Second video in a row that makes me want to make something. This time I had the ingredients, and I have to say this take on the Tipperary is absolutely delicious.
I usually order a Tipperary when I'm at the Varnish. Hey man, good luck with all of the craziness. I know it's not have fun to have your bar closed down (mine is open, but it's a ghost town, and should probably be closed at this point.) When all of this madness blows over I'll stop by for a drink. Stay safe!
Thank you for the history lesson.. But mostly thank you for the recepies 😁 I haven't got in Irish whiskey yet.. Which one is best for cocktails, if I should only get one? (for starters at least)
Looks great I'm going to try two of them tonight. Picking up Bushmills later today (online order curbside delivery!). BTW, did you try orange bitters? I'm wondering how that would work given the orange twist.
In the description and in the video you say "Enjoy responsibly", but with such drinks I really do not know how that will be possible! I just gotta trust my liver :@)
Great video! The black bush reminds me of the black Irish cocktail you did a while back which I've made and tastes excellent. Excited to try the others though. Stay safe and healthy out there!
Barlfly Freepour should be renamed Barfly R&D, since you review books which aid in the research and development of new cocktail techniques. It gives people a clear purpose for going to the channel to see just what R&D is available, and doesn’t box you into a specific style of video. Plus, it sounds cool as hell. BARFLY R&D!
You've developed a really good technique when mixing drinks. All your movements flow so smoothly all the way from assembling to garnishing. You've progressed so much from your early videos! My only criticism is your measures; Really? a 105ml (3.5oz) cocktail? It feels like you'll be 'one and done' which is a real shame if you want more in an evening than just a single drink. Maybe that's just me and my European measurements! Happy Paddy's day :)
Guess I'll go stockpile some Bushmills now And a little pro tip for you all - that's more storage space friendly than stockpiling toilet paper ☝️Live and learn fellas
Hey, how much a bottle of bushmill the regular one costs? and how much are the other two in USA? A friend of mine is supposed to come to visit Bangladesh annd I've told.him to bring some bitters and now will tell him to bring bushmills aside from different American whisky or burboun if convenient...cause the last step, the islay float costs more than 80(?) dollars.... so skotch and Irish whiskeys are in generally pricier than burboun as far as I know....
Oh! it is not costly at all.....actually, Penicillin has two kinds of Whiskey in the recipe. I misunderstood bushmills with Islay, and if these names are googled, two place named bushmills and Islay pops up in Ireland's map....it is the Islay, that smokey and spicy aged whiskey that is in Generally to me a sipping whiskey and costs a bit much. from experience I remember that I had my friend studying in USA bringing a laphroaig(spell check🤞) quarter cask and the pocket pinch was more than hundred dollar. Anyway, thanks for your reply. Cheers!
Very curious about the Black Shamrock!! I have some Tullamore Dew at home, I know it's not as comples as the Black Bush but do you think it may do the trick? Alternatively I have some Connemara peated, but I don't know how the smoky flavour would combine with the coffee and sweet vermoth...let me know what you think Leandro! And thanks!
@@TheEducatedBarfly Quite offensive... that would be the last thing I want in my cocktail... Btw Boggie Nights is a Drama... Anyway just found your channel and enjoy your content... I'm sure this was recorded a while ago, but as other people have said, please don't go out or if you do, be smart about it. Tonight is my bar/restaurant's last night of full service and it's quite sad TBH. I'm only part time and have a full time job, so I'll be ok, but I can't help but feel for my coworkers who this is their only source of income. Thank you to anyone who read this and let me ramble for a minute, it's a weird time. Slainte!

I know it's maybe not good for shooting youtube videos, but I treated myself with a nice japanese metal mixing cup, and I stirrypoo drinks cold waaaaay faster!
congrats on the sponsorships, hopefully it wont detract from the honest opinions you give on the taste of the cocktails! with the quality of your channel, you really deserve a green spot or redbreast sponsorship imo
We don't do, and won't do many sponsorships, but we'll only do ones we believe in. And even though we hadn't used Bushmills on the channel a lot before we really do like it.
The godfather drink was bourbon? Not scotch? The one Steve did was scotch and he didn't mention that it was supposed to be bourbon. Oopsie daisy I guess
I have to say i appreciate that you have no background music in most of your videos. Makes it chill to watch
Thank you, we also prefer without music. We want to make it feel like you're here in the kitchen with us.
I too love that sound of the crack from opening a bottle!! 😍😌😄
Especially awesome wash line on the Tipperary!
A master class celebrating smooth Irish whisky. One to save, share and watch again.
Cannot go out. Will have to stay at home and celebrate.
Nice, looks like I'll be making some Black Shamrocks. History at the end was really cool.
Practicing social distancing with a Tipperary. I like it!!
not a bad way to spend a quarantine
Legendary putting all the recipes at the end. That's one thing that we need with the multiple cocktail ones
I decided to like, subscribe, notify bell and comment because I want you guys to get paid for your efforts. Great show, thank you!!!
Felt like I was watching an old school TEB video..... and loved every minute of it.

Great recipes all around. I’ll reshake the black shamrock ☘️ as I have black bush. 😋
Stay safe though. Indoor and limited celebrations people. We need to beat this virus...
You had me at Irish Whiskey!!!
All I was thinking while you made the "Irish Godfather" was 'what a nice variation of the old fashioned.'

I was going to get the Black Bush, the regular one is very basic
I would also suggest black bush. Tried it first time today and it's pretty friendly

I'm sorry, maybe it's the whiskey talking but any drink containing Red Bush should be called "Fire Crotch". I'm just going to leave it here...
red bush and black bush just sounds...wrong. just wrong.
damn getting them sponsorships... grats guys
Any reason why you stirred the drinks as opposed to shaking? Just a difference in dilution or something else?
Shaking aerated the drink. You dont want to do that to every drink
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
So a Tipperary is more or less a Bijou but w/ Irish Whiskey instead of gin. Gonna go stir me one up right now on a golden brown note.
That’s exactly what it is
Red bush, the only way to do real irish sheet gymnastics 😅

What a coincidence. I just bought a bottle of Bushmill black
No Bushmills 12/16/21? I am disappointed by Bush. Back in the days the Bush 16 was THE go to Whiskey, it was the best deal for sure.
all with black bush
godfather...didnt felt the amaretto
next... liked the touch of kalhua
tipperary... me like chartreuse
That's the longest freaking bar spoon I've ever seen...
Nice cocktails btw...
we've nicknamed it Dirk Diggler in some previous episodes

Alexander Bertallo good point it’s hard for me at times to discern which would be common or not, what ingredients did you have a question about?
@@TheEducatedBarfly green carteuse? Never heard of... never seen the amaretto you use in the first cocktail neither...
The original Godfather used bourbon? How many drinks did you have before recording. 😄
🤔
Yeah, I thought that was an old Scotch drink too,
Wonder how the black shamrock would taste using Jameson Black Barrel?
Only one way to find out

Nice
Love it
No.The original Godfather cocktail contained Johnnie Walker Red Label Blended Scotch whisky not bourbon whiskey
Theres really a Whisky called ”Black Bush”? Kinky.

Can I substitute Disaronno for the Amaretto in this recipe?
Yep. That’d work

Sebastian Tillmann Why does using a metal mixing cup make a drink colder faster? Pretty sure that doesn’t make sense, but I’d love to hear it!
Matthew G It takes less energy to cool the vessel itself. #Thermal_mass. See Liquid Intelligence by Dave Arnold (P. 23).
Don’t mind me. Just here to help the algorithm.
I dated a girl I nicknamed Red Bush. For non-mixology reasons though.

A Godfather is definitely made with scotch according to basically every resource I can find haha
