I absolutely agree with everything in this video.
I even study Machine Learning (commonly known as AI) in university, but I absolutely refuse to let go of realty, and analog photography really helps remind me what it is. Real things emitting actual photons that get to dance on the emulsion, literally capturing a moment. I think it's so beautiful.

People who really understand and care about the art of photography understand that AI will never come close to touching it. Ai is something entirely different and i wouldn't be worried

"Is digital photography dead? Maybe for work..." If I can't work I can't afford photography at all, which results in the death of photography. That is the true experience for me as I am not a hobbyist.

Where human interaction is still needed to take a picture, AI can’t do much…for now..

Having the same thoughts regarding music these days. AI may be able to transform photography into an entirely new medium ideally, enriching existing analog formats and allowing us to experience old images in new ways i hope. i think it's important to keep looking back periodically to remind yourself what true art is and what it means in your life, not purely for appreciation but to stay connected to that feeling of inspiration and the source of the idea itself. I say 'looking back' not implying that older things are better, but that if you knew something to be good and true and pure, keep that sensation in your mind as you use these newer tools.

AI will get really good at emulating most forms of art, but it will always be replicating things that already exist through algorithm. Nothing can ever replace human choice, human meaning, human emotion. Real human-made art tells stories. And at least till we have fully conscious AI (which I doubt will ever happen) then we won't get that from AI. Someday I plan to give 6x17 a try, 6x9 has been amazing so far.

6x17 is my favorite format by far. I enjoy using my Linhof 617s Technorama and , as you demonstrate here, there is nothing that equals the joy of viewing perfectly exposed panoramic transparencies on a light table.🏆👍🌟🌟🌟🌟

Exactly. Hard to describe the experience, needs to be perceived individually to fully comprehend the magic

It is (will be) able to create anything and everything- thus can “kill” everything. But hey, who cares what AI creates :)

Nah, my photos are memories of experiences. AI can't replace the joy it gives me.
Soccer moms and grandparents have already proven that fake looking oversaturated sunset images get more attention than well done photos... those folks will love AI... and us actual photographers won't care
