Me too strangely enough since I'm usually on the receiving end of hilarious comments involving halloween and funerals. Witch, vampire or evil queen would be all I could drum up from my wardrobe. Maybe vampire leopard at a push
I think your Halloween costume idea is great! What would make it epic is if you did it as Fiona, and started the party off as regular pretty Kelsey, and then sometime during the party you sneak away and do the ogre transformation! It would be a super sick reveal that no one would see coming!
Impressed with the costumes and even more impressed at how Kelsey can organize and fit such an epic wardrobe in a tiny space. I need to learn this skill! Sorry girls video? Tiny space organization hacks?
I haven’t ever really dressed up for Halloween nor do I plan to anytime soon, yet even I can recognize that this video is gold, as well as the whole freaking library y’all have on this channel.
HALLOWEEN!!! ...okay, now that I've gotten that out of my system, I love the idea of using items you already have to make costumes. I wanted to do a Medusa costume, but had basically $0, so I took some old stained sheets from my college twin bed, cut them to be the length I wanted, and put them together in the style of a traditional Greek chiton toga. I three-strand-braided myself a belt out of some dollar store jute twine, slapped some painted toy snakes on a headband, and BOOM- instant snake lady! I've even zhuzhed her up over the years to make the headband better and the bed sheets more ragged (my Medusa is less elegant and more a woman who's going through it). Anyway, great video!!
omg i love shrek in the sky, you should totally do green face paint!! i like looking at drag queens (like juno birch) to see how they add dimension and ✨glam to all over face paint that can sometimes be very costumey (even if obvi it's a costume lol)
LOVE the creativity and repurposing. The witch's hat was the bomb. I've had to make some costumes on the fly (traveling and unexpected invitation to a party), and desperation bred inspiration. Each was unique and turned out well. Slim black pants and turtleneck make a great starting point.
love the idea of using the items you already own instead of buying cheap mass-produced costumes! last year I managed to thrift a black feather piece that immediately gave me the idea how to make Yennefer (from Witcher games) costume using items I already have. The only other thing I had to buy was black hairdye and purple contacts... but then again, prolly not everyone owns black leather overknee boots, a corset belt and some medieval-looking tunics as casual wardrobe 😅as well as some pentagram pendants and amethyst crystals for decor
I actually designed a Lord Farquad costume once when I did costumes for a high school play and I actually made fake little legs that reached the floor when he kneeled, and he wore all black pants and a black cape to hide his real legs. You could use thrifted child pants and connect/duct tape little boots and just stuff them with newspaper or filler to make it quick and easy. A large circle cut from black anything makes an easy cape…cut a slit halfway and make a small inner circle for the neck- attach something to enable tying it on. Then attach the little pants around his waist. 😂 You as sexy Shrek/ Shrek in the sky and him as Lord Farquad sounds great. But personally I really dislike wearing full face makeup. What if you were Princess Fiona when she is in human form? Not as edgy, but you don’t have to wear uncomfortable green makeup all over your face. Or, you could finagle a Shrek face mask, to take on and off and avoid face paint!
Great ideas! Love not being so wasteful on this holiday especially. Be careful to test green face makeup in an inconspicuous spot (and leave it on for several hours) to make sure it comes off! You don't want to be a Halloween fail when you show up to your life after the party with your face stained green. ;)
kelsey this was AMAZING i feel like most halloween costume vids at this point are just repeating each other and there’s nothing new but i got so much inspo from this thank you :)) and absolutely pls do shrek in the sky, now that you’ve said it you’ll be held accountable if you don’t
GROUP COSTUME IDEAD! I can't remember where I saw it online, but a group of girls wearing ball gowns/prom type dresses and each had different animal ears/antlers and they were "party animals" 😅🥳 So cute!
The last halloween party I went to - pre pandemic, I went as a wolf in sheep's clothing. I made a wolf mask from cardboard and faux fur and borrowed a friend's Sheep onsie. I cost me under £5 for the faux fur! I have never worn a shop bought costume in life, always throated, diy or from my wardrobe.
I’m going as Agnes from the minions movies. I love unicorn 🦄 and so does Agnes. She wears overalls,a striped yellow shirt and white sneakers. I bought a pair of overalls because I did not have a pair but may check out the thrift store (ThredUP did not have any overalls in my size) I also have a black wig from a prior Power Puff girls costume to use for her hair. And I have a large stuffed unicorn so I’m ready for our firm Halloween party. I found your channel years ago when I wanted to make a Rey costume and have loved it ever since. Keep up the tutorials.
I think it's funny that the witch is considered boring and basic but the plain cat costume isn't. I had another idea for the animal print, but immediately forgot it, ig I'll come back to comment if i remember it. Also to go off the painter type outfit, if you have short curly hair, you can be bob ross.
my friends and I did a group animal costume in university. we were "the zoo", and another one of our friends was the "zookeeper" and dressed in a safari outfit 😂
Love this video!! I usually get stressed around Halloween. Lol trying to figure out a costume can be really overwhelming, so I appreciate all the different easy ideas!! Thanks, and I have to say that the Sorry Girls is the best RUclips channel out there ❤
Hell yeah. Halloween costumes are back. I've been here since before you used a sewing machine. My DIY skills literally grew from watching you take one more and more difficult projects. And yes, I remember the hot glue gun days and fabric glue. So nostalgic
I didn't know yall started with Halloween costumes! I started watching yall back in 2014 with all the copper pipe DIYs so I thought its always been a home DIY channel!!!! I'm shook 😮😮😮
I've been around since those early Halloween costume days, and the videos you would make were extremely helpful, and also fun to watch ! They've become a tradition and I always look forward to seeing them 💖🎃
I had to pause the video and just chime in “YESSSS! Halloween! Awesome throwback to the roots of the show” lol I am here for it And (showing MY age here, ROTFLMAO @ Kels’ blurred out feet! Gotta protect from the creepers!
almost all my costumes were closet finds haha For sure makeup helps a lot - I did a broken porcelain doll, Penguin from Batman and Matchmaker from Mulan - all last minute, all with a lot of make up and some clothes haha Have fun guys! :)
I am going to be Loki for Halloween! The would be a great one if you have watched the series, as really anything goes as song as you can add some green/black/gold and maybe some kind of headpiece, which I feel like you could make. It would also be fun to do a 1950s inspired version of Loki since the show has a mid-century feel, and a green dress would work great for that, which vintage spins of characters is also fun! This would also be a great group costume of all Lokis, which also goes along with the show.
I looove the Shrek in the sky idea HOWEVER anything green screams danger in this digital era. You are basically a walking green screen. Or maybe it could be cool! idk, but I would have it in mind, just in case
Last year I totally forgot about halloween completely and 5 minutes before the kids starting showing up for trick or treating I threw together a costume of Spinelli from Recess and I was so proud

Do some crazy green eyeshadow, some freckles and DIY some green shrek ears on a headband. Maybe a green wig if you don't want your natural hair nor a bald cap, lol. Sounds like a siiiick costume 👏👏👏
Kelsey, for the black cat suit I would not recommend anything leather, latex or vinyl, as those would probably just get your face paint running and make you dehydrated, which is very bad if you are also drinking alcohol! Also if good, really expensive, of course. Maybe try find a zentai and just cut the head portion off? Tip brought to you by "I may or may not be a kinkster" ;D

Kelsey, you can also pull off the human version of Princess Fiona with your red hair in a braid with green scrunchies, a green dress, and a gold crown if you don't want to paint your face green lol!
You can pull off anything!! Go Shrek! I'm going to be a Runaway Bride. I have a veil, bouquet and a school track shirt, all thrifted. Will wear black leggings and a pair of shorts over those, with some black sneakers I already have.
omg PLEASE be the Shrek in the sky for Halloween. The rest of the studio could dress up as other Shrek characters too if they wanted, like donkey, the gingerbread man, dragon even... It'd be so good
This year I'm going to be a ballerina during warm-ups. I have ballet flats and a wrap-around cropped sweater that has always seemed ballet-y to me, and plenty of flippy-skirted dresses and tights. The only new thing I might buy is leg warmers, but I consider that to be an investment in being warm over winter 😆
you would make a fantastic human princess fiona from shrek and your partner could still do Lord farquad and it would still totally work! I am not opposed to the shrek in the sky costume just seems like it will be very very involved lol

Thank you for this! I have never been allowed to buy an outfit for dressing up on Halloween or fancy dress parties etc because my parents are super frugal and honestly now I’m an adult I’m so thankful because it makes you extra creative having to rummage though all your stuff and borrowing things off friends or family members. Also you wear it for one night, maybe rewear the costume once more and that’s it so spending money is silly unless you’re super into cosplay or dress up a lot. Obviously now I’m a grown up and have my own money I do buy stuff because I can’t help myself lol I like to buy just accessories though rather than a full costume to keep it cheap. My partner and I love costumes and Halloween all year round so this is the time of year they like looking for home decor for the whole year. It makes me sad how ephemeral Halloween stuff often is. It's not ephemeral to me and I want the costume stuff I get to last!!! I just saw Thor Love & Thunder and the "emotion god" capes were so pretty yet simple and I've always wanted a full on cape so I'll probably make one this year.
Going OG sorry girls with the diy costumes. I had to look online this year for thrifted peices to make my costume. Every year for the past 3 years i have made mine along with a matching themed dog costume. (Video idea for becky Danny trying on Halloween costumes) anyways I enjoyed watching your costume videos the most for inspiration.
Love these ideas! I'm going to be a Goddess...specifically Artemis because I am obsessed with the moon and plants! I found a pale pink prom dress, some silver jewelry and a plastic axe at Goodwill and will be making a cape and a crown for flowering up some gladiator sandals I was going to donate anyway. I also bought a toy bow & arrow set new from Target so I am set!
STILL, I want to see Kelsey, Becky and Rachael dress up as the Powerpuff Girls for Halloween!!
OMG yes! i really hope they see this
Yessss
Yes, they should do a group costume ideas video
OMG YES
Yesssss!!! Please!!! I literally was randomly thinking about which one is which powerpuff girl at the start of this video.
if anything this video made me realise that my wardrobe isn't anywhere near diverse enough for these looks lmao
Haha me too!
for me it's the opposite lol
my button ups are colorful and shiny
my black dress is poofy af

I just saw Thor Love & Thunder and the "emotion god" capes were so pretty yet simple and I've always wanted a full on cape so I'll probably make one this year.
Wow I’d totally wear the pirate, hippie, witch, and farmer on normal days. I looooove those outfits
I feel like you can be Pam Beesly from the Office
Love the ideas! I am planning on being Mary Sanderson...maybe
✨ jewelry is forever ✨
Instead of a full face of green, go for a dramatic green eyeshadow moment! The Shrek in the sky contains is epic, don’t waste it!
Great ideas that are really environmentally correct, and still really good.
i’m being lofi girl. borrowing a green sweater, wearing a maroon scarf i’ve had for years, and headphones.
I wish I had Kelsey’s confidence in front of the camera. Wow😂 the Medusa “I see you “ move LOL 😆
Good ideas. 🎃👍🏻
