders and courtesies to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, for us. Maybe you can take a minute to reflect on this honor.
Thank you for sharing this. It is further evidence that we teach our children by example as much as we do by talking to them. You should be so proud of your children and their friends. They are indeed what makes America Great.
The bugle call heard in the video is called Retreat. at an Army post it is played just prior to the colors coming down at the end of the duty day (Retreat). there is normally a short pause, a couple seconds, and a defiant cannon is fired using a blank round signaling Retreat which at that time the bugle call To The Colors is played. Normally when Retreat is played everyone stops what they are doing if outside and face the garrison flag pole. People in vehicles pull over, stop and should exit their vehicles and also face the garrison flag pole, soldiers assume the position of parade rest. at the sound of the cannon, military personnel come to the position of attention and present arms and civilians should place their right hand over heart until To The Colors has finished playing and the flag is slowly lowered down and in the hands of the flag detail. At Reveille in the morning, the same thing happens except prior to Reveille (about 30 min prior) the first bugle call is First Call then a another cannon shot then Reveille is played and the flag is quickly ran up the flag pole. Taps is the last bugle call of the day and plays usually at 2200 in the evening. On old cavalry posts Like Ft Sam Houston Texas, there are several other bugle calls throughout the day that had other meanings back in the day but are now done in honor of Army tradition.

+P. Edward DiMarco My _"best shot"_ just so happened to nail you right in the bullseye. Now do yourself and your children a favor by doing your homework on the _Hitler youth_ and maybe you'll understand the huge chasm that exists between teaching a child to be _patriotic_ and in teaching a child to be a subservient snap to attention drone that knows nothing but how to be _obedient to the state_. Teach your children to think for themselves rather than trying to do that child's thinking for them. Again...good luck and be careful that your ego and butt-hurt self doesn't keep you from investigating and accepting the truth of the matter. Good luck.
+BloodTar They live on a USMC base. The entire base comes to a standstill at 5pm when the flag is lowered. Those in uniform stop, pull over, etc. and salute the flag. Civilians, dependents, etc. don't have to do anything but it's considered respectful to stop what you're doing if you're outside and wait until the bugle ends to continue. So, military wives will pull off to the side of the road, and kids will stop playing on the playground for the 30 seconds or so that the bugle plays. It's not brainwashing, and it's not Hitler youth. Respect for the flag has nothing to do with respect for the president, their office, or the government. It doesn't even have anything to do with respect for the military.
CylonBookworm _"it's considered respectful"_ No, actually it's considered sheepish, robotic, submissive and compliant. Not exactly the kind of traits I desire for my 3 children, that's for sure. Regardless of what ground that one is standing on they should be allowed to think for themselves and not be required to get in the goosestep with the rest of the herd lest they be shunned by the herd. Teach your children individuality and not herd mentality.
This made me cry man, I ain't even joking..God bless and protect our military, their families, and friends. ATTENTION:Sharpton, Reid, Obama and Biden! Shoot...congress and half the disrespectful Americans today...Learn something from this. Its called respect! My dad, some uncles, brother, and Grandpa are servicemen. My grandpa is deceased and he will be remembered as a great man and military affiliate. I'm not in the military but I am locally involved. God bless us all! Happy Memorial Day everyone! Never Forget
Mad respect for these kids! Semper Fidelis. Unlike the c-unt in the Army on Instagram that was proud to jump in her car so she would not have to salute the flag.
rabdpnguin that picture was my response to one of my children sending me a picture of him and his friends eating at inn-n-out burger in Vegas. I am not old yet.
Who thinks showing respect to the flag of the United States is stupid? Did you raise your right hand and serve for your country? I think those small children displayed more loyalty, respect, and disipline than most of the adults/teenagers that disagree with this video. Maybe you were not raised right! Maybe you wished you would've had the guts to serve/fight. Everyone who served in the U.S. Armed Forces has more right than you do! The children on this playground have more right than you do! While you sit and complain, Memorial Day is upon us. Show some damn respect! Rest in peace my Brothers and Sisters, you are not forgotten!
Eric Good, I could not have said it any better! I am an ex Air Force brat and ex wife of an SSGT in the Air Force, I have 2 nephew's who are Army servicemen, and my daughter's dad served in the Army plus she has a half sister who is a better from the Marines! All of the younger ones I mentioned did 1-3 tours in either Afghanistan or Iraq. My dad passed away a few years ago and Memorial Day has always held a special place in our hearts!
i'm in the air force... and i disagree with this sort of thing. i personally don't like when people pay respect in public like that, i don't like how others feel obligated to do it, and i don't think kids should do it at all. now don't get me wrong, i do recognize it as a kind gesture. I just don't think it should be expected for anyone to do especially when its on their own time.
I served 20 years in the military and don't feel I have more "right" than anyone else, whatever that even means? Did you mean more rights (as in Bill of Rights) or more right to have an opinion? Whatever you meant, I probably disagree with it. History has repeatedly shown that things never go well in a country when its military and those who control it start believing they have more rights and are more important than the people and ideals they supposedly defend.
One of my MOST proudest moments of being a human being. Semper Fi. And by the way parents, you did one hell of a job raising them to understand RESPECT for our country, our flag, our way of live. Many blessings to all. Captain T, U.S.M.C.
Some people mistake exercising your rights as being anti-American. I don't stand, salute, or say the words to the pledge of allegiance at the school I work at. Not because I'm "anti-American" as many would say, but because I don't believe anything in the pledge is accurate nor is this country striving to make it so. I also don't agree with having children mindlessly pledge their allegiance to anything. Mandatory patriotism isn't freedom. I'd rather show my thanks to the men and women that served this country by exercising the rights they fought for than to conform under peer pressure and bullies.
i dislike it cause kids should not have to worry about it especially when they have more important things to do like playing. their are specifically designated days to remember the dead, if you do it all the time the meaning is lost and it just becomes one of those every day activities that people feel obligated to do.
absolutely the most respectful thing I have seen... these kids have been raised well and I applaud their parents. well done and semper fi
One hundred percent. I'm not military and I wish I was. These kids or why I wish I had. So much respect.

They looked at each other and stood,
Not one had moved a muscle.
They wouldn't move even if they could,
Not one was in a hussle.
They stood as their hearts,
Sang to the music in despair,
As they let go of all their parts,
As if the music was their air.
Only they were the ones to stand,
As respect is now little to none,
While their souls became a hand,
When the song was almost done.
Reaching out to the ones who died,
As if they knew them as a friend,
The song started to hide,
When it came to be the end.
They stopped and waited a moment,
Then went on with their day,
These five children gave a hint,
That respect was still at bay.

Now those are manners.., these parents did a good job raising this kids...
Nuff' said. You can't win an argument with a stupid person.
well... thanks for the service...
☆☆☆☆☆
No. Thank you!
Thank you for your service!
They don’t have a choice. Mom or dads command will be called if they don’t. My command received a call after my child was caught riding a bicycle without a helmet.
Reminds me of when I was in high school overseas and when we were on base. I miss that.
You get it. Thank you! ❤️🇺🇸
Semper fi.. civilians will never understand that..
Great video
Love the children of our military men and women! AWESOME!!!!!
I grew up on military bases (Army brat). This was explained to me as the way we showed respect to those who were serving or had served our country, particularly those who had died for us. After that explanation, there was no need to force us to do anything.
The girl in the yellow dress yelling “colors!!” That’s a little warrior.
I'm a survivor of the war, and seeing this brings me joy. It's great to see kids respecting the Marine Corps :)
As a Canadian "Base Brat" I loved seeing this. I come from a 4th generation military family and have a lot of pride for my country as well.
I got tears in my eyes. God Bless our Military and their Families.
You can be very proud of those respectful children.
Yep, growing up an Air Force brat, that’s totally my brothers and I right there!
And I love the twirly jump the girl in yellow does at the end - yay! Back to play time! 😂
❤️🇺🇸❤️
Retreat Hell! We are advancing in the other direction.
fantastic to see kids being respectful in general, we don't see enough of this in the world today.
💜
Reminded me of growing up on the Air Force bases in the 70’s thru the 80’s
brought tears to my eyes..
each time i watched this....i really love how the one in blue tries to tighten up the line .
Got any family in Ohio who are doctors? My heart surgeon is Robert Gallegos, from New York originally, lives in Ohio now....
Oh no ma'am.
suerte carlos, que dios le cuida su seis
the little girl who does the jump and twist with a little kick is adorable!
More kids should be raised this way.
Thank you for posting this, Danielle Tomai Davila. Gives me goosebumps in an era where few people even stand when the colors pass in a parade.
Thank you for your kind supportive post. ❤️
These kids are raised right!! Semper Fi kids!!!
This is quite a site to see. Made me feel so good it brought a tear to my eye. Semper Fi!
If all of American's children were raised with this level of respect a lot of problems would go away.
Love it. Brings back memories from when I grew up on a military base. Many of the comments on this are saddening to say the least.
You're right. It's sad, but it's their right to feel the way they do however misguided or hateful it may be. Thank you.
Beautiful show of respect. Some "Americans" can learn a thing or two from these amazing kids. RESPECT
You have taught your kids right
I'm in the military and these kids show more respect to our flag than most adults do. praise these children they are being raised right!
as a military kid growing upwhen on camp pendleton we did the same thing.. I have much respect for the military. and this is awesome
I get warm and fuzzy feelings every time I watch this one. I LOVE IT!
you know what im a boyscout and i think that they are the coolest children ive ever seen
I also love how at the very moment "Carry On" is sounded, they are playing and bouncing around again.
That was my childhood growing up on Fort Bliss and Biggs Field in El Paso, TX. Great memories. Glad to see the kids still know what to do.
Very proud to see these kids react the way they did and their reaction on Military Bases is normal, though I do think it was rehearsed a little bit for the video, but their actions are normal on Base.
it's on a military installation so it's perfectly normal and we'll rehearsed since they've had to do it a lot before
The most beautiful RUclips video I have ever seen. Semper Fidelis, Little ones!!!!
Who ever is responsible for those kids, you did great!
that is awesome, reminds me of the video showing Robin Williams doing the same during one of his show.
So much respect from these little ones. Imagine adults showing respect like this. it would be a better place to live in.
Why? Why is this considered respect? I don't see it as respectful, just doing what is required on a military base ... respect is more than just what is required to be done.
Semper Fi ..........Great job moms and dads...God bless your military..
not a good mom when she sleeps with another man
@@ljrockets1522 sorry to hear about your life...
Even waited for "Carry on" bugle call! Wow!
Agree 110% with the comments below from John Fuentes. Danielle Tomei Davila, you and rest of the Marines and Marine families at New River should be very proud. This does give me hope for our future.
Thank you so much. We love our military family. ❤️
Thank you so much! Semper Fi!
+John Fuentes Agree with you 110%. Well said.
+John Fuentes So you believe that kids being brainwashed and conditioned into serving government/the state, is a good thing? You need to do your homework on the term *freedom* and see if it has anything to do with such a belief as yours. Good luck.
+Danielle Tomei Davila Is that latin for Simple Mind? Must be.
+BloodTar Have a good day.
kids respecting their fathers mothers of the armed service. much respect
Every time I hear evening colors it feels like my best friend is alive and we're a team again. It's kinda weird, but colors means that much to me. Carry on.
RIGHT THERE WITH YOU!!!!! 🇺🇸
Very respectful kids. All American !
The single most beautiful moments I’ve ever seen . Semper FI !
Oh and this is my kids curfew alarm. They know to be home within 10 minutes after Taps sounds.
It's called respect. These kids were brought up right! God bless America
Saddening this video has ANY dislikes... These people must have a red stripe running across their backs.
There is a stripe but it's not red, it's YELLOW!

You, like many others posting on this video, are a bunch of sorry ass simple-minded, military and government worshipping half-wits. Now go do your damn homework you ignorant, ill-informed and outright stupid-ass faktriot (fake patriot).
Not red...YELLOW
@@BloodTar and you are a p.o.s liberal that probably thinks Pelosi is serving the American people by wasting taxpayer money on a personal vendetta. I'll bet you whined and cried when the US actually got a decent president that Cared about US citizens(yes Mr. Donald Trump) instead of Illegal immigrants. Oh how angry you are that there are still Americans that care about America bet you just hate that don't you. Yeah I have seen your crap RUclips page with its Natural Selection blah blah blah...hopefully it chooses to select trash like you out of the gene pool
I honor these parents for teaching their children to respect our flag. Thank you so much.
Been retired from the Navy for over 26 years. Don't get to a base often, but when I do purposely stay till Colors.
Great video. Great respect. I lived all over the far east growing up. All on US military bases. As a kid I remember how annoying this was sometimes. As an adult, I am proud when I think back. This video reminded me of those days. It was a good memory. Great kids! USA!!! Thank you for sharing.
That makes me proud to be a US citizen!!!!!!
Wonderful! Proud of them & their parents for teaching them respect. Just spent 2 weeks visiting my son & family who live on NAS Pensacola & it was a joy to watch my 4 & 6 YO grandsons standing at attention & saluting during morning & evening colors. I stood right with them :)
That moment when a video from 2011 blows up
imagine how i feel lol thats me in the pink! 😂
Well, I doubt anyone would just notice you from this
well obviously i mean the ones that know in our family and friends who tag us in every one that posts it
This brought a tear of joy to my eye :) Thank you :)!!!!
Thank you so much!
I am an Army brat and this is how we were raised. Respect is all too lacking these days. It's good to see it still exists.
Those 5 kids show we may have hope in Americans youth.
When I hear people say they “run indoors” to avoid saluting colors, I try and understand really why one would do this.
If you were in a dangerous situation where you would have died, but a person stood in front of you and willingly gave their life for you, what is your idea of saying “thank you?”
Is it sending a card to the family?
I remember this well. Not all the bases we lived on did this. But as an adult now I wish they would have.
Awesome kids! And I love how they go back to playing as soon as it ended. Gotta love 'em!
May God bless them all and keep them safe!!! Semper Fi ...
+P. Edward DiMarco Is that Latin for Simple Mind? Must be.
+BloodTar ... dude, are you off your meds again??? Well OK then ... first, your semi-coherent rant certainly hasn’t improved my opinion of your conversation skills. And you’re still behaving like a churlish, ignorant, attention-seeking, pathetic little-troll. Hey, +BloodTar ... “Andare a farsi fottere!!!” Oh yeah ... “Tu sei un pezzo di stronzo!!!” You do not even have the courage to list your real name ... you are a gutless-coward and a spineless coelenterate who is incapable of carrying the jock-straps of true American Heroes!!! Your hate-filled screed is indicative of a sexist, intolerant, xenophobic, homophobic, islamophobic, racist bigot who desperately needs some diversity re-education! But, at least you had the decency to provide us with your affirmative defense (“Invincible Ignorance”) as you engage in a typical Socialist-Atheist-Liberal-Leftist-Statist mix of delusional projection, transference, and displacement. No sense in being polite I suppose. You admit to being an indolent lout and a wretched person in general ... but hey, here’s a smiley for you!!! :) Tell ya’ what there +BloodTar, I’m going to brew myself an extra strong cup of Espresso. While I am doing thus, how about you and your “Statist-Elitist” ilk kvetch amongst yourselves the endless possibilities of your “Invincible Ignorance.” Go ahead and take your time, I’m in no hurry. Oops, almost forgot ... have a nice day ya’ frackin’ mook with shit-for-brains!!!
CylonBookworm _"it's considered respectful"_
No, actually it's considered sheepish, robotic, submissive and compliant.
Amazingly wonderful.
NICE!!!!! just hearing Colors again gave me goosebumps... I LOVE THIS!!!!
Mad respect for these kids! Semper Fidelis. Unlike the c-unt in the Army on Instagram that was proud to jump in her car so she would not have to salute the flag.
That little girl in yellow is on it! Great job to these kids and to the parents who have taught them respect. OOH RAH!
this is the real hope and change that will save this country.
You said it, old guy on the internet who is flipping me off. I couldn't agree more.
rabdpnguin that picture was my response to one of my children sending me a picture of him and his friends eating at inn-n-out burger in Vegas. I am not old yet.
Love this so much. Thank you for posting it.
The last time people raised their right hands (arms) in my country, that didn't go over too well. It's why this makes me very uncomfortable tbh.
i'm in the air force... and i disagree with this sort of thing. i personally don't like when people pay respect in public like that, i don't like how others feel obligated to do it, and i don't think kids should do it at all. now don't get me wrong, i do recognize it as a kind gesture.
Imperialistic wars are nothing to be proud of.
One of my MOST proudest moments of being a human being. Semper Fi. And by the way parents, you did one hell of a job raising them to understand RESPECT for our country, our flag, our way of live. Many blessings to all. Captain T, U.S.M.C.
The 143 dislikes are from Westboro Baptist church. Just ignore them.
You'd be surprised how many anti-American people there are that are not with the WBC. Thanks for being kind. :-)
Actually I disliked it due to the brainwashing nature of the act the children have been subjected to in the name of patriotism.
+ArcaneSky my kid, one day will save you kids life...unless you already killed yours.
i dislike it cause kids should not have to worry about it especially when they have more important things to do like playing. their are specifically designated days to remember the dead, if you do it all the time the meaning is lost and it just becomes one of those every day activities that people feel obligated to do.
Beautiful. Unforgettable. I wish you kids great things.
