I've been playing the Diamana GT in 60TX for about a year now - with my swing speed around 115-120mph this new whiteboard would certainly be interesting. Ultimately I've always liked shaft profiles that have a bit of give in the midsection with a super stiff butt profile, and have never really liked super boardy feeling shafts (think Smoke Black, Ventus Black) so that'd be what I look for the most if I ever try this one out. Have been lucky to try out lots of different shaft profiles across heaps of manufacturers but I've always gravitated towards Mitsubishi - the way they describe their respective shaft profiles re feel/launch/spin has always matched what I've seen during my own testing which is assuring as a consumer
I’m still playing my Diamana WB 93 hybrid, I also had the 3W and Driver in 73 and 63. Loved them back then and can’t wait to try the new version and re-unite my hybrid!
My dad bought me the Titleist 913D2 for Christmas one year after I had been wanting a Titleist driver forever. At the time I had no clue about club fittings and all that, and mentioned to him that I liked the one with the black shaft bc it looked the best and matched the driver the best lol they used the 72g weight in the x5ct for the stiff shafts. I still to this day use this driver which I’ve kept looking damn near new, and over time grew to love this shaft and always wondered how it would compare to the newer popular ones out now. Been wanting to get a new driver for awhile now so I’ll definitely be testing this new version
Would have been interesting to see you test the 3 wood, and 5 wood, down a flex in Stiff flex. I think your results would have been "better." Your results were still phenomenal. Sometimes we talk ourselves out of performance. Great review. Keep up the fantastic work. 👍
You worked up a nice wee glow there Mr Fraser 🥵🤣 and you gave that last drive the beans 👍 Still got a Blueboard 93g x5ct x-flex trying to get back in the bag 😮😂
I played with and kept an M3 with a D+ 70 WB x stiff as back up for a while. Didn't matter how hard I swung it. Long and super consistent flight. Crazy good shafts.
Ian, when you get your hands on a 53x, wouldn’t it make sense to try a stiff shaft side by side? I know that none of us like to “flex” down, there might be a gem to be found…
This shaft has so much more feel and explosiveness/kick in the 73tx driver shaft than some make it sound like. It’s much more lively than my 6x tr Ventus.
Have the dwb 73xstiff tipped 1/2 and butted an inch in driver and 3wood. Glad they came out with an updated model as I’ve never hit a shaft that feel and performs as good.
Fantastic review guys, I played Diamana Whiteboards a few years ago but as I have gotten faster I realised that shafts with a stiffer handle such as the Ventus Black and Ventus Black TR are a much better fit for my swing, I am keen to try this new WB shaft after Ian described it as feeling stiffer in the handle and heavier overall, Cam Champ and Gary Woodland are playing the 63 TX and 73 TX respectively in their drivers which verifies that its aimed more towards PGA Tour players with loads of speed, maybe the 83 TX would be perfect shaft for Mikey in his fairway woods.
to me there has always been a thing with Titleist drivers and Diamana shafts, my 910 was blue kai'li and my 913 was black ahina, gotten alot older but still use the 910 kai'li, love the feel
I still play the OG made in Japan Mitsubishi Diamana 73 x5cT stiff Blue Board that I got from the Titleist Custom shop years ago . I just keep sticking new titleist heads on it but added a half inch after the TS’s came out . I’m just down the street from your Toronto studio if you ever want to test it out vs the newer offerings Ian . Cheers James
Great review. I still have a Diamana Dialead Red x5ct 50g S- flex I use here and then for something different. It has great feel. Odd for me because I mainly use my Hzrdus Yellow Small Batch 76g S-flex/6.0. The Diamana is definitely for a smooth loader.
Don’t know if you noticed or not (I’m sure you did, but it wasn’t mentioned) the first 2 balls with the driver, the efficiency was 1.49 and 1.48….on quad…lol niceee
Will you guys be doing any golf ball testing this year with new releases from Callaway and Bridgestone? Pretty substantial changes to their ball that would be fun to see how they stack up.
Yeah …. I hope when the build a bag series occurs you take it in the order you both feel should be done from the client side. After seeing this the decision to has to be difficult what to pull the trigger on from the stand point of the knowledge and experience skills you both have acquired. Those were some impressive hits in the driver … so many still fear they aren’t at either being good enough or consistent enough to warrant spending money on a fit, so how much time is dedicated to discussing a decision after a fit session for the less experienced and knowledgeable player?
When you have an extreme shaft like this, it might be interesting in seeing a higher swing speed player like Ian, and then a lesser swing speed player like Mikey swing the club back to back. We could directly see the difference of performance produced (or lack thereof). Might be a lesson to someone considering the shaft of why they need to test it.
Never thought I had the swing speed for a Whiteboard. Now I'm playing a Ventus Black. But I do have a Diamana shaft in my putter and it's not too much lol.
How do you not play this in your driver after seeing these numbers? Best I’ve seen Ian swing. Even went after one to make sure and the WB held up without breaking a sweat.
Any swings with the diamana t+ from the qi line? I made the mistake going with it but i definitely feel like im swinging too fast for it and its high torque. Could deflection of the shaft be causing a more downward attack angle? I'm having trouble hitting up with it and spinning it way too much.
I've never played a Diamana (I'm an Aldila fan boy) but just purchased a second hand Titleist 915 D2 driver for my son that is fitted with a Diamana multi dimensional interplay (whatever the hell that means) S+ 60 x5ct X flex shaft. It cost the grand total of AUD$100 (CAD$88) 😃. I'm an S-flex player (with a heavy Ping head) so thought the X would feel boardy. But it doesn't. It just feels stable.
I played white board, 3rd gen maybe. I used to like them, but then I started playing HZRDUS Black and Smoke shafts and haven't looked back. Maybe their 6.0 is a better fit for me than a Mitsubishi stiff.
Ian taking the mick out of Mikey, but Mikey could get him back with "how is your memory so good when you're so old?". Carbon is provided in rolls from the manufacturers, and is called "pre-preg" - before it is laid and rolled into the mandrel shape for each tube. It then gets cooked in an autoclave to cure the carbons and resins together.
My swing speed averages 116-117 on my dad’s GC Quad. My ball speed is usually between 165-173 mph. But my carry is averaging 275-280, total is 300-310. Why am I not hitting as far as Ian!?!?!? Trackman says my optimized carry is 305, but on Trackman I average 275-ish carry. I don’t get it
I once had the White Board in a driver I was fitted for. I could hit it well and on the surface the shaft and driver seemed perfect, but to me it had absolutely ZERO feeling. I hated it
Watch our fitting videos and you’ll see that not every product works for every golfer. There’s a significant difference when you dial in a player with the right equipment.
can you do a low spin shaft comparison video like this new white board vs ventus black 6x vs gd tour ad vf 6x etc etc
I would love seeing that comparison too!!
Look at previous videos where he hits those shafts and get the numbers and compare
I played a whiteboard back in the day. I’m a Ventus Blue TR 7X guy today but I have a fitting in 12 days… woot!
Like seriously Ian is like the golf review oracle - leaves others in the dust and makes it easy for semi-geeks like me easy to understand

I agree with Fraz… they should have gone all white with high gloss… maybe even gold graphics for the anniversary… it would get more TV time that way 😊
I’m still playing my Diamana WB 93 hybrid, I also had the 3W and Driver in 73 and 63. Loved them back then and can’t wait to try the new version and re-unite my hybrid!
just bought this WB 63 X and came back to this and still can’t believe Ian didn’t game this at all after those 173MPH bombs
one of my favorite shafts ever made.

Mr Fraser hitting BOMBS............BOOM🚀🚀🚀🚀
The Bandit!!!! Great to hear from you my friend!! Hope you’re doing well!!
@@ianfrasergolf I'm hanging in there👍 I hope that you and the family are all splendid👍👍
An oldie but goody just got better. I used to play the WB 63x and 73x back in the day.
If the X is too stiff, why not just drop down a flex and give it a try?
Ian finding a new gear today! There is something about a super stable saft that allows you to just let it rip!
You worked up a nice wee glow there Mr Fraser 🥵🤣 and you gave that last drive the beans 👍

Ian’s swing looking calm & assertive on camera. 172.7 …good reason for a Sunday Bag as a R&D Test Bed
Numbers, flight and dispersion with the driver are awesome.
to me there has always been a thing with Titleist drivers and Diamana shafts, my 910 was blue kai'li and my 913 was black ahina, gotten alot older but still use the 910 kai'li, love the feel

I've had a few Whiteboards over the years! Will have to check out pricing compared to the Velocore!
Spot on with the Diamond Power Mikey!
Comparison to D+ limited? Been playing that for 2 seasons.
Ian put it in the bag you hit all of those great
Such a great profile. Had a D+ 70x in an M3 driver. That shaft felt good
Have an OG Whiteboard 73x in my TSi3....as fast any other combo I've tried. Would love to see a test with all six generations of WB.
10 years ago I played TaylorMade SLDR TP shafts .... D 67g, 3w 83g, 5w 77g...💪 💣... Just thought it was the norm.
That 3wood was a beast.

I play D+ in my 3W and S+ in my driver currently. I’m sure that’s not good enough for the Diamana faithful but I like them quite a bit

I've got a R series 70x in my G430 3 wood and it's lovely.......
Recently had my hzrdus smoke green 80tx snap on me so definitely looking forward to testing the wb. Feel like a 70tx or 80 might be perfect
Have this in 63x at 44.5” in ai smoke 9 deg diamond tour head. Beats my 6x tr and vf6x by 20 yards carry. This shaft just fits me.
This compare to the tensei 1K black?
Old but good , still got a blue 72 x5ct in my 5 wood. 3 wood and driver in my sons bag whilst his learning. all Titleist 913's

Ilima in my 3 wood right now. My most trusted ❤
Never thought I had the swing speed for a Whiteboard. Now I'm playing a Ventus Black. But I do have a Diamana shaft in my putter and it's not too much lol.

Was fitted for the Diamana df, still love it

Played the Whiteboard and the Blueboard!
Can't wait for a new blueboard now...
Great review as ever !
Love shaft reviews
I was fitted into the hzrdus smoke green would this shaft be ok too?

Another vote for Ian to try the 53g version.
I guess if the GOAT played it then it must be good….may he manage a win this year… would be great for golf
I can see the speed training is paying off Mr Fraser! 👏👏

Actually still gaming Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara 55 x5ct flex-s fairway woods...only Mitsubishi's that have ever worked for me.
Well this is semi convenient lol just snagged some unused 2nd gen WB, BB, Hybrid WB, & Speeder Evo II as a $30 bundle
avg 132 driver swing speed and just replaced ventus black 7x with this in 73tx.
I once had the White Board in a driver I was fitted for. I could hit it well and on the surface the shaft and driver seemed perfect, but to me it had absolutely ZERO feeling. I hated it
we neeeed to see the 53 x/tx vs the 63x
Seems to be like nearly everything you guys test is a good fit. Kind of makes me think that fitting isn’t as important as we are led to believe
Watch our fitting videos and you’ll see that not every product works for every golfer. There’s a significant difference when you dial in a player with the right equipment.
Lets gooooo
Is this shaft similar to D+ limited or diamana PD?
Played the Blue 70 -s- x5ct I think in my 915 3w really love it. First found a replace with TSI 2 with tensei blue
That 5 wood sounds nuked!!!!!
Similar to tz rpg?
Every company is trying to make a Ventus black competitor. Super cool time to be a shaft ho 😎
You talked about going down and wait what if you went down one flex
Ian.......do these shafts give you extra spin 😂😂😂😂🎣
How does this compare to the Diamana PD?
It is the diamana pd
Definitely not .. the PD is 'soft' in the butt section @@CanadianBiPolarBear
@@Y333HJMS yeah they r a touch different but they r both the diamana white board version of that eras shaft
How would anyone that’s tried it compare it to Ventus Black
What if you went one down in flex because it’s so stout
Thought the white board profile had a softer butt section. Surprised to hear that the butt is very stiff.
Wow wow
Should have had Mikey hit the driver. Some of these WRXers need to learn what too stiff does to the flight lol
Ian saying "this is for people with more in the locker than I do" then almost holes out from 250 with a 5 wood... 🤔
Thank you
