    Still got very good chime and I have 2 Chauncey Jerome ogee clock from 1845 & 1856!

      The chime has been working great since it was fixed. I enjoy it very much, and it makes it impossible to procrastinate with an hourly strike.

    The fact the clock guy was about to charge $500+ for putting the weight cord back on the pulley was absolutely ridiculous, I fix antique clocks as a hobby and I wouldn't have charged anything

      They’re kind of a fancy boutique place and they wanted to overhaul it. There probably is something off in the mechanism because it seems to be a little fussy. Will fall out of time with no apparent change except the weather.

      @@haoleboyshow-tos2279 i would say study how the mechanism itself is constructed, clean out all the pivot holes with a toothpick or pipe cleaner and put a little bit of fresh oil into it. These old 30 hour American movements are pretty beginner-friendly and will run well with little maintenance
