Ive actually been playing an aoe stacked vaulting slam staff build on my warrior. Herald of ice shatters and armour explosion pops on my vaulting slam, and then I drop a double bell on any rare or bosses and do bell things to them with whirlwind strike. When the bell hits the entire screen, it injects pure dopeamine into my veins. Very sad that the the best feeling slam to me is a quarterstaff skill. I highly reccomened taking a look at quarterstaff warrior. Upheaval on glacial cascade is also a screenwide frontal cone thag will in fact bring your PC to its knees. I wonder if you've tried Searing Flame instead of Fire Infusion on Hammer of the Gods? The dps shown is almost halved, but that “75% more Ignition Magnitude” might still be better.
Searing Flame is unfortunately not good for us because ignite damage is based off the hit damage. That means not only is the magnitude is actually not boosted as much as you think, since we get more hit damage from aftershocks it's actually a net loss vs. other damage supports
You don't need exposure on mapping at all only at bossing. You can drop Xoph's Blood for Ancestral Warrior + Sunder + Fire Exposure + Ignition and drop it on bosses. is it possible to get a second weapon for the second slot/solo target dmg tree and just assign Hammer or Gods to that? Would that mean that I didnt have to swap around gems etc. anymore? THank you so much for the great guides!
I don't suppose there's a way to run this without needing weapon swap passive and the quick swapping of your mace and shield into the 2nd set? That kind of clunkiness is VERY offputting to me.
Vwry nice video, not following guides till i hit a wall but this is definitely looking like a good go-to! Already running ignite perfect strike, maybe swapover to HotG once unlocked and after testing.
What is the point of leveling Infernal Cry past level 3, all it gets is some speed but that cost is just not worth it. I ditched my 18 for a 3 and never looked back.
You do get warcry speed. Without that you may not be able to get off 2 cries + hammer + flamm in a single heavy stun. Ultiamtely I haven't had particular issues with mana, I just press my mana flask and its solved. Someone running +skills may want lower level gems though
i suggest looking it up on google, there's somebody that did the calcule on the forum and it's not that great since it's multiplicatif but before the convertion and then it's additif so you barely get any boost to damage.
First of all i just wanted to say thx for all your work and effort that you put in this guides, i've been following all of then through my poe 2 experience, just love the warrior besides his upside downs. My question is how did u deal with the current meta being focused on % rarity drop chance on all itens? My warrior is my first character and im strugling a bit to farm some exalted and etc
Cheers. So there's apparently a softcap around 100% rarity, you don't actually need/want it on all items. I have it on one ring where I could fit it in, but otherwise I don't worry about it because I like to focus on simply building stronger characters. Even so, I didn't have any particular issue farming the currency to gear my character out. In general, I don't really care about any meta, I play the way I want, build what I want, and find my own fun; and if I'm not having fun then I go do something else
thanks for the video really good, one question, the chest Morior Invictus grand regalia will give you enought resistence right? i mean if you get past 75% resistence is no point right?
Attackspeed speeds up the windup, movement speed affects the movement portion which is a larger % of the attack motion. So good boots are even more important, and also Thrillsteel is particularly good for us since it gives both types of speed
Thanks for the video! You seem really heavily invested in the critical damage reduction, how did you test its effectiveness and is it really worthwhile to go for so much of it?
I’m a new POE player, and I have some question about this video - Why there are 2 set of weapon point and only one 2h maces equipped on slot 1 (also the shield are on slots 1)? I have to equip another mace on slot 2? Perks? - What skill gems I have to assign on weapon set 1 or 2? also depending on equipping 1 or 2 maces
@ i see the video…pratically i have to swap 2h mace and shield on weapon set 2 before start a map that contain boss (or before start a fight with him), correct?
@@michelePiNtU Yes, to use it the way I'm using it, you have to manually swap the weapon and shield to the other set, then manually swap the Mace Strike support gems. But the other gems don't care and will use your active weaponset
It's detailed in the Leveling Guide and several other videos; we use the Shattering Blow notable on the tree, and white/blue mobs take 3x/2x armor break by default

@@cloudcastsmagicmissile is there a video on the HOTG? im quite new and dont know how the damage is scaling if you can explain how your damage is so massive it would be lovely
I have a question about dual-wielding for the single target weapon set. I'm using two +5 skill maces with decent damage for my weapon set two, but the damage tooltip for Hammer is really confusing. First, there's the little "DMG" tooltip, which only slightly increases when I swap from my AoE-shield weapon set. Then, in the advanced tooltip, it calculates "main hand damage" and "off-hand damage" separately for Hammer, and both show lower damage than my AoE setup Hammer damage. Same with ignite damage per second for main-hand and off-hand. There's also an "average damage per use" which is a bit higher. How is the damage calculated when dual-wielding? Are those stats even accurate? I don' even understand if my damage actually increases when I swap.
Pretty sure the tooltip is just showing mainhand DPS, since you lose 30% from DW. Keep in mind however that since your hits are smaller, you're also getting smaller ignites, so the actual benefit of DW is negligible for an ignite build. You'd have to also drop Eternal Flame and run another raw damage support to really get any benefit. Not worth it IMO given you're also giving up all the stats on shield, aside from the block
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile Yea thanks for the clarification. I guess it would be worth only if u spend a good amount on two insane weapons. One more thing-what do you think about Searing Flame on Hammer? Because when I use it instead of a damage booster like Primal Armament, it shows higher Ignite damage per second on the advanced tooltip so I was curious
by the way, let me say,if you take ancestral empowerment you can drop FIST OF WAR and put searing flame ;) in hammer of the gods, and have 7 l every second time....try it
I have unfortunately given up. I have realized that the hours spent on the warrior could have been spent on a Witch Demon Form Infernalist or a Monk easily. It's a shame really that I gave up because I love melee classes and I believe this EA is about finding out what actually suits you in general. Also I wish that they add the other melee weapons because they would add value into this insanely powerful class. (the Hulking Form does already wonders) The downside seems to be the Mace where Attack speed is to answer its sluggishness. I have tried almost every variation it just gets outspeeded by the other 2 mentioned up there.
Or a gemling...gemling made my warrior look like straight garbage....and i spent only around 4 divines for my gemling...i am clearing t16+ maps in like 3 mins no problem
Is there any point to leveling your warcries that high? The stats gained per level dont really seem worth it for the increased mana cost, and I'm still running em at level 11 in high maps.
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile Thx! Another question about the conversion from Avatar of Fire. I have a mace with pure physical dps. Will the “x% increased fire damage” or “x% increased physical damage” attribute from other gear (or both) affect my final dps? I assume that all damage is calculated first, and then the Avatar of Fire is applied. In this case, only “x% increased physical damage” would be counted.
Glad it's working out for you! Yes, I think the leveling build -> Update 4 (can look back at the gear/passives in the planner alternates) -> this endgame version would be a good set of progression targets. Perhaps aim for a cheap 4-socket Invictus and Xoph's blood to get started with mapping too
Why not just keep perfect strike for bosses with bigger HP pools ( ie. Xescht 2+ and co. ) ? Just replace it with stampede which is pointless in boss fights anyway. You can slot it in with martial tempo and some attack speed on you weapon swap and it will start going pretty fast. Also since you’re ( I’m doing the same thing actually ) what do you think about getting some ES from various sources ?
I've been going straight physical/bleed and avoiding ignite... Im doing well and have beaten many pinnacle bosses, but in the end I think my choice was a mistake. I think you're right about ignite being better than bleed.
Btw, couple support gem tips. Add the double cast gem to shield charge so you have two cool downs for it, it's great. Also, add the blue guaranteed crit gem to hammer, it's a massive dmg boost.
Bleed simply requires a lot of build-investment, and especially if you need to run the support gem for it to enable consistent bleeds on a long-CD skill like Hammer, you're losing an entire support's worth of opportunity cost on top. Re: Second Wind on Shield Charge, I just prefer having the shorter CDs by far, I like to use it rather constantly. Re: crit, this is a Resolute Technique build so that's a no go here. A different build going for crits and solving accuracy would certainly be the way to get even more damage, though
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile gotcha. Yeah I have 100 percent bleed chance fairly easily with some specific jewels and nodes, but even so, I just don't think the damage is there (as of right now) in comparison to ignite, from what I'm seeing. The energy shield and warcry issues are a big deal too. IMO bleed should be more damaging than ignite once you get past shields, maybe it will be better when they launch axes and marauder.
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile Dude phys damage is so laughably inferior to elemental damage. 1) You can't pre-break armour like you can pre-penetrate resistances. 2) You need to invest points into the corresponding debuffs (shock/ignite/chill/bleed etc) rather than just innately getting it. 3) There's no herald of blood. 4) Even if you break armour, the mechanic revolves around consuming it so you have to re-break it, so dumb.
First and foremost thank you for this. So many folk going away from Warrior, good to see there are still a few of us who remain ;) I wanted to ask 2 things - 1) how is your HotG damage sitting at over 150k on the tool tip? (I know the tool tip is not a great representation and actually going into it gives more detail but the reason I ask is that I use weapon swap on HotG to wield 2x 2 handers and both weapons have +6 to melee skils and a over 500 dps so its level 31 when I use it. I only get 50k so I am just wondering how you are scaling it so high as the gems are normal for ignite and less than physical damage?) 2) Can you explain your understanding of Avatar of Fire? (the devs have said conversion if from the skill first then the tree so every support gem is taken into consideration first before the conversion from avatar applies which makes sense but how do we reach 100% conversion on skills or are u still dealing this amount of damage while dropping 25% overall damage if its not converted?) Again thank you for the straight forward info and content, I am level 91 and about to switch HotG from bleed to ignite to see how it goes but wanted to check these things with you first.
I was clearing T16s without the amulet or chestpiece in my previous update #4 version. But, if you are on trade, you should definitely get a Xoph's Blood, it's cheap and a huge life boost
It mostly just affects the final Slam portion. This is ok for a pure phys Stampeder, but we're using Stampede as a vector for triggering Armour Explosion, and Momentum doesn't support that
@@brevifahiswara8314 Momentum only applies to skills you use, not triggered skills. Even if it did apply, it wouldn't apply to your first hits which are some of the most important lower-damage ones that you want to be higher-damage in order to ensure one-hit explodes
HoA has a smaller radius than Explosion which is already usually 1-shotting trash to begin with, and also only deals ~1/5 overkill damage; and a lot of our clear is from small hits like footsteps/Explosions, which aren't going to yield much overkill. So ultimately HoA does very little for us

P/s Can you help me how to used Hammer of the Gods for max damage ? Hope you can more best video next time. Thank you !
Aside from having a high damage weapon and fully linked Hammer, you want to make sure you're building 30 Rage to start with, and then make sure your Infernal Cry is within range of the boss to get its full effect (and don't forget to 20% quality the gem). Don't forget about Seismic for the extra aftershock vs heavy stunned map bosses, and don't forget Flammability before the Hammer lands either
I don't know if you will read this or answer me. But I copied some of your things from this video like going all out on fire damage. Now my Stampede only has 2.2K DMG while yours is at 7.3K. So my Stampede isn't one shotting most of the enemies and I was wondering why? I have one link less on it and dropped Heft of it. I do have +4 Level on my mace so my Stampede is lvl 23. I have 2 less dmg nodes on the passive tree and also I don't have the block to dmg scailing on my amulet. Are these the reason why my abilities do so much less dmg then yours? I would love to have an answer but also understand if I don't get one. Anyway love the build anyways cause fire explosion give dopamine to my brain.
In typical poe fashion if you follow the exact tree and uniques for a build, you will do 0dps unless you spend gigantic ammounts of currency on min max rare gear and jewels, which is where the bulk of the damage comes from.
Assuming you're following the exact build with a fully linked Hammer, make sure you are dropping it with 30 Rage, and your Infernal Cry is always being cast with the boss in its range, don't forget Seismic if the boss is stunned, and Flammability must be in effect before the Hammer lands
Think of armor as analogous to evasion. Neither saves you from enormous hits (though armor at least does something). Both save you from getting randomly killed by a ton of small swarm hits coming in all at once
@cloudcastsmagicmissile I don't agree at all. I prefer getting block capped and 7%+ reduced physical damage taken on shield. I also play stampede with herald of ice and I speak from experience.

Great video. I dropped my Warrior at 95 some days ago and went with a Pillar of the Caged God/Hand of Wisdom and Action Gemling Mercenary, stacking tons of stats. In less than 3 days of game time I got to 94, lol. It's pretty great. Still, my heart is always with the warrior/paladin classes, so I might revisit him in the future for bosses and when and if they buff Warrior.
Perfect strike. Gone but never forgotten 😢 Does Attack speed effect perfect strike?, and if so would it be worth grabing martial tempo and lose abit of damage to throw more hits faster?
It does speed up PS, but since PS is both hit+a big ignite, it's not as ideal IMO. But you could replace Eternal Flame with Tempo if you want. I'd rather have it on mace strike to help stun

does anyone know if avatar of fire works with life leech on physical damage? was afraid that my life steal is gone when switching to this build
No because you are not dealing physical damage.
Tested this and leech won't work anymore.. had to replace my gloves which had mana leech
do you use Core of Citaqualotl on your weapon?
Thanks btw the best POE2 voice and hair! While I am not strictly following your build, the ideas are in mine.
is it possible to get a second weapon for the second slot/solo target dmg tree and just assign Hammer or Gods to that?
I’ve been really enjoying this build. I want to start working on getting better gear. What runes would be best to put on the weapon ?
Is there value from the war cry gems being higher than their minimum level? It seems like it increases mana cost without a benefit I can spot.
You do get warcry speed. Without that you may not be able to get off 2 cries + hammer + flamm in a single heavy stun. Ultiamtely I haven't had particular issues with mana, I just press my mana flask and its solved. Someone running +skills may want lower level gems though
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile Oh I hadn't caught the speed increase! Awesome. Thanks
why no +7 melee weapon?
Does %increase elemental damage with Attacks work with Avatar of fire ?
i suggest looking it up on google, there's somebody that did the calcule on the forum and it's not that great since it's multiplicatif but before the convertion and then it's additif so you barely get any boost to damage.
so how do we ensure ignite on hammer of the gods hits?
do a lot of damage
Since attack speed barely affect stampede, we just need a fat low speed/high damage phys weapon then?
Attackspeed speeds up the windup, movement speed affects the movement portion which is a larger % of the attack motion. So good boots are even more important, and also Thrillsteel is particularly good for us since it gives both types of speed
Thanks for the video! You seem really heavily invested in the critical damage reduction, how did you test its effectiveness and is it really worthwhile to go for so much of it?
i too wish to know this answer, as im debating to socket this or chaos resist
I’m a new POE player, and I have some question about this video
- Why there are 2 set of weapon point and only one 2h maces equipped on slot 1 (also the shield are on slots 1)? I have to equip another mace on slot 2? Perks?
- What skill gems I have to assign on weapon set 1 or 2? also depending on equipping 1 or 2 maces
Hi, I have a weapon set / dualspec guide vid which explains the system and how we use it: ruclips.net/video/gXFyWCwAlK4/видео.html
@ i see the video…pratically i have to swap 2h mace and shield on weapon set 2 before start a map that contain boss (or before start a fight with him), correct?
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile and consequently Srampede and HOTG are connected to both weapon set, correct?
@@michelePiNtU Yes, to use it the way I'm using it, you have to manually swap the weapon and shield to the other set, then manually swap the Mace Strike support gems. But the other gems don't care and will use your active weaponset
I see a lot of stuff on your build benefits from your breaking armor, but i din't see what you use to actually break it, can someone tell me that?
It's detailed in the Leveling Guide and several other videos; we use the Shattering Blow notable on the tree, and white/blue mobs take 3x/2x armor break by default
Why not use blasphemy with flammability linked? It feels so slow to cast all the shouts and flammability after a stun .Sorry if it is a noob question
Blasphemy takes a huge amount of spirit to run, and for 40% less effect
Good point . My gear is just not that optimal so i have a lot of spirit on the chest and amulet that i dont know what to do with
can you explain about the weapon set skill why we need two separate set? or is there a video already covering that?
One for map clear with AoE, one for single target damage against bosses.
@@brnb91 how do i change between both?
@@lowpolymort Keybind is X by default or you can manually swap in inventory if you have 2 separate weapons in the slots

@@cloudcastsmagicmissile is there a video on the HOTG? im quite new and dont know how the damage is scaling if you can explain how your damage is so massive it would be lovely
Hi cloud thanks for the awesome build coyld you let us know your boss strat do you stun with mace seismic infernal then hammer?
Whats your health and energy shield at? With that gear , thank you!
Any suggestion for those who don’t have or want to run the unique body armor?
Just use the best rare chest you can find. Resists/life/armor
Is %fire damage on rings not worth it?
why armor explosion? how to break armor
by the way, let me say,if you take ancestral empowerment you can drop FIST OF WAR and put searing flame ;) in hammer of the gods, and have 7 l every second time....try it
Is the Amulet necessary for the build to work?
I have unfortunately given up. I have realized that the hours spent on the warrior could have been spent on a Witch Demon Form Infernalist or a Monk easily.
It's a shame really that I gave up because I love melee classes and I believe this EA is about finding out what actually suits you in general.
Also I wish that they add the other melee weapons because they would add value into this insanely powerful class. (the Hulking Form does already wonders)
The downside seems to be the Mace where Attack speed is to answer its sluggishness.
I have tried almost every variation it just gets outspeeded by the other 2 mentioned up there.
Or a gemling...gemling made my warrior look like straight garbage....and i spent only around 4 divines for my gemling...i am clearing t16+ maps in like 3 mins no problem
Best fix for my warrior speed was to make a Lightning Arrow build Deadeye.
With what gemling build? Does it use Howa? @@ltlsWhatltIs
Trying to run melee using Witchhunter + Hammer of the Gods with less cooldown, i'll let ya know
Is there any point to leveling your warcries that high? The stats gained per level dont really seem worth it for the increased mana cost, and I'm still running em at level 11 in high maps.
Underrated channel.
How do you ignite enemies? Passive tree?
Alter of fire passive turns all damage into fire.
It looks like you have around 240 accuracy and not using the passive that equals accuracy to the amount of strength. How don't you miss the hits?
Don't bother with accuracy, it's not worth it. Everyone is using Resolute Technique.
@@HeyArno1d good point, I actually had looked at it a few times but I assumed it would "nerf" Sunder's guaranteed crit on Broken Armor?
@@Kepha_Gaming If you're using sunder - it will probably not crit, yes)
@@Kepha_Gaming Simple answer is don't use sunder, it's shit.
Are you not using Herald of Ash??
Thank you for this update, it gives me hope! One question about "Lay Siege" - is it the same as Offensive Stance or do I miss something?
Yep, they have the same effect - Lay Siege is much cheaper to anoint though
Same effect, but if you anoint Offensive Stance you can double up additively with Lay Siege which is much easier to path to.
I guess % fire damage on rings is not worth it?!
I’m loving your leveling build. Will it help to keep following that to this point?
Glad it's working out for you! Yes, I think the leveling build -> Update 4 (can look back at the gear/passives in the planner alternates) -> this endgame version would be a good set of progression targets. Perhaps aim for a cheap 4-socket Invictus and Xoph's blood to get started with mapping too
stampeding with crushing impact clears better. It feels better & using aftershocks. Have u tested that aswell?
Crushing Impact is for low gear levels when you can't 1-shot trash mobs, I discuss it in earlier build updates
Will it survive off-screen one-shot deaths?
I've never ever gotten off screen one shot deaths, most of the time you just need to look under your feet, they're easy to miss unfortunally.
Why your hands burning?
U should use Herald of Ice
So many folk going away from Warrior, good to see there are still a few of us who remain ;)
I wanted to ask 2 things - 1) how is your HotG damage sitting at over 150k on the tool tip? (I know the tool tip is not a great representation and actually going into it gives more detail but the reason I ask is that I use weapon swap on HotG to wield 2x 2 handers and both weapons have +6 to melee skils and a over 500 dps so its level 31 when I use it. I only get 50k so I am just wondering how you are scaling it so high as the gems are normal for ignite and less than physical damage?) 2) Can you explain your understanding of Avatar of Fire? (the devs have said conversion if from the skill first then the tree so every support gem is taken into consideration first before the conversion from avatar applies which makes sense but how do we reach 100% conversion on skills or are u still dealing this amount of damage while dropping 25% overall damage if its not converted?)
Again thank you for the straight forward info and content, I am level 91 and about to switch HotG from bleed to ignite to see how it goes but wanted to check these things with you first.
Can we go without the Amber Amulet ??
I was clearing T16s without the amulet or chestpiece in my previous update #4 version. But, if you are on trade, you should definitely get a Xoph's Blood, it's cheap and a huge life boost
Does Momentum support gem not work well with Stampede?
It mostly just affects the final Slam portion. This is ok for a pure phys Stampeder, but we're using Stampede as a vector for triggering Armour Explosion, and Momentum doesn't support that
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile why momentum cant triggering armor explosing? momentum 40% damage so can also increase stun with that damage
@@brevifahiswara8314 Momentum only applies to skills you use, not triggered skills. Even if it did apply, it wouldn't apply to your first hits which are some of the most important lower-damage ones that you want to be higher-damage in order to ensure one-hit explodes

why no herald of ash?

Okay I might have figured it out. I didn't use any % increased damage passive skills. Welp that was definitly my stupidity.
Do you use wasd? By the way, your contents are fire!
Yes, 100% wasd
Im level 91 and my hammer says 115k dps (your says 150k) and it just hits bosses for like 500k not millions like you idk what im doing wrong
In typical poe fashion if you follow the exact tree and uniques for a build, you will do 0dps unless you spend gigantic ammounts of currency on min max rare gear and jewels, which is where the bulk of the damage comes from.
@@kazmaahr idk i feel like im stuck at where im at now i have a few items for sale but dont seem to sell so yeah
Assuming you're following the exact build with a fully linked Hammer, make sure you are dropping it with 30 Rage, and your Infernal Cry is always being cast with the boss in its range, don't forget Seismic if the boss is stunned, and Flammability must be in effect before the Hammer lands
Why are you stacking so much armor and relying on it when it's not working against stronger hits?
Think of armor as analogous to evasion. Neither saves you from enormous hits (though armor at least does something). Both save you from getting randomly killed by a ton of small swarm hits coming in all at once
@cloudcastsmagicmissile I don't agree at all. I prefer getting block capped and 7%+ reduced physical damage taken on shield. I also play stampede with herald of ice and I speak from experience.
im following Carn Stampede+Hotg herald of ice build and... i cant kill bosses, i know i dont have a weapon swap, like everybody has, but i dont have single target damage, i cant kill bosses so easily idk why, i have almost his same set up, but i dont do damage, i got oneshot 2 times today, by Hyeena boss and The Dark Crow or something like that, its unplayable, warrior is shit, maces are useless im lvl 89 btw, and i cant finnish a lot of t15 with bosses, besides Druid, and Serpent, so i gave up
I was wondering passive skill 1 , 2 use for what gem skill? Sorry i'm newbie for POE2
It just feels bad when you know mace strike simply does way more dps for less.
Perfect strike. Gone but never forgotten 😢
Does Attack speed effect perfect strike?, and if so would it be worth grabing martial tempo and lose abit of damage to throw more hits faster?
It does speed up PS, but since PS is both hit+a big ignite, it's not as ideal IMO. But you could replace Eternal Flame with Tempo if you want. I'd rather have it on mace strike to help stun
@@cloudcastsmagicmissile You should look at fast perfect strike spam with dual hammers to build stun, as it's far superior to mace striking imo.
