- We've looked inside, we've looked outside, we've looked underneath. We've gone over this car with a fine-tooth comb and cannot find a single flaw or sign of wear. It's for all intents and purposes this 2000 mile Ferrari 550 Maranello in stunning Black/Black spec is flawless. Check it out!
These cars 550/575 remind of Bad Boys 2. Such a stunning gentleman drivers car. You show up in style anytime with this.
Fun fact in that movie they used both cars. The actions shots are a 550 and non action shots were a 575.
@@mitch9894 also another fun fact the engine note is not from either it is an F355 dubbed over.
@@elliottcaras3281 That’s right forgot about that!
@@mitch9894 true haha, you can see in the movie!
I’m sometimes forced to wear the sweaters my grandmother makes too.
John Temerian probably spent more on that sweater than you make in a week
@@duanet85 That is not a good thing.
@@pokedon92 I'm just saying I think he's doing alright. He doesn't care about what someone things about his expensive sweater.
I literally cannot stop laughing at this... hahahaha
@@WeAreCurated late comment... but excellent response never take your self to serious
What a beauty. The 550 is the quintessential Italian muscle car.
Great video your channel deserves so much more subs, The 550 really has grown on me also see 360 shooting up in price this was truly a great era off Ferraris
I've wanted one of these ever since my cousin let me drive his brand new 2001 up at an Aston Martin club meet at Lime Rock park. It was Blue with Tan interior like the one in your video. Magnifique! I drove that car to dinner one night about 5 miles each way and it was heaven to me. It felt like a jet with unending torque as you mentioned. I'm still looking for one. If you follow Jayemm on cars he just bought one, a high mileage one for under 100K. It looked like a new car too for the mileage it had. He went through a description of service work he had done at the local Ferrari dealer outside of London and they quoted very reasonable prices for the 5 year, suggested replacement parts, and generally made it seem like a pretty easy way to own a classic Ferrari. I still love this look 20 years later and like you I appreciate the 365GTB lineage carried on into the modern age. I would like to be able to buy this one from you. I'll have to mortgage the house when the wife isn't looking!
That gated shifter is art.
Ugh 🤤... I should've automatically known it was a gated manual too. Curated (John) has such good taste in cars. The gated manual makes the 550s and 575s. I honestly wouldn't even want or care about the car if it had an "F1" (auto) transmission. The N/A V12 up front is glorious too. Pure class in a true legendary GT car 👏 Like a modern Ferrari Daytona
So happy I subbed to this channel just from hearing him tell stories about his grandfather and father. What a great guy.
I love hearing your thoughts on all these cars. I just wish you would show me the car some more. Lol
Curated has quickly become my favourite automotive youtube channel. Can't believe it doesn't have at least 500k subs!
Thank you for the kind words
I've always loved the Maranello, and I'll never get tired of hearing that gated shifter.
Man.... I remember the days when you could get these on the used market for 60K all day every day........Epic car!
Didn't get the credit it deserved at the time , an absolute Ferrari masterpiece :)
They are the best modern classic! It maybe a GT but its as agile as a sports car with the added benefit of getting to your further off destination feeling less worked over! The parts can be expensive, but it’s worth it. My belt change last summer from my Ferrari mechanic align with cam seals was 3000 so not crazy. They definitely need an aftermarket exhaust to sound like you would expect them too, but so do most frankly.
The manual transmission is its 2nd best quality, following the amazing engine. Has to be experienced on European mountain roads!
They are tapping on the door to electronic driver aids while still being as pure and analog as most people want. That makes them sometimes finicky when it comes to those gauges showing what they should, so you just have to accept that.
With that kind of mileage on that example, that’s a definite, amazing investment. Lots of fantastic years of ownership are ahead for the next owner! Good review!
And you’re right John. Someone’s had the torch/flashlight away from the leather pack!
90’ Ferrari’s are underestimated and undervalued imo😍
Man there is just no way your sub count should be so low!! These vids are GREAT
Awesome sweater!!! What a car. Perfection
Beautiful example... looks even better with RUclips on my 62 inch tv👍
Still my absolute favorite Ferrari design
Very beautiful to look at, really love how the design flows.
Cars made around year 2000 are perfect cars! They have most of comfort creatures you need without all of those safety features like ACC etc.
the first decade of this century will be known as the golden years for automobiles.
Great channel! Every do any work/deals with Wayne Carini? I know you’re originally from Connecticut or western Ma if my memory serves me.
Beautiful car!!
550/575 still top favs of all Ferraris
To me, this is the quintessential Ferrari. Manual, front engine V12, rear wheel drive. Beautiful example!
Been one of my Dream cars since I was a teenager. 💚from Minnesota
I love your videos. Also, i missed schitts creek and it’s cool to see what david rose is up to after the show. You should bring patrick on if you guys are still together.
Thanks for the amazing content John!
One of my favorite Ferraris. Love the Daytona seats.
I drove a 550 once, shortly after driving a 1996 Nissan 300ZX twin turbo. I was gravely disappointed to discover how similar they felt to one another. As a fan of older Ferraris (on the same day I drove a 250SWB, 330GTC, 275 GTB and 365 GTB/4), I was hoping the 550 would feel like a more modern version of those other cars. Instead it felt like a Japanese car, complete with ‘bong, bong, bong’ when I opened the door with the key in the ignition. It was sanitized, homogenized, and while it was unquestionably an excellent car, and objectively superior to the others in every measurable way, it left me feeling cold.
That was almost 20 years ago. Now in retrospect, I think I would really enjoy having one, certainly far more than their current or recent offerings. I think it really is the perfect blend of modern and vintage.
Whow !! That Maranello is a real stunner!!! Very Cool!!
I have a manual 599 which l adore and probably drive it too much but l do miss my 550. Before that l had a string of V-8 Ferraris but the 550 was a real.....car! Get in it and drive a thousand miles in relative comfort, luggage space and k didn't get all the stupid questions at the gas pump like l did with the. 360. Occasionally someone would ask me how l liked my Corvette lol!
You have a manual 599 GTB? I call BS. Didn't they only make like 10 of those and only the first model year?
We have same exact favorite Ferrari’s 275gtb4 and 550m
I'm still looking for my dream Ferrari!!!! 575 Maranello, gated manual, modular wheels, grey over red. I would take it over an Enzo or Laferrari any day!!!!!!
The gray/silver is by far the best color for this particular car. Id love to find one for this spring/summer. I've wanted one but I won't take it in any other color. The same color as in "the family man" and "bad boys 2".
It's a nice car, but I can't help but think "what a waste" with such few miles. Drive your cars people, they are meant to be enjoyed!
I agree ,the work that's gone into the design ,manufacturing and testing of that car for it to sit in a garage somewhere ,it makes me sad.
Car's are there to be driven and enjoyed.
I completely agree. Let’s shut down all of the museums too. We can empty all of the aquariums and zoo’s as well. What once started as the hobby of collecting and preserving for the mere appreciation and study of life itself seems to be way overrated. Truly. This way we can chastise people for having what we want and cannot have and our future generations will grow up with no intrinsic concept of the past. Bravo.
@@kicks-n-kerosene well that was an over reaction and taken completely out of context.
I'm luck that I can afford sports car and have owned several.
Zoo are there for the very opposite of your post, zoo breed and release animals back into the wild, mainly because human actions have destroyed them or their habitats.
Car are there to be driven,if you drive it or not it's still there.
@@gedd6750 I appreciate the humorous banter. I pose this question. You have a 1 of 1 car. You drive it and enjoy it, which is your right, but through human actions it is destroyed. Would you be upset? The thought that someone would be saddened by another’s passion and dedication to the preservation of something is and of itself saddening.
Cars are meant to be driven!
Its all about the sweater for me
My 996 has the same radio. Becker must have supplied radios to everyone back then
I love the shape of this car. I remember when I first moved to LA and got a job as an entertainment Agent assistant I got to meet the owner who had a black 550 with blood red leather interior. I loved just driving past that car in the lot. I know the manuals are worth bucko bucks now. The 575M was cool for its wheels but the lights were ugly.
It's a stunning example, black on black with very few miles on the clock, I've driven a couple of them & I really like them, but if I was shopping for one I'd have to find a non red one with a caramel cabin, Daytona seats, Rj in Oz
Flexin' kinda fresh wit those kicks john!!(i was thumb#100)
I have always loved this model.
So what do u do if parts are hard to find do you find an alternative?
Love that model front engine Ferrari's have gotten my attention alot more lately. Woulda liked to see a better look at it why no montage ? Kinda feel left hanging when the vid ended .
Stunning John!
My favorite Ferrari
Doesn’t Ferrari Classica still produce OEM parts for the 550? I would think they would support all of their old popular models like Mercedes, Lamborghini and many others
the trouble with an investment type ferrari, especially if the investment quality is primarily based on low mileage, is that it will cost you tens of thousands of dollars every time you put a thousand miles on the odometer. and most won't find THAT much enjoyment in driving it at that cost per mile driven.
5 stars on your 80s sweater.
With the caliber of cars, you would think they would only be driven on routes with right turns only to minimize risk.
Lovely car, but at such low mileage, will this be driven or kept and preserved? I feel like there has to be a definite choice done with these low mileage cars
My Grannie wants her sweater back.
Been there done that - money pit in the making 2800miles means all sorts of issues will soon happen. Seals, tyres, tie rods, ball joints, bushes etc. All go in double time on a car that has been stood for most of its life. Okay for a collector but otherwise a nightmare waiting to happen
There’s one with the same amount of miles in silver with black interior here in Belgium.
Absolutely beautiful
John? What do you think of what @samcrac and @ratarossa restoration shortcuts ?
2nd favorite Ferrari behind the 288 gto
This is the Ferrari I want to get, if not I'll settle for a Viper GTS from the same era. 😌
You dont buy a Thoroughbred horse to just go to the stable and look at it. You race it you feed it and you enjoy it. While this is nice that it has been very well preserved there was no need to preserve this.
I can't decide about if the F355 B. Or this one is the best looking looking late 90's Ferrari
Is This car still availsble?
Sounds like you should keep it for your personal collection
Is there a big difference between the 550 and the 575 in terms of driving and overall feeling? I've always loved this body style of Ferrari. I know a lot of the younger generation wants more of the rear engine, wider looking sporty cars but I love the way this one looks with the long front and overall classic Ferrari style like you've mentioned.
The 550 was spot on, such a fantastic car! They ruined it with the 575. Terrible ride and suspension, crap gearbox (manual’s are super rare) and was nowhere near as good as a grand tourer, sadly
@@MrBlackenzo Yeah I’ve never driven neither but that’s the common theme is that they ruined the 550 with the 575 even the 575M.
It's so tight and it smells new
my all time favorite..
Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do?
We have one in the family garage with 800 miles on it.
If I had to drive one car for the rest of my life and the choices were this 550 or a SF90, Id go 550 all the way.
Great car
How this channel hasn’t surpassed a million subscribers is beyond me.
Loads ov reasons 1 intro is wayyyyyyy to long
Before the video gets to the nitty gritty. I remember 550’s where $60k-$100k same price as a 360 coupe/spider now a days. Good luck getting one now 😂😂😂
And no shields I’ll pass.
Very nice !!
That is exactly the same way I would option one. I grow tired of seeing the majority of F cars red with tan interior.
The modern Daytona.
Picked up a major problem right away even tho it appears perfect.
It's in wrong hand drive.
Otherwise it would be mine ;)
Is the 550 a better investment than a 575?
575 in 6 speed, super rare
Not sure what’s worse the sweater or the man bun
Gorgeousss
That poor guy. Don't worry, one of these days he'll be able to afford a nice shirt and jeans without holes in them. Just hang in there, buddy. It'll all get better.
You can just tell this guys ego is off the charts 🤣🤣
I know it goes against the DNA of the 550 as a GT car but I love when they are optioned with the carbon race seats.
Ferrari's are nice 👌
Please be careful!!!
John, why no gloves? Pandemic or not, you ought to have some nice cotton gloves to be able to go through a car top to bottom without leaving any of you behind.
I would never buy a car from a dude with a gold watch and a bun.
all that money thay u won‘t spendd over servicing you‘ll spend on gas, given that it does 7 mpg
Someone send this to Richard “the hamster” Hammond ... he needs to make a offer on this
Please subtitles in Spanish
Too bad about the color. Black isn’t flattering for any car;(
My favorite car ever. And the classless presenter in skinny jeans with ponytail and bitc# t&ts calls it "Marinello"...
Man, too bad it was black on black though
"it's in perfect shape"blah blah... it's only 2800 miles,dude, what's so surprising?
BTW...how old r u to dress like that?
its what the ladies want.
@@gibememoni then he should let the ladies dress like that !!! 😂😂😂
Wow and u Drive it ? Lmfao
Loose the bun 🤦🏻♂️
I cringe when people get in and out of stuff like this with jeans.
Nowhere near nicest 550 on earth, ha. Good condition yes. Spec, lame as fuck.
