I grew up ten mins away from the original Kenner factory in cin Ohio . The boy across the street's mother worked there she would bring home out of box figs and play sets before they were in stores. I wonder if we were being used as some kind of focus group?
I remember my friend had the twelve inch of Luke, I remember he use to take his head off and put it on the 3 inch Luke, it use to leave me in stitches :)
They do... The Sequel trilogy has 12 inch figures from Hasbro. Only 5 points of articulation but if you are looking for cheap troop builders its you best option. I picked up most of the Rogue One line, its NOT Hottoys but better then Forces of Destiny. I'm hoping Mandalorian will get a line. Sadly with the Cara Dune situation even products that were in production are on hold. (Serious over kill for a minor offence)
The Darth Vader sculpt of this vintage line is one of my favorites. While not perfect with screen accuracy, it was a lot closer than the smaller action figure.
I have C3PO & need R2. I have a stormtrooper with no blaster & a gloppy glued on hand. I have Chewy (from childhood) with no accessories. The IG88 I hear is the most rare. If I won the lottery I still would not spend that much Jack on those figures. As a kid I had Darth Vader and Boba Fett. I absolutely loved them! I bet mom and dad never parted with that much for these guys!
A friend of mine found a Storm Trooper at a Jumble sale in the 80s and we ended up throwing him on the roof of his house..... ans he’s probably still up there.

I never liked this line. I wouldn't even want the Stormtrooper. For me it's pretty much just the best of a bad bunch. I'm afraid I only have room for 3.75" here!
Oh yes, I understand totally. I'm just the same when it comes to childhood memories. The only one I would maybe have is possibly the most difficult to get... IG-88, as I am a massive fan of the original regular figures. Not worth $2200 though. Plus I'd have to smash the box open!!!!

I much prefer the 12 inch star wars figures by gentle giant, probably because they are the vintage star wars figures I grew up with but upscale.

It was the same with the three and three quarter inch line, Boba Fett was released in Star Wars packaging as a preview to ESB.
