Hey! You have to do what’s right for you. Pray about it do your Research and at the end of the day you do you. May God bless you and May you get those miles. South Carolina follows you. ❤
Thanks for the videos, you’ve considered the pros and cons and that’s good and lease does sound good, if you have a company and lease through it then that’s an expense against tax as well as breakdown repairs I would have thought. A good company I think, training and lease too.
Smart thinking and I guess the tnt phase is long enough but it’s NOT solo. Your are going to make little hopefully not big mistakes when just staring out driving solo completely by yourself. Don’t do it in your lease truck do them with the company truck. Maybe 3 months solo or 6 months solo. Trust me they go fast when your solo company because they going to keep you moving even more than a lease driver.
What’s up Jim 😃💪🏾 I do consider the payments, I will make sure it’s financially smart to take breaks. And I think a 6 months lease suits me for a start. I am still considering company but lease kinda favor my situation.
Ive been with prime for 35days bringing home after all deductions 1700-2100 weekly I fell into the hole because a customer wouldn’t let me check trailer then loaded to much and I have to return with it I got payed but the wait time and travel put me a little late on the cutoff made literally nothing that week. Learned my lesson and I’ve set up a e fund. I’ve used your videos to determine if I should join and it been great.
What’s up Quinton, yeah sometime stuff happens and we just have to learn from it. I am happy my videos were able to help you. Keep on learning from the mistakes you are making 💪🏾
In PSD initially planned lease , people are trying to talk me into company since coming here , but i agree with you , lease is not for everyone, i want to be out on the road most of my time and like you i can manage a couple of bad weeks 👍🏽 let us know when you’re in springfield
Do what your gut is telling you to do and of course do your research. Sometimes people can project their fear onto you. If they can’t do it, they think you can’t do it😂. My trainer is saying we might go to Springfield second week of next month.
I think if I were making that decision I would think carefully. I spoke about running a business in the past. It's not easy, you wear all hats, except some aspects of dispatch and some aspects of maintenance with Prime. Prime helps you in some other areas also, granted. Filing taxes is on you. Lease truck can breakdown (semis LOVE to breakdown), it can snow behind that breakdown if you are in the winter season, what if you get sick... Now you are out a week possibly two. No matter what, truck payment will be DUE. The money promise lures you in. The company brass will be SO NICE explaining it to you I'm sure. My thought is six months to a year of hard company driving and living in the truck, stacking every dime, you can work a lot of things from there. My last thought is the company controls your dispatch and thus your money. I do NOT like that arrangement when I am paying an inflated $1.1k a week for a truck. Good luck brother.
Maybe you should do lease purchase if you don’t like the idea of giving prime $1.1k a week. Maybe give them that money to own the truck in a few years. Like I said consider it saving to buy a truck. No company personnel explain it to me, further more at orientation the prime inc official recommends going company to learn the game first. I have done my research and I see where I can make a different approach from who ever failed. I am still not %100 going lease as yet but my research is looking towards leasing as we speak. 😃💪🏾
The same energy and time I have for company I can have for lease. I still like company, but I think I will be wasting time doing it, even though it’s safer. 🤔
You have the right mindset. I did a 2.5 year lease at Prime and me and my girl stayed at multiple months at a time. All 7 and 9months Rasta. Stacked the money and then did a lease purchase and paid it off in 2021. You staying out 6 months or more at a time doesn’t make sense company
That’s what I am talking about💪🏾😃. Stewpeez you’re right , it’s all about mindset. I plan to stay out on the road for very long periods and company doesn’t make sense. You basically did what I planned on doing. Also I am single right now, but if I should date a girl I would love if she could be out there on the road with me driving. You basically paved the way Rasta, I respect that.
Damm that was fast 😂😂 good luck out there fam. I gave some good points in my earlier tnt videos, give them a watch and get ahead of the game. Good luck to you out there. 50k miles leeetts goooooo😂💪🏾
Bro if it’s a walk away lease it’s good .. when I start lease after 2 months meet in accidents.. and everything get fuxk.. got to look on what if something happen
Atleast you tried. Was the accident that bad you couldn’t fix the truck? Did you have money put aside? Was the accident your fault and are you getting insurance money to get the truck sorted out?
I am happy everyone is giving me their honest opinion on whether I should go company or lease. Company is the safest way to go and I understand that. Going lease can be a risk, but the reward is high. Maybe I need to have patience or maybe I have a good little strategy I can use to make lease worthwhile. I won’t be the first to go lease and be successful. Not everyone who goes lease fail. I also seen why people fail and I am willing to not make those same mistakes based on my research. An accident is the only thing that can mess things up and that’s the only risk I could think of. But like I said I am not fully 100% lease as yet. But lease is something I am not scared to enter into.
I am Going lease then lease purchase afterwards. It make sense to me. Prime can do whatever they want, as long as I get the opportunity to make the money thats is there to be made, and proven to be made. I just have to give it a try because I’ve seen people done it before and I also see people fail. But the good thing is I study both who fail and succeed at it. I’ve been researching this piece of opportunity prime offers for quite sometime now, and still researching it.
That just it you won't see money you can try maybe it just my fleet manager but it been very bad this is my last year here I'm getting paid less then a trainee here but if it work well for you good luck I'll see your journey
Think and treat it like a business and it will serve you well... Lease purchase a truck... first three years you focus on paying off the truck.. once paid off you will add that monthly payment to your bottom line for next 4 years ... Since prime changes its trucks every 7 years ... sell your truck and buy a new one ... hope fully by then you will have two three or more trucks 🚚 🙂!!
@@mosesgideon1115 but it has been done before by many other prime drivers. Why not see yourself as being one of those who do it? First you have to have the right mentality and the right plan. It won’t be easy, but it’s not impossible. 😃💪🏾
If you planning to be out there for six months lease it's the way to go make sure you set your business as S Corp so you can get the tax benefits brother.
lol I understand what you are saying. But I do the videos when I am not working. In truck driving you are allowed to only drive 11 hours a day within a 14 hours work period. So I have about 10 extra hours when I am not working to make a video. Also sometimes I will make video if I am sitting around waiting for a load. My videos are only 10mins yes so if once a week I can use 10 minutes to make a video, I don’t think that’s taking up my work hours.
Think about how much 1400 a week is for 3 years and not to mention fuel cost/ breakdowns, maintenance. You will overpay 3xs over and probably still not own that truck. Worst investment ever. Look how much trucks going for then you do the math if it’s a good deal just to be able to turn loads down, that you can’t afford in the end. I have yet to see a prime driver/ nor any lease drivers owning a truck and has bought 2- 3 more truck hired employees and wealthy. It just doesn’t exist..
$1400 a week is after fuel and all other expenses. Plus a lot of guys make more than $1400 a week. Some weeks you might walk away with $700 check but the other week you might walk away with a $4000 check, and I am talking NET. I didn’t lay out in this video parts of my plan when I go lease but there’s more to this video than what I said in it. This is not fully my plan in this video. I held back the secret sauces🤫😂💪🏾 also I’ve seen guys at prime who own their truck and have more they are paying to own, plus they have drivers in them

The biggest mistake I see is that you think you know, but in reality, you don't. You don't know how it's going to play out for you personally. Also, hopefully, you get a good truck with a warranty because fixing breakdowns can eat up your entire savings and more. One more thing, it's a walkway lease for a reason. There is a high possibility of failure, it doesn't matter if you stay on the road all year, if the load isn't paying well or if you're not getting enough, you will fail. Now, I'll say go for it. Six months is enough time to figure out if it's for you or not. The most important thing I've personally learned is that it doesn't matter if you lease or have your own authority. Whether you work for a company or a load board, you are still a company driver just with more perks. Anyone can get an LLC and call themselves a business owner, but if you don't have any direct customers, you are not a business owner.
Thank you guys for giving me all the different perspectives on the lease operator situation. I am looking into all you guys advice and making mental notes. I still have about two months before I decide company or lease. I am looking to go lease but I am not 100% sure as yet. Thanks for you input 😃💪🏾
Everything that glitters isn't Gold. You lease you lose. At the end of the day, that company driver will be making way more money than you being a lease driver. You've been warned.
I see my trainer’s numbers once in a while for training purposes, and I am aware his revenue is not based on solo driving. I also know guys who are solo drivers and their numbers are decent. Maybe the numbers won’t make you rich over night but it’s good enough for me at the moment. Are you saying there are no solo lease drivers at prime that are making money?
I seriously doubt it. The market is trash fuel is high. Tell them to show you the net checks. After lease drivers pay taxes, you'll see that they are running for free. All checks look good before taxes. Only flatbed drivers are making money right now. And that's a fact. Always remember "It's not what you say, It's what you can prove."
Next year I might still not get the loads😂. I thing a 6 months lease is worth the risk, being that I want to live in my truck for the whole 6 months without any expenses or girlfriend at home🤔 but I am still thinking company though 😂
My strong advice would be to go with company for a year then move to lease once you have experience. Yes lease is very eye opening, everyone is going to tell you that you’re going to make money money money. But they don’t tell you breakdowns, accidents, etc. You have all the time in the world to make the decision.
Unless my truck break down within the first 2 months or an accident etc, I don’t see why I should not go lease. The first money I earn, I will put aside for my emergency fund which is a great sum of money. Then anytime I dip into my emergency fund , my first aim is to get my emergency fund back to the preferred amount. I will not put money in savings unless my Emergency fund is at its preferred amount. I will also pay myself a wage each week. I will pay myself a little less than what I am making now in tnt training. My emergency fund may be 15k or more, who knows. I understand what you’re saying though.
@@RomaneTheTrucker Trust me, I completely understand where you’re coming from. But there is a reason Prime kind of steers its students toward lease over company. They are automatically entitled to 28% of the load with absolutely zero risk. The nice thing about the program is that you can change from company to lease at any time. My thoughts are to garner more knowledge about the parts and what each part does on the truck and learn how normal wear and tear is so that you know what you should be looking for down the road. Any business model shouldn’t start at $0. You should start with savings in your account before opening business. I’ve physically seen people who simply had one breakdown after another put them into a hole because they made a quick decision to lease without thinking about it. I wish you the best of luck. Don’t make a rash decision. Seriously talk to people on both sides of the aisle.
I get what you’re saying and ofcourse it’s a risk starting out doing lease. But if my first aim is to secure a proper emergency fund, what ever wants to wear and tear after that, I can cover it. Prime actually told us to go company for at least a year before going lease. I can remember clearly in orientation I was told by the prime Inc official to go company. If I am as blind as a bat, if I have emergency fund set aside, let what ever wants to tear on the truck, let it tear there’s funds fund aside for it. Also what if I run 4 months straight without any wear and tear issues? Business is a risk and even if I start off in the hole, it’s not as bad as most business that takes years to see profit. I am sure you heard before business takes years to make a solid profit. If I can start a business and it takes 1-2 months to see profit, count me in. But if all goes well and no early wear and tear, I might start seeing profit within 2 weeks, even though I will stash that money as emergency fund. I understand you are looking out for my best interest and don’t want to see me fail and I truly appreciate that Junior trucker. 😃💪🏾
I may have a much better opportunity for you. Have YOU researched.... do you know there is $10,000 negligence fee if you do something stupid... hit a bridge... jack knife etc. Or that the cargo insurance only covers accidents... so a new driver who has a hard brake and damages the load... that $100,000 load comes out of your pocket. I can offer better
That could be possible as well. I am still not 100% going lease, I am in a good position to do so for a 6 months lease. But I still have about two months to finally decide.
😂😂 I am just doing some critical thinking that’s all. 😂😂 I still have time to keep thinking about it, but like I said I am 60/40 towards leasing. Maybe tomorrow I am 70/30 in favor of lease 💪🏾

I need to send you my fork pick
I seen you used the fork pick the other day on your live, I said to myself, you’re a real solider 😂💪🏾
We used to call them Cake Cutters 😂

@@RomaneTheTrucker You never heard that, we also used to have the picks soul picks with the folding red and green handles.
@goodymob9638 I'm 55. I had cake cutters and the puck with the fist
Your new at trucking do yourself a favor do company first learn more then if you want do lease iam a 32 year veteran don't buy your job
Everything that glitters isn't Gold. You lease you lose. At the end of the day, that company driver will be making way more money than you being a lease driver. You've been warned.
😂😂😂 so you are saying no lease drivers are making money at prime?
@@RomaneTheTrucker I'm saying lease driver as a whole aren't making money. Don't trust your trainer numbers. You guys are running as a team right now.
@@acupofjoetrucker255They never learn until they get screwed over. He think that people are just splurging and mess up their lease
Yoo does prime only do pee test for drug test ?
Yes
It sounds good, if you're not getting the loads then what, wait till next year, you still a rookie
Next year I might still not get the loads😂. I thing a 6 months lease is worth the risk, being that I want to live in my truck for the whole 6 months without any expenses or girlfriend at home🤔 but I am still thinking company though 😂
10.4👍🏿
Go company first
A lot of people say that, company is not a bad idea. But we’ll see what happened 😃😃
@@RomaneTheTrucker i was at prime 6 years 1 company 5 lease with my fiance
@@Thee_eric_lamar that’s awesome 💪🏾
I am aware now 😂💪🏾
600 is not getting paid like a employee
Well I am paying myself that. I do not need more than $600 a week living on the road. Maybe I even pay myself less 😂💪🏾
No,stay company
That could be possible as well. I am still not 100% going lease, I am in a good position to do so for a 6 months lease. But I still have about two months to finally decide.
better then Uber !!
Way better than Uber 😂😂
You are going too fast bro , relax
😂😂 I am just doing some critical thinking that’s all. 😂😂 I still have time to keep thinking about it, but like I said I am 60/40 towards leasing. Maybe tomorrow I am 70/30 in favor of lease 💪🏾
Hey Romane😂 what's up bro
